    Beautiful place. How could anyone have any issue with Nat ? He was a treasure. What a jerk that guy was to be that way.

    The KKK burned a cross in his yard!! Utterly appalling and disgusting! That IRS seizure may also have been neighbor-induced. Poor guy. Absolute legend.

    Natalie went to elementary school at Cathedral Chapel - a little Catholic school nearby. She may have been the only African American at that school. When the Beatles first played the Hollywood Bowl, Nat rented the Cathedral Chapel bus and took her class to the see them. Their neighbors included Dan Blocker (Bonanza) and HR Haldeman (the Nixon administration).

    What a voice!! Beyond me how anyone could hate him. He had such a gentle smile and always a twinkle in his eye. He seemed like such a nice man.

    Funny story - one year those same neighbors asked Mr. Cole to perform a mini x-mas show for them. He did and billed them. They were so mad and called him "uncouth" when they though his time was free for them.

    How people can live with hatred instead of love for everyone is beyond me. He was amazing. 👍🏻😎

    I grew up listening to Nat King Cole. Always loved his voice. Another example of a beautiful soul gone too soon. May he & Natalie rest in peace. 🙏💙💐🎤🎹🎶

    I loved Nat King Cole’s response to the comment regarding Undesirables! I’ve always been a huge fan of Nat King and Natalie Cole. I was saddened to hear about Natalie Cole’s passing on New Year’s Eve, 2015. Thanks for the video Jordan! 👍👍

    Nat King Cole is one of the ultimate people who fought racism. My mother saw him perform live at the Boston Garden in the 1950s. She said his grace and dignity was wonderful. His behavior and his demeanor We’re probably of a higher level than most white performers. And she remembers a very mixed audience that was also a perfectly well behaved audience.

    Wow ! - Watched a great Documentary about NKC - :-" NKC Not afraid of the dark " -It was called goes into detail about the neighbours scorching the lawn !
    Nat King Cole has a place in our home firstly Dad loved Nat silky voice ever since he met a American GI in a French Cafe just after the liberation of Europe - He had a small record player out in his Jeep & brought it into the cafe bar & also had some US Govt. Issue - The soildier plugged it in and beganto play the records for Cafe Patrons ! - Nat King Cole was on a few of the GI's collection & it was also the first time My Dad had heard recordings played in Stereo !
    ...And now up until Dad died (you won't believe this but he died on at 11 oclock on the 11th November 1993) Dad would always play his NKC records on a Sunday morning while he prepared the veg for our Sunday dinner ! - Mom would be catching up on her sleep in bed after doing her night shift in a local hospital - Then later on of course would get up a finish the whole thing off - she'd put the joint in the oven of course before she went up to bed for a few hours !

    The Same thing happened to Lena Horne ! - Lena found out she had neigbours passing around a petition to oust her out of a home she had set - But alot of the white neibours wanted her out ! - But she had one good straight talking guy in her corner - Humphrey Deforest Bogart - Yes Humphrey Bogart lived just across the road - And he went and did some straight talking to their neighbours - Telling Lena that that if anyone ever bothered her again to let him know - Crazy ! ...they all nearly own their records but yet don't want them living near by ? - It's a crazy world !

    I like Nat King Cole, but he was a Freemason since 1939. Highest likelyhood the Klan & racial narratives against him are just that, narratives by creation, and he was likely never in any danger. Also likely, that housing situation was arranged. Love his singing. He earned his keep as an artist, but he was also used as a socially engineered pawn in the movement. Nearly all prominent black entertainers from his time, seemed to have to join "the club" to secure their lasting positions.

      Wow you assume?Typical....Those type of fake americans spent their whole lives worried about people who truly didn't give a damn about them

    • @illinoisjones8003
      @illinoisjones8003 2 роки тому

      @@myronbledsoe44 Isn't the claim "spend your whole lives" an assumption?. Admittedly, my old comment is dumb. But truth to it.
