My father worked on the construction of Main Street’s Train Station, and after the grand opening of the Magic Kingdom he was a cast member at the Haunted Mansion for five years.
@@madman10769 We still go to Disney, I just went back with him yesterday for the first time since I had Flat Foot and Tendon Reconstruction Surgery on December 28th. Even though I couldn’t walk it was still fun!
I live in UK. I went 12 years ago and paid (in your dollars) $6000 for flights - 2 weeks in a deluxe resort - tickets for 14 days & free food. Now the same holiday, at the same hotel WITHOUT FREE FOOD!! is $14500 dollars and now I got to pay for fast passes too 🤨 The absolute insane thing is, a lot of the hotels are sold out. So people are clearly willing to pay it. NOT ME lol Will stay off site for sure now.
I worked for Disney Entertainment for 23 years and Still proud of them but considering all things retro that’s what should be coming down Main Street USA for The Main Street Electrical Parade.
On October 25th I will be headed to WALT DISNEY WORLD as I’m from Trenton, NJ which is your sister station WTXF (Philadelphia) territory for the celebration.
Thanks for the video, I enjoyed this one a whole lot. I was in attendance at MK, on the 1st, 2021. Though I did have fun, it was exciting to get up real early in the Disney hotel I stayed at, then take the Disney bus over to MK while still very dark outside, it was special. But being that so, I did find the opening presentation show kinda lacking the feeling, so to speak. To me it felt like an ordinary welcome show. I truly would have loved to hear Roy Disney’s voice, like in the beginning of this video, also, maybe have some of the original cast members come to the stage and wave hello. And lastly, some top executive say a quick 5 minute speech, while Mickey is standing next to him. It just felt flat and it was not just me, there were lots of people around me that were standing minutes after the welcome show, wanting more. One fan was standing right in front of the castle for hours, thinking more was to come. Look, I did have fun, I did love the fireworks show, I did get to ride the rides I wanted, low wait times. But I just felt the top Disney brass, well, dropped the ball.
Some maybe over 60-70% of the crowds are disappointed over the 50th celebration it's said that they felt Disney only focused on doing it for the media and not the Disney goers...lack luster of a 50th celebration executives lost touch on Disney...it was a merchandise push day
I was there and that's what it felt like. People fighting for merch in the Emporium and long lines wrapping all around the park for popcorn buckets to be hocked on ebay for 10x the price. It was pretty sad for a once in a lifetime occasion.
@@hayleyreed9338 Being there on the actual 50th anniversary 10/1/2021 was once in a lifetime. Yes the celebration goes on but it's not nearly as meaningful.
Money made movie maze bank and then years before New DVD player party and play some more fun more information Disney world and Disneyland before New DVD more money made into store story about how much money does it mean when you dream your hard
I remember this program.
God gave us Walt Disney and that was the best gift that he ever gave all of us.
THE BEST GIFT GOD GAVE US WAS HIS SON JESUS SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.
Walt would love the technology but not how Disney is slowly turning into the rich family’s vacation

50 years of magic to have Chapek nickel and dime the magic to death in under a year.

I wish they made a special where they brought back Caroline Rhea from the 25th anniversary to host a 50th special
You forgot that River Country was the first waterpark.
You call last ?
That's irony, as Disney bought Fox's former namesake owner 21st Century Fox 2-3 years back.
Too rich for most people these days...
Sorry Walt, but they got greedy!

Such a shame splash mountain ride is gone
It's not gone. It's just changing it's story
Its still there! They haven't closed it yet for reimagining.

They are retheming for Princess and the Frog. My favorite ride. I will miss the old, but I love when they update for the next generation.
Over rated now …. Just over priced nostalgia these days . Cast members , til they cast you out . Remember the shut down .
Yeah I know what you mean
I hate Disney 👎🏻👎🏻🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Poor, unfortunate soul. 😀
Cool beans bro
I mean most people do now a days
So why are you here watching this special? You think you're special by voicing it out and even liking your own comment.
Why you hating liking your own comments is lame as fuck
