I feel like Jihyo is one of the very few idols who hasn't lost a single ounce of the passion for their job. Jihyo loves to sing and perform, you can clearly see her enjoying it
So true and especially when we talk about stage presence , i bet that there is no single stage where she has lost energy or feeling to perform , she is always energetic on stage for each and every second and she just gives her 200%
I have never seen Jihyo slacking off on stage. She is always energetic and gives her best every single time. She is very profesional. I think most of Twice members are like Jihyo too.
I personally think with taeyeon, she was genuinely annoyed with lip syncing becuase we've seen this with alot of sm artist and other artist . I would say aespa is also an example of this because alot of people have pointed out already how "they don't even hide it anymore". It's getting more and more obvious by the day and it's affecting their stage presence because they're truly showing how annoyed they are by it which we can't blame them for because they probably want to sing and show people that they aren't lip syncing
But its kind of bad to just be “annoyed” she at the least needs to make it look like she isnt annoyed. Just coz shes been in the industry for a long time doesnt mean she can act unprofessional amd slack off on dances
I'm not saying it's totally okay, but I think it's ~kinda~ valid bc Taeyeon has always sung live ever since. It's only just recently that SM made their artists, including her, lipsync on music shows and other stages. Remember when GD was told to lipsync? He refused and didn't even bother opening his mouth while performing an entire song. He was annoyed as hell.
Finally someone talking about male idols stage presence too!! Kpop youtubers always talk about how bad a female idols stage presence is but never talk about male idols stage presence
@@xkittyxxkatx I thought some male idols are not that good in stage presence. Not hate toward any idol. I just always see that people always criticize female idols for stage presence. Ex- Irene and Tzuyu and many more.
I would be annoyed too if i was Taeyeon. Imagine being a +30 year old woman with more than a full decade of successful career and one of the best voices in the industry and being told to sing "step back, step back, step back silly girl"
Yeah she doesn’t even try to hide her distaste for that song. I thought she even said herself she doesn’t like the song very much so I can’t blame her either!
Not to mention being forced to lip sync. Taeyeon has more than proven she can sing live with choreography, but SM constantly forces even their most successful vocalists to lip sync during comeback stages.
@@Ganaha_Celosia_Priskos still, she is still a professional. It's her job to perform and look like she is enjoying it. She should've sucked it and perform.

The first time she performed Drunk in Love (where she was on that spinning chair) and Run the World (where she had that background she was dancing with). In Drunk in Love, you see at one point that she's singing, but the mic isn't anywhere near her face. In Run the World, after the first chorus where they bring her an actual mic, the difference in her voice is very noticeable. She was tired after the demanding choreo, but then she's okay? What do you mean by that? Even though their stage presence needs improvement, the idols are hardworking and it does not deny the fact that being an idol was their dream. I’m sorry if I’m misunderstanding your comment, but that is just disrespectful to all idols. All idols are working towards their goal; you don’t need to shame them.
Depends, some can ge overworked and tired and are trying the best to their ability but everyone has their limits where you can only do so much until you collapse on your bed and fall asleep a second later. Why compare THE J-hope to a literal trainee? I get it that BTS doesn't really have someone with a bad stage presence but everyone here is agreeing that Jin is the weakest dance wise and performance wise. Either use another BTS member or just don't use BTS as an example. That trainee got done DIRTY 😭
Maybe it's just because none of them are bad at stage presence, she just chose the best one. EDIT: I never said anything about all bts members are the best at dancing, I only mentioned that they're not BAD. so why are you coming at me LOL. I am aware that Jin is not the best dancer in the group, he might be a little slow in catching particularly hard moves but that doesn't make him bad at dancing LOL. A lot of yall lack reading comprehension skills obviously and I can't believe I have to explain myself here lol.
Sehun and Kai both of them have different style of dancing, Kai gives sexy, flirty vibe where Sehun's steps are smooth and about facial expression... he has a rbf he can't do anything about it. Telling Sehun's stage presence as "bad" really was funny. All EXO members' stage presence is perfect in their own way, all of them have their own style.
As a former fan of them I can say it's ok to accept the fact that his stage presence doesn't keep up with someone like Kai's now does that mean he's a bad dancer oh definitely not but not everyone can be the best in everything and that's just one reason positions exist in kpop
I hope one day kpop fans will understand that stage presence is not only about being a good dancer. The best example is Tell me what is Love perf from Kyungsoo, nothing extravagant but with only his voice he managed to capture perfectly the public’s attention.
Honestly the only people that don't understand that are the people that are either new or don't really watch more than 1 group and think their faves are perfect.

@@saikochan7844 tbh i prefer they be real on stage so i can pick who to stan. but still.. the "i dont want to be on stage" idol also have some fans who preferred to stan them for the energy
Sehun'a is because it's the whole concept for him which stinks. He also contributes alot to the vocals but for performances they use him as a visual and rapper. It's annoying as an Exol to see him get kinda just used for his looks when he's talented. Taeyong tho is pissed they had to lipsync that song when it would have been 10x better live their vocals are insane.
Sehun is not bad at all. I often find my eyes glued on him, but he's almost always on the back so that's why you basically end up noticing Kai and the others more. Kai and Lay are more fluid with their movements and they're absolutely amazing in their field, but Sehun stage presence is actually good, I like the fact that he's not always exaggerating his movements. But like you already said, he's constantly used for his visuals :(
As an ExoL I think agree that he's not bad at dancing at all but I'd say mediocre and lack of stage presence. I've stan Kai for too long and he's the standard you can't blame me for that. But it's to the point that even Baekhyun main vocalist has way better stage presence than Sehun, a lead dancer. At times he can go hard but also looks soulless and no passion at all. He basically scouted for his visuals so..he really has no interest in performing unlike Kai and Baekhyun who auditioned bcs they want to
In BTS, Jin is the member with the least stage presence. Sometimes he looks like he struggles with facial expressions especially when he tries to look sexy
I think Chaeyoung CAN have good stage presence but is really inconsistent with it. For example she had amazing stage presence during Fancy but looked bored during Alcohol Free for example. Outside of Jihyo, Nayeon, Momo and Sana, I think Chae and Jeongyeon have the best stage presence after those 4. There is a wall from Sana to JeongChae though.
IF ONLY jype started to give her more rap lines in thier title tracks, we would love to see her ace her great position. It's a huge part of presence to show off her talents right?? But her, being a main rapper is useless i think for jype. :((
Shinee's Taemin has an insane stage presence too, I feel like a good stage presence doesn't only come from practice but it is just a natural talent some people have, making appropriate facial expressions while dancing is quite hard if you ask me especially if the choreography is hard so idols have to be charismatic and full of expressions in the first place to capture people's attention
Most of the time the charismatic people are those who move well on stage for example I think that's why Kai was mentioned too, dancers have better charisma than vocalists because they can succesfully show diffrent sides to them through multiple concepts
The things I have notice with SM idols os that when they lip sync they looks bored and unemotional but when they sings live their whole aura lit up, best example are D.O, Chenle, Renjun, Winter, Giselle, Taeyeon, Jungwoo, etc
tbh if I were Taeyeon I'd be annoyed too so I don't blame her if she was. The song was so hyped up and ended up being misogynistic and uncomfy (in my opinion). SM made a group of some of their biggest fem idols and had them sing ab tearing other women down over a man... v odd and not the vibe...
I have a genuine question, why is the song considered misogynistic? Like honestly? because as a woman, I didn’t feel like it was misogynistic at all. It’s one of my fav songs at the moment. When I heard it and looked at the English lyrics it sounded like a woman protecting her man and relationship from another woman who didn’t respect her or boundaries. It sounded like the woman talked about in the song was trying to cause trouble and try steal someone else’s man and ruin a relationship. The English lyrics even says something along the lines of “how dare you go over my head”, implying that the woman was trying to be trifling and go behind her back and go after a man who is already in a relationship. Of course everyone interprets things differently and has different viewpoints and opinions. But for me personally when a girl is trying to get at my guy and is being disrespectful to me I have no problem showing her he’s mine. I would never be disrespectful to her, but I would stand my ground and protect my relationship. And if a man made a song about how he’s not going to let another guy take his girl many would say he’s being a good and caring bf and that he loves his woman so much that he’s not willing to lose her. Sure, some would say he’s over protective or possessive, but most people would think it’s just a man showing how much he loves his girl and think it’s cute. I’m not saying the song is or isn’t misogynistic, just that I don’t think it is and I’m just genuinely confused as to why people think it is. I heard some people say that it’s women tearing down women and not being supportive of each other, but isn’t trying to take another girl’s man being non supportive of her and disrespectful? And it seemed that many people were just misandrist and disliked the fact that they were “attacking” another woman over a man. But that’s just how I feel about it and I wanted to hear others input on it.
@@quiriniagstevenson13 one of the key phrases of the song is "step back silly girl" and normally it might be okay to brush off as "setting boundaries", but the entire song isn't just about the girls setting boundaries. Instead, the lyrics go from "back off" to praising the man and then to basically slandering the woman they're speaking of (ex: "you're like a poison to the good boys". No longer is the woman they're singing about just a woman who doesn't know when to leave another woman's boyfriend alone, but now they speak on her character. The lyrics shift from "playing with your childhood memories" and referencing a young crush, to suddenly "don't delude yourself again" and "all eyes are on *me* when I appear". For a song that was meant to be sung by women of all ages ranging up to mature and experienced singers, the lyrics are immature and extreme. SM had an opportunity to use an all-women, multi-generational group sing about empowering women, but instead they gave them a song that praised a man the entire time and tore another woman down, slandering her character and "a lot more girls like you". Sorry for the ramble and I hope this helped! Thank you for asking about this! :) Pls don't misunderstand this as me hating on the idols involved, because this is not any commentary on them. I stan all of those women, which is why the debut song was even more disappointing.

as a dancer, unfortunately stage presence is often a natural ability and not a skill that can be learned. it’s kind of sad to see people ranked as good and bad when it’s just someone’s natural presence.
True... But there are a lot of skills a dancer can utilize though, to at least cap their abilities. Take Jihyo during a specific interview in the past. She practiced winking to blend in more with the cute concept. Another great example is Chaeryeong from ITZY. She recently expressed that she practiced smiling by watching her sunbaenim Red Velvet's Joy's performances, and it seemed effective in their latest comeback. Since the creator obvs didn’t put anyone as bad for bts cos of toxic armies bts are above constructive criticism but other groups/idols are so I will, Honestly everyone in bts has good to amazing stage presence apart from Jin my favourites being Jimin and Jhope, now I love Jin but that doesn’t magically make him have better stage presence now I’m not going to sit here and lie about how he’s never had an ounce of sp in his career cos that not true evidently in the truth untold and his solo performances like awake & epiphany he shines but in group ones hes not good at all, the problem with jin is he’s very much focused on the choreo so his facial expressions are next to nothing I mean it’s like u can see his mind focusing on not making a mistake making it look unnatural, he always looks incredibly awkward on stage it’s just not natural for him, he has no variety and doesn’t do well in being cute, sexy, mature, aggressive, sensual etc on stage. That’s the big difference between Jin and Rm who both rank bottom when it comes to dancing in BTS and whose skill set aren’t drastically different and that is RM has fantastic stage presence you can tell it’s not learnt and he just oozes natural aggression and sexiness which is why even if he isn’t that good of a dancer it doesn’t hinder his performers that much, he commands attention from his audience and knows how to hype them up making u inevitably focusing on him. Unlike Jin, namjoon just says f*ck it and instead of hyper focusing on the choreo he lets himself loose and enjoys himself.
All the artists there have amazing vocals but they had to lipsync bc of the aespa members there

Lmao what afraid about?
None in BTS have bad stage presence.
There is a wall from Sana to JeongChae though.
yeahh thats true!! she had a really good stage presence during their concert
completely agree with you💯
it seems like it depends on the concept
Thank you for appreciating Chae !!
IF ONLY jype started to give her more rap lines in thier title tracks, we would love to see her ace her great position. It's a huge part of presence to show off her talents right?? But her, being a main rapper is useless i think for jype. :((
Chaeyoung is one of my favorite idols and seeing how many people say bad things about her stage presence it hurts me :((
I agree! My eyes go to her alot! So idk what ppl are seeing 😂
I like her!! Her kitsch vibe and unique stage presence is actually a great contribution to the group I think
It’s just criticism, she’s been doing this for what almost 10 years? And looks completely uninterested while performing..
I would be annoyed too if I had to sing lyrics like the ones in step back

Kai is always a joy to watch on stage! The way he dances and his facial expressions are perfect.
It’s weird that you compared everyone else’s stage presence within the group except BTS. Why compare them with a person who isn’t even in the group?
🤣 why not
exactly what i thought lol
Exactly, even he was a trainee
No one in BTS has bad stage presence
pretty sure is bcs of how some army will react if they does:)))
He good good expressions no doubt but INSANE stage presence ? I dont think so
@@polarparrot5907
That's my personal opinion
True
Most of the time the charismatic people are those who move well on stage for example I think that's why Kai was mentioned too, dancers have better charisma than vocalists because they can succesfully show diffrent sides to them through multiple concepts
I was searching for this comment.. Idk how he is not in video
Taeyeon deserved to be annoyed with lipsyncing AND being thrown into GOT back to back with her comeback for INVU.
The things I have notice with SM idols os that when they lip sync they looks bored and unemotional but when they sings live their whole aura lit up, best example are D.O, Chenle, Renjun, Winter, Giselle, Taeyeon, Jungwoo, etc
it's funny how u compare a senior idol and literally a trainee lol
tbh if I were Taeyeon I'd be annoyed too so I don't blame her if she was.
@@quiriniagstevenson13 😐

Another good example of good stage presence. Tsuki from Billie!!! Omg that girl can go from a cute girl look to a serious girl look in less than half a second. Her dance moves are also very sharp while she is having those expressions and gives it her all to perform

@@SunePines yes I agree

as a dancer, unfortunately stage presence is often a natural ability and not a skill that can be learned. it’s kind of sad to see people ranked as good and bad when it’s just someone’s natural presence.
Tbh, it's all about practice, dedication, and confidence to pull this off.

Jhope and Jihyo are the best performer I have ever seen
Jin is an incredibly hardworking individual and gives his all when dancing but we’re talking about sp not dance and he just doesn’t have much
