This show was on a day that was over 100 degrees outside and even hotter inside. Anyone know who those other people with cameras are? Let's find them and I will gladly edit a multi-cam version!
Filmed and converted by Kevin Rankin/Vonesper Studios
32:33 - "Mayo is a character. It's not about mayonnaise" hahaha
This shit had me cracking up. I used to have a password for some things along the lines of "i need mayo" and whenever i shared it with someone they'd be like... "damn dude you really like mayo, hm?".
@@slobertsmalls That is Dave Livingston. He was in my band Project Mayhem and/or *dflatio at the time.
REALLY?! That killed me lol
thats funny
pro trick : you can watch movies at KaldroStream. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
kudos to the guy whos holding the speaker while enjoying the gig !!!!!! you had my RESPECT bro!!!!!
Hahaha! Holding up the monitor and mouthing all the words!
Josh is such a unique drummer. His drumming on Good Apollo is F'ing Phenomenal
😉OLIVES in Nyack.
My lil bro was at this show and was psyched, so much so that he told me all about it. He thought the band was great! Yeah, glad they made it.
I hope someone gets ahold of this and remasters it and reposts it. I'd love to hear this clearer and crisper
I saw these guys around this time. This whole album was amazing. Life changing even.
Frfr. No bad song on that album
Vinny here: I was on the side somewhere. A friend of mine asked me to hold their camera and record since I wasn't going into the pit. I have no clue which friend and I saw that video pop up once on UA-cam in some compilation of rare Coheed footage. Obviously, not this video haha
True Story.
Let me know if you ever find it. Claudio posted a photo not long ago of a still from a different angle.
a primordial version of in keeping? sounds so badass
“Upper Armories of the Third Deep” I believe was the working title at the time
What's different about it?
@@hortybob YES
Is it a jam based off of Star Cecil? That's what it puts me in mind of.
this makes me viscerally need a coheed show right the fuck now
I entirely hope you went or are going to this tour dude 😂
Even young Claudio gives chills
It's really sad for me to watch this. This band has had a huge impact on my life in various ways over the past 17 years. I didn't really understand what they were really all about in the beginning of me listening to them all I knew was that it was truly mind-blowing on every level for me and it grabbed me like no other band ever had. As the years have gone by and my understanding of their music has increased coupled with seeing all these live cuts of their early years, I realize I really missed the magic of this band. I never had thought to go and see them in concert in the early years (too busy with life and such), and now it's just too late, the original magic is over; and I realize I really made a huge mistake by never taking the time to be a part of it. There is something really special about a band that is young, committed to making it, and has put all their energy and heart towards it. This only happens in a bands career for a short time and unless you are near this in the early days, you will really miss it. That is not to say they are not a good band now, far from it actually, but this energy and drive could never be replicated today by them because it was the drive that got them to where they are today. It's bitter sweet for a band I can imagine. With all that being said, I think that Claudio is the best musical composer of the 2000s and I would still go and see him even though he is now an older version of his younger, energy filled, driven, self. Getting older is a hard pill to swallow, one day you realize you've lost your youth and it can never be retrieved.
reel it in man
Truth
I'm 37 and got into them around this time at 17 after graduating HS and trying to figure out life. This makes me sad now. I miss that time and all my friends back then and having no major responsibilities and going to shows like this all the time! This album brings back all the feels. I get emotional everytime I listen to it 😭 masterpiece
I’m 34 and I was a fan back in 2003-4 when in keeping secrets with silent earth came out, I didn’t get a chance to see them until 2007 though after welcome home came out. They were fantastic, but they weren’t/couldn’t be this at that point, Claudio’s voice wasn’t what it was here, just being overused touring so hard in the years from here to 07, also just having been there done that for 4-5 years by then, im sure they were spent on show after show after show. The live recordings at Hammerstein are brilliant
I saw them in the early days. And they are FARRR better now. A fine tuned machine of composition and performance. Just go
Omfgggggg.... I remember this. I remember the sound this day, what it was like with everyone around. I remember hanging outside olives this day....
Thank you so damn much for the day sent pure chills down my spine.
This is beautiful footage that needs to be protected at all costs
The future of the Keywork depends on it
Hey my guy did you stay to see worlds demise?
This was an intense audience! So much energy daammnn
And to think, two years later they’d sell out Starland in one of the best concert DVDs ever. This is one of the most insane concert videos I’ve ever seen. This crowd is insane. “Don’t die” is right, Claudio. Crowd surfing with 8 foot ceilings, stage diving with no security at all. This was pre-Dimebag and it shows. Amazing atmosphere.
Here I was in 2002 graduating high school, I would have never made it into Olive’s at that age even though it was the place I would eventually hang out in Rockland for years. Nor did I know who they were. Only until I hit 36 did I begin listening to their work regularly. First memory was A Favor House Atlantic but never caught on until now…
this is some genuine early 2000s hijinks fr. miss these days so bad.
I’ve seen them 14 times and the keywork is tattooed on my arm. Fucking amazing band
one of the best early show recording, keep coming back to watch again and again
I love how people are already singing in the crowd for Delirium Trigger. It was a small group here, but sooner or later Claudio wouldn’t even need to sing on stage because the crowd was singing so loud…
Damn was living only about 20 minutes from this show at the time, but I was only 13 and hadn't even heard of them yet. If only I had been a little older 😕
Reads description “What is Armories of the Third Deep?” Skips forward “Oooohhh”
Love the part where after Upper Armories of the Third Deep some dude in the crowd is like "Is that a Iron Maiden song?" lol
This was not the second stage Turbine release show. That happened on 3/3/2002 at Olives with Prevent Falls opening
OMG i love you for uploading this
17:54 - Claudio rips Mic's cable out of his bass head. Takes Mic a minute but then he's like DAFUQ?
lmao that’s the best thing I’ve ever seen
I've been in bands and I know the tiny stage all too well. Once I was really into a song and when I was coming back up from headbanging I smashed the back of my head into the headstock of our bass players head. My hair being very long, got tangled up in it and well lets just say there was a little bit of me left on it by the end of the song. lol
History in the making
Awesome footage
I hope someone bought a beer for the guy holding the speaker the whole time.
oh i wish i was an adult at the time they played these crunchy shows. so awesome thanks for sharing
also, is that josh's brother joey, holding the speakers maybe?
Don't think it was Joey from 3
32:30 “Mayo is a character , it’s not about mayonnaise “ Lmaooooo
The best part of the entire show is the P.C. Richard's fan in the back 🤘🤘
I never thought a band named Shabutie from Nyack would amount to much
So good.
One of the other people recording is Joseph P. Traina on youtube. He uploaded some of this set and some of Claudio's acoustic set you uploaded.
Dope first time seeing this
Caught them in RVA in 2002 with thrice and hot water music.
Crazy how I wasn’t even 1yo when this happened
Thank you so much
Olives looks so different now
I’ve heard it looks like an olive
And some parts of the video are now of the The Second Stage Turbine Blade 20 Years video.
I want Mike Todd to be better, healthy, addiction free. I love Zach, but Mike started with them all.
Zach has been with them longer now than mic was
25:38 Claudio pouring Josh some water
I always knew Travis was a frat boy :^)
Ancient IKS holy shiiiit!
IF ONLY WE CAN TURN BACK TIME #UGHH
"I WANNA DRINK IT!" 38:06
Who's Montana masback?
I know
Are you sure this was the record release? I was at the record release at Olives, but I don’t think this is it. and I could’ve sworn it was earlier than this… but maybe my memory doesn’t match reality
What i would give to be here
This is way before they sign with sumerian records.
hes rockin a Brand New shirt
Who is? I don't see it. But which shirt
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 travis is, hes got brand new merch on here
Is this the tour with glassjaw, blood brothers and American nothing?
Just before that I believe. I saw that show at Krome, NJ.
Jeez what a gig that must have been.
45:53 head scratchies
Was this the Olives show that Little Yellow Box opened?
Yeah! And The Paragraph!
@@vonespersvault aw, I totally forgot about the paragraph. I think I still have a couple old mp3's on an old hard drive of their's
I never saw them live but I used to listen to Little Yellow Box.
Did you ever listen to In Pieces?
Emo hair all over
