He says he doesn't have a lot of his grand-dad's stuff, but he sure got a lot of his genes. He looks so much like him it's eerie.
Sounds like him also. When he sings his rock a billy stuff its insane how much he sounds like Hank Sr.
That's why they call him the Ghost.
Sounds like him too
I was thinking the exact same thing
@@ericstoecker2096 he has a powerful voice well at least more powerful than his granddaddy’s. More nasal flow as well

I always wondered what the deal is with this guy. He coulda been a coat tail rider or a sell out but it is apparent that he has maintained his integrity in a sellout world. Rock on Hank III.
@H ebert when your perfect in every way I can't wait to look in the...

It's weird because his father Hank jr looks and sounds Nothing like hank Sr.
Oh my god he does
I was at a show he was playing that had the weirdest audience-punks and cowboys. He had the grace to tell the audience he had country fans and he was going to play a few songs for them. He’s earned every ounce of respect he gets!

Hank 3 has killer taste in music. And his gramps and dad rule as well. Salute!

They should make a biopic about Hank, starring Hank3. He has the looks, the style, the voice.
The incredible talent running through the Williams blood seriously blows my mind. All three Hank's are amazing in their own way. Junior and III were able to become their own man and create their own unique sound while keeping the Williams legacy alive.
Rockin' Randall said it best with "It's just an ole family tradition."

Melvins poster in the back.
Love Hank III, he's our Hank Williams.
I've seen the Melvins three times and plan to see them in October. They're playing with Red Kross and Shitkid.

He toured with them. Only time I’ve seen him live was with the melvins

Hank 3 is a damn legend. His music is the most brutally heartfelt, honest and beautiful I know. If you ever feel down and out, Hank's tunes will charge you up and get you back on your feet. Basically makes you realize you're not alone. Thanks brother.
I like Hank III , He is genuine. No real help from his Dad . congrats Hank III Your a cool dude man.
Not one ounce. He's full on Hank Sr

Such a beautiful young man-looks and sounds so much like his Granddad. So sad that Hank Jr. wasn’t more involved in his life. He missed out on an awesome person! Love ya, Hank III
His dad was VERY involved in his life. He often traveled with his dad doing state fair shows and venues that weren’t on tours. They spent many hours in the dove fields and deer woods together. Jr. thinks the world of his son, and allowed him to carve his own future in music using his own style, just like he did. Wonderful people to be around during hunting season, great stories from both. I wish I could have met Sr.

shannonandsheila1 haha ya I was definitely sporting the split flap haha. Between those and parachute pants the early 80’s had some goofy things become trends or whatever
It’s a promotional hat from the eighties. Tobacco companies used to give away all kinds of awesome shit.
Hank III is a great guy. Appreciates metal and Country music from his families legendary days. Keep it coming bro.
Seems like a very humble, down to earth guy. Nice to hear someone telling stories that aren't horribly embellished.
the MOST humble...... his grand dad was Hank Williams and he still acts like a regular person - that is nearly impossible in this day and age.

The first time I heard this guy singing was on a college station, it sounded just like Hank Williams Senior but I knew it was not one of his songs. I shazamed it and ever since I've been hooked by the bag. This guy is one of the greatest. I put him right up there with his granddaddy.
He smashed it on the old superjoint albums. Sad to see a new bass player touring with them these days.
This guy is awesome and his combination of punk with country is amazing.
Such a music aficionado. Could there be a more talented guy? A nicer guy? Hank is really a hard working, down to earth, kind musician. A guy like this is rare. Much respect to Hank 3.
Hella respect! How could you not?
Really cool dude. I have hung out with him a couple times at some friends houses in Franklin, TN. Crazy as hell but kinda level at the same time. Of course everyone there had a chemical imbalance lol
I've been into punk rock and any roots music. Hank Williams was introduced early on. When I heard Hank III I was floored. Very talented
Hank III has always been my favorite Hank Williams.
True
Had no idea how unique and cool Hank III is. Super props to him for thinking for himself, being himself. A lot of the world today aren't able to make their own decisions and live.
I sold Hank 3 mushrooms before a show in Colorado. He was real humble and non assuming
Rob Bligidy I was wanting to go to his show in okc but I got to going a little to fast and didn't make it!!
How was the show?
Hes hella humble and laid back. I wheeled with him a few times.
I'm so fucking glad I got to see this. I'm from east Tennessee, I think Hank III is from middle Tennessee, but he and Assjack were pretty popular and relatable in the more rural counties. A bunch of us got the old country, and we got the punk, and this guy and his cohorts blended the two better than anyone. Great to get to know him better, and he is about like I expected. And that really pleases me.
Hope your doing good Hank 3 & hope you come back to Chi town burbs touring soon
FUCKING DRUGGIE!!!
Watch this vid over time repeatedly.

Hank3 IS music! Anyone who's been to one of his live shows will tell you that. I've been to hundreds of concerts over the past twenty years, and I've had the opportunity to see Hank3 four times. I can honestly say that no one puts as much heart and as much energy into their performance as Hank3. This guy goes hard! Name another performer that's willing or able to stand up there for 4 hours and make sure everyone in attendance gets more than they paid for. The only thing more impressive than his raw talent is his sincerity when talking to fans after the show. Can't wait till he's back out on the road.
Anyone calling themselves a music fan and passes on a Hank3 show deserves to be slapped
I thought he was superhuman when I saw him live, just like you said, 4 hours going hard. Country to stoner metal. I’ll never forget that show.
Same here. Shit was insane.
Between him and Wayne the train Hancock, I saw Wayne get released from jail, play for 3 hours, get the sound shut off on him, play acoustically for an hour then smoke weed and drink outside for another hour, 2 great and down to earth artist
Springsteen been putting on 4 hour shows full of energy for 40 years.
I was born in 74, and I recall the southern baptist church having rock-n-roll record breaking parties
Hank III's the man! It is really cool to see a little of his collection and learn about his inspirations. I listened to a lot of heavy metal and hardcore punk like the misfits when I was younger (still do now but not as much as I did) and I am really liking country now too. Hank III is one of my favorites, by listening to his music, he helped me to really learn to appreciate classic country and see how great it is. He seems like a cool person to meet as well!
I can relate to his upbringing. I also grow up & loved Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, & Country Music. My parents hated my taste in music. My parents were into motown. I liked Motown too; but I also loved my punk rock, heavy metal , & country music. I had an aunt named Aunt Dessie; who also loved country music; so I did have one person in the family; I could share my love of music. I was a rebel too. Mohawk, combat boots, & lots of punk rock music & attitude to go with it. It was my way of expressing myself to rebel against apartheid, corporate welfare, racism, poverty, corrupt politicians running the world. I can understand exactly what he is talking about. I had a very similar upbringing.
Representing Boone County, Wv with that Hasil Adkins album at the end there.. Respect! I live next door to Boone in Logan County. I've worked in many coal mines in Boone County over the last 15 years. Good friends with the Whites/Castles he sings about in "Legend of D. Ray White." Which he sings about Hasil in that also. I can still remember being out riding in the mountains drinking beer back in the day and running into Hasil and him jamming and singing, quite a few different times. We'd be many miles back in the mountains and you'd never know who you'd run into. Back then everybody rode in the mountains and partied. It was some of the best times of my life.. Hell the first time I met Jesco was back in the mountains back in like 96 or 97. Good times.
We still ridge ridge ride back on Heartland. Your right. You never know who you will see. Rode down behind East Lynn around Labor day. The music comes from the feeling.....
No More Hotdogs....
i like punk and country music i relate to both the same way
He's a very kind , intelligent well spoken young man. I have his first country CD. He sounds and looks like his granpa. I can understand why he wants his own identity his father went through the same thing. Walking in a Giants shaddow and rebelling. They would flatten the tires on Hank Jr s bus throw things at him but he overcame and rose above it. I hope and pray Hank lll finds his happiness some day.
Funny how he was casually handling and talking about that unreleased Hank album he has. It would probably be a good idea to put that in a vault somewhere. Lol.
How the hell could you resist the temptation of listening to it?
@@jeffreyvoth4272 He probably doesn't have a turntable that plays 78s.
😂I was laughing at that too.
@@christiandegges1663 why wouldn't he? They're not rare
It's not a 78. It's an acetate. Just like the Mothers Best Shows. It looks rough I don't know if they'd be able to transfer it.
I respect Hank III a lot because he's been what every Hank is, the voice of a generation of country folk. I love his music myself and if more people knew about him I think people my age would like him a lot, too.
I met Hank III at Crazy Horse Rec. park he did a show there on the 4th of July one year and he’s a hell of an entertainer, but he’s even more a hell of a guy he hung out with me and my buddies had a few beers and treated us like he knew us our whole life! This right here is one cool guy!!
That is so awesome

@Smoke A Shit Cigar PFF probably. The first version is punk, second is country.
@@davejradkins6564 hasil adkins is cool
Anyone who would participate in a tribute for GG Allin....dude was more troubled than his grandfather.
@@jeffreyb6165 I never thought artists ever respected GG Allin for his music but his attitude, always doing whatever he wanted, didn't change or bow down to anyone, a real "punk". Cause really most of the greatest punk bands could barely play music outside basic chords and rhythm signatures. It was about the message and attitude. The Sid Vicious is a icon and legend in punk, couldn't play bass if his life depended on it yet is one of the most famous bassist ever. It's a similar kinda thing with GG. Trust me, I never liked a thing Allin ever did but you have to admit the guy just did things the way he wanted whenever he wanted without caring about what anyone thought literally til he died. Lots of us would love to have those type of guts to say fuck you to everyone and everything and just do what we want and very few ever do. Even punk icons eventually sold out and showed they weren't truly hat they portrayed. Danzig for example. He wanted that money and changed to go get it. Anyways that's how I have always seen it. Hell I take GG over alot of music released this past decade. Everything continues to be watered down. Rock stars aren't rock stars anymore, hell rappers are more rockstars than anyone in any genre of rock today. It needs a figure head, a Elvis, a Lennon a zeplin, Misfits, Pistols, Van Halen, Metallica, Gun and Roses, Cobain and such to not be afraid to take chance on a sound and image and make the genre their own. Every rock group just seems so alike and no one wants to take chances. But the fans are to blame too. The compare everything and everyone to the past and seem and say no one will ever be better than this or them or whatever. Seems like they wanna stick to the past and not move forward and until someone steps up and becomes that modern icon, pop and rap are gonna lead the way as the music of the youth and for a genre to progress it needs to have the youth rebellion behind it. And rap is this generations rebel music. I wouldn't mind it if the stars had talent, but it's the laziest type of music making. 80% percent of the time it's not even the rapper as to why people like the song it's the beat which the producer made as to why these songs blow up. Most rappers sound the same. For past ten years seems like you get a new one who makes 2 maybe 3 "hit" songs and you never hear from them again. Rap seems to blow through artists so fast cause since it's such a easy way to make a song, these kids never spend years learning their craft and developing a sound and a mastery of it. It's why all pop and rap sound terrible live cause they use computers to fix everything and when on a live Mic they are shit. The rappers who have stuck around are one who have got their sound and ystem down and Kno what works. Look at all those XXL freshman from every year this past decade. You be lucky to find more than one who ever really did anything after peaking with their debut most years. 90% flash in the pan Artists. Also big problem is as we move forward with music streaming and everything, rappers don't make albums or only throw bunch of shit on it and say it's a album. They just realise singles. Cause they don't realize how hard it is to make a solid album that flows and stays strong throughout whole thing. They just make over hyped mixtapes just to follow their record contract. They know they just need that one banger to keep them good for a year. Anyways just had to vent. Just embarrassed by what music Is becoming if we stay on this path.
You gotta love how he's such an every-man. Doing his own thing while also performing his grand-dad's catalog and carrying that torch with pride. What a gift to all the generations
Ain't got much of Hank's stuff! A tie,gun and an unreleased record. What i would give.

I'm just discovering this fella now, what a cool dude. There's very little country I enjoy, but when it's good, there's not much better for the feel of it.
When Hank III started his music career, I thought, here we go with the trying to make a name for himself through his grandfather! But, in 2002 when I found out he was playing bass in Superjoint Ritual he earned my respect. He can never be accused of riding coattails and that's a fact.
it's good to see that this guy is his own man and not a hank williams impersonator. he does have the genuiness, sincereity, and frankness of his grandpa.
Dude, hell yeah. I've downloaded forever, starting to change over to vinyl, it's so much better.

So cool Hank III says Gary Neuman-"Cars" was a defining moment for him musically. Because that song and that artist WERE and ARE revolutionary but at the same time so far away from the music Hank 3 performs today. It's VERY early industrial/synth rock/outsider surreal electronic rock. Every great musician can appreciate Gary Neuman from the obvious fans like Trent Reznor to the "you would never believe he's a fan" artists like Hank III. I love Hank 3's music obviously but I am so happy he has such a diverse taste of music across so many genres himself. And more than that.....if you have ears and a brain you know Gary Neuman-Cars is just a bitching song with a great message.

I am a huge admirer of his grandfather's music. Anyone who knows about his life, surely appreciates that things are not as simple as we'd like to think they are, and if anything, Hank Williams and his music demonstrate what happens when faith and wanting to do the 'right thing' smacks head on into the realities of day to day life. Hank III always struck me as someone who has a lot of integrity - with his looks and so on, he could have milked his ancestry but chose not to. Still a big kick when he plays those great tunes though. More power to you Mr Williams.
