Here is a brand new series I have been working on called where we look at iconic Bass lines in different genres over the last 50 years. This week we look at Heavy Metal!!
I know a lot of people will disagree with my choices which is fine and because of this I will do another version of this with your suggestions! Make sure you leave your recommendations below but make sure you include the riff name, album and date of release if you can :-)

It's a big sin not to include Ace of Spades and play Motörhead with a clean bass

But Lemmy played extremely dirty bass like a guitar. And Marshal don't even make his set up anymore. At the very least you need a pedal now to even get close to Lemmy Kilmister on bass. And then not even normal bass. Then four strings and a bad ass Rick played close to the neck.
How you play any instruments how you play it. Black Sabbath? Yeah Geezer used his fingers mostly. Gene Simmons from Kiss? Pick. And regardless playing other band's songs it does make a difference. I personally like the sounds I get from picks on bass. But also use my fingers. And don't even own a five string bass.

@@freddymaierx2363 Pedals don't give you the same sound as overloaded tubes. Marshall don't make Lemmy's setup anymore.
      That is half the problem.
Another 45 percent of the problem is Lemmy played a Rickenbacher whis is abot 4500 dollars. Minimum.
Honestly the shape and what was used makes a difference in the sound.
Exactly why would you want clean pertaining to Lemmy Kilmister? The boy was dirty and he played that way. God Bless him.

Kind of disappointed to be honset. There are so many good metal basslines out there and yet you chose only lines that basically where doing what the guitar played some octaves lower. There where some hard ones in there, but nothing to interesting. And through that you missed some major turning points for bassist, true revolutions like the roaring bass lines of Cliff Burton (any other line from master of puppet would have been better). I dont want to personally attack you just stating my opinion. Much success to your future videos. Your playing and tones where on point 👍

Awful choice of riffs. So many better riffs even in the same songs you chose, yet you decide to go with bass riffs that are just guitar line imitations an octave lower or only root notes. Come on man! And then you decide to play Maiden and Korn using a damn pick? No man. Disliking this one...

You have chosen most of the songs with simple bass lines which the bass riffs are basically the guitar riffs. Maybe 4 of them were ok to consider as metal grate base line riffs.
