With this, we have come to the end of the Monastario storyline.
Next week, we'll start the very long Eagle storyline (it's twice as long as Monastario). - Розваги
I love how worried Diego looks, his facial expressions throughout Garcia and the comandante's conversations, and when he coughs and looks at the comandante.
I really like the fact that they made monastario both a very evil but also a very capable villain. He actually figured Diego out to the detail

Thank you so much! It's really a shame they got rid of Monastario so soon. Maybe, if the series had not been taken off the air after only two seasons they would have brought him back.

The story was best with Monastario; after this it was nt the same anymore.

It's hard to get back the buzz of your first viewing, but Diego is actually in a very tight spot here. Seems neither Alejandro or Bernardo know he's been arrested. He's far from the cape, sword and horse, and Monastario could have him shot outright.
Natch, Diego lives up to the name of "fox." "You give me too much credit, commandante. It takes no skill at all to make a fool of you." Ha!
By these words, he reveals himself. By the way, in the film 'the mask of zorro' the commandante has capture him

I hate it hen some one from Disney or BMG or any other corporate that blocks some of there stuff due to copy right reasons. If they are going to block some of it like parts 2 and 3 of this Zorro episode then why not block all of Zorro on all UA-cam channels? I wish these companies would stop blocking stuff all together.

I love the prisoners refuse to budge from their cells until Garcia mentions free wine. I'm guessing they didn't worry much about their livers at that time.
I feel so bad for Monastario, he was trying so hard to expose Zorro, and he actually had really good ideas, it's not fair. I can't watch the rest of the series without him. 😥😥😥
I guess the final person to expose Zorro will be Montero in the movie Mask of Zorro. I mean Montero had arrested many citizens until he can connect the dots and think who he did not arrest. Then finally, it was Diego. If Monastario is meant to expose Zorro, then Disney Zorro would only go up to season 1 episode 12. In the movie, Montero knew that Zorro will have to eventually save the prisoners and later on that is how he can connect the dots and see who is supposed to have a same blood as Zorro. If Diego is unmask, his career as Zorro would already ended and he will have to eventually find someone to train to take on his Zorro identity. If Monastario really did officially unmask Zorro, Diego's career as Zorro would already end sooner than expected and he would not have lived long enough to get married and get a daughter.
Is it possible to reload the last part of the episode ?? It is one of the best and the last of Monastario story...

Ugh, I wanted to rewatch the series, but it's impossible to rewatch when when parts of each episode are blocked in my country, and the ones that are complete are in poor quality. I have most of them on VHS, but my VCR is too messed up to play them. This sucks. I miss the days when UA-cam didn't block movies and shows. The show being as old as it is, and it not even airing anymore, it should be allowed to be shown as a historical peace.

@dobbylovergirl12 I think my post didnt go through. I was saying his name is Guy Williams. He wasborn in 1924 and died in 1989 at 65. Time/life is fleeting and its important to be quick to do the things we want/need to do and to find the right one to love.

@dobbylovergirl12 his name is Guy Williams. He was born 1924 and died 1989. He also starred in Bonanza. Life is so fleeting isnt it. We havee to be quick to do the things we need to do and find the one we love. I used to watch this series too.

I am watching this for like a dozen-th of time but for a first time I'm noticing two things. By the way it is Oct 25th 2023. One less fun and one more fun. One thing is - is it just my impression at the moment or is the actor playing Monastario not at his best in this episode? I have a feeling that few funny lines were delivered by him in a less funny/more serious manner than it would normally be. Maybe the decision of him leaving the show was sudden and he is disappointed here... well I'm disappointed forever by such a stupid decision by the show's creators.

The series proper ended with this episode imo. There was a conclusive ending and a sane Diego would have retired the Zorro disguise. In the show Diego just becomes a crazy person after the captain is gone. The premise for the rest of the episodes are ridiculous. Zorro in a vast political struggle way over his head and the show's level of seriousness. Then Zorro the weird recluse who wants to play dress up cop for life and be a clown, accepting duel's of honor and policing marriage choices of his relatives.

And if Monastario was to stay and be part of what became of this show... it is I guess for the best that he left in style with Diego failing at defending his honor. Too bad though because there were things that gave full justification for this conflict to last. Monastario didn't even come near to becoming the richest man of all California. It all went so wrong like they didn't know this simple thing - the stronger and smarter the adversary is the more glory there is in dealing with such for a character that supposed to be the hero. The self-mockery started with decision of the viceroy who rather have dumb Garcia in charge than Monastario. After that the show became a pitiful parody of itself.
