I blame the live shows for slow sales and because of lives you get lowball buyers wanting items for next to nothing. I strongly encourage other poshmark sellers to write their displeasure about lives to their seller support.
Yes, that live shows notifications are so annoying and I don't know how to shut them off, they flood the stream, there is other app that is for live shows and actions, the posh shouldn't do that 😬
@@Julia-id4be I’ve talked to other resellers that do sell on whatnot, they said it’s good for quick sales but don’t expect to make more than you normally would with fixed priced listings. I watched a video from daily refinement where he did make 5k in sales but only 1k profit on whatnot for a live. Which 1k for a days worth of work is real good but if you could make more with fixed price listings? May not seem worth it in the long run, just imo

Any time I click into a live, it seems like a trashy garage sale - bad audio, bad lighting, obnoxious music…I click right back out again. I’m new to Poshmark and the live shows on my feel doesn’t seem to be very many viewers. If I’m wanting to shop I’m just typing what I’m looking for in the search bar I don’t have time to watch lives
I finally made the big decision to leave Poshmark after 6 years! I had been thinking about it for months and just decided I didn’t want to deal with them and what I see are oncoming changes as they are now testing for promoted closets etc. My sales just didn’t warrant all the attention needed moving forward. It was fun in the very beginning back in the early days but it’s just becoming too much of an emotional rollercoaster for me personally. I realized it was time to move on. I can’t lie it’s been really nice NOT seeing all the live show messages blowing my phone up constantly! Wishing you all the best! I’m still on eBay. Putting my focus on that for now.
Sales are dead on Posh. So sad. I refuse to do lives. Feel like the Posh is now a wholesale site. Maybe that’s what they want. But it brings down what our items are worth if you have the same item for sale!
I also think people may be panicking and lowering prices which makes all of us have to take less also. Good luck everyone and hope we all have lots of sales.
Poshmark used to be my favorite platform but now it’s an effort to even list over there. My total sales for May came to $186. Yes, for the whole month. I’m not a big-time seller but still used to average $7-800 per month. Now I’m concentrating more on EBay. It’s very different and there’s a lot to learn, but at least I’m making sales. Getting so many “likes” but no offers or purchases. I do think the live shows and summer slow down are having an impact. My Goodwill prices are also sky high. Not a good combo!

Oddly, man of my older items, low priced items sold this weekend...25 of them! The good news is that they are gone...the bad news is that was a lot of work for low profit items!
I have 250 items listed right now on eBay and sold 24 items since Thursday night and 10 on Poshmark. Even a $105 sale. Most items between 15-20 dollars. A few for 30-40 I always run a 20% off sale on eBay. I opened my eBay store may 14th. Crosslisted about 200 items from my posh store and have sold $4000 on eBay since opening! I’m selling way more on eBay than posh!

Live shows really have changed the Poshmark dynamic! I ended up going into my account and unfollowing every single person (over 40K people) just to stop receiving live show notifications. It worked, but took a lot of time 🤣
Poshmark has gone down since the the live shows. They have conditioned buyers to want things for under $10 so I get tons of low ball offers. I just ignore them bc I feel like Poshmark is now full of shoppers who are buying bc they can get tons of stuff for super cheap rather than because they really want those items. All my items come from the goodwill outlets so my cost of goods is very low and I can afford to sit on things for a while. One thing that I have learned since reselling is that if you have a good quality item and price it fairly it will sale eventually with out you marking it down +50%. I have have had stuff for 2 years that I get a notification that it sold for full price. This only happens with high quality products the cheap stuff you have to mark it down till it sales. My current strategy for my business is to try and sale out the cheap items that I never should have picked up to begin with and going forward to only pick up items that I know are made with quality fabrics like leather, linen, cashmere ect / and are in categories that just tend to sale well for me at a higher price regardless of the fabric content and style (plus size women's shoes size 10+). Since I shop only at the bins my cost of goods per items is the same regardless what I sale. Im focusing on a lower # of daily sales that bring in a higher profit margin versus selling tons of stuff and making $9 per item.

As more and more people start reselling, the buffer of product gets bigger and the race to the bottom more aggressive. It's going to get a lot worse over the next few years.
My sales have decreased and I blame live shows. I pretty much make all my money on live shows. I barely make any more sales regularly. I think it has to do with live shows prices, they are typically lower. And all my notifications now are for live shows and it's annoying.

Poshmark has been very glitchy. I still have features that don’t work. I’ve contacted them several times about it. Listings are loading very slowly, offers to likers feature wasn’t working, and the search was HORRIBLE! I mean you couldn’t find a dang thing. I searched for a j.crew dress and got 1 pair of shoes. Several listings came up in Google, but in Poshmark nothing would come up. I don’t think Poshmark is dead yet, but they will be if they don’t get it together. Is a shame that they seem to be ignoring what made them great in the first place. We don’t need another WhatNot. We have it! We need Poshmark to be Poshmark.
Yes. I have 1400 active listings and my sales are horrible. They have tanked since the lives shows and promoted closets. I just don't see it getting any better unfortunately.

Poshmark has been absolutely dead for me! I’m in beta for promoted listings too and it’s basically been crickets. Nothing but crazy lowballs. I’ve been listing more than ever before. The whole "Bins" things seems magical to me. We don't have one anywhere near me, and our Goodwills are too overpriced to allow much reselling activity. I still go on occasion and find a needle in a haystack. But they truly markup "known" brands so much ($12.99 for dresses, jeans and tops). I can't take a chance unless it's new with tags, which I DO find on occasion. $1.00 or less for something saleable would be a DREAM. I've been doing a lot of liquidation boxes and doing pretty well. I rarely cross list, pretty much just PM for the convenience and not having to monkey around with shipping. I'm still SUPER new, just having started in late December, 2022. My numbers average to a sale day. Pretty sad, I guess, but still having "fun". 😉 Thanks for sharing - always love your posts.
Hello. I’ve been reselling for seven years and Poshmark has never been this bad. I have over 1300 active listings and sells are horrible. Not to mention the ridiculous lowball offers.I’m getting. Very sad. Thank goodness for eBay or else I would be starving. I’m afraid if they don’t do away with the live shows, I’ll have to do away with Poshmark.
Has anyone considered that the items on live shows selling for so low $3/5 are stolen-product of shoplifting and they can unload on platforms easier than the flea market. We live in a society where shoplifting g is a career goal for some. Beth I think your videos are great, However haul videos sharing that the items come from the outlet for some make them feel entitled to only pay $5.00. A lot more goes into sourcing:gas, time, cleaning,repairing, listing and frequent trips to the post office. Plus all the fees we pay. Cheap entitled people never consider that. I had a record-breaking sales month in May (I have been selling-part time since Dec 2022) and now my sales are NEGLIGIBILE on Poshmark. I wish I had answers....I've heard some resellers say that June/July are their slowest months. Can anyone confirm this?
Yeah. So far June has been super slow. This weekend I had TWO sales. Worst ever. But, some of it could have something to do with me also. I haven't been listing as much as I usually do. And to be honest, the main thing that is discouraging me right now is gas prices. I don't know if it's effecting anyone else but with prices so high, it cutting into my profits too much. When gas was cheap, I would run around to three Goodwills in one day. It didn't matter so much because it only cost a little over $20 to fill up my car. Now, I don't want to use so much gas because it's costing me over $50! Instead of driving around, I have been ordering Goodwill Blue boxes which are OK but it's not as good as picking things out yourself.
I think no matter what platform you sell on, it is overall the product you sell that dictates the flow of sales. Just from reading all the very good comments that have been shared, it speaks to results being all over the place, some say Posh has been great, others left for Ebay and are doing well, while still others are saying the opposite. So, I just think you have to stick with the platform you choose and go forward, good or bad selling days. I am only on Poshmark and just in the past day have sold $400 in items in one day. But one guy liked what I had and bundled 16 athletic jerseys! Crazy! Then all of a sudden three more people bought one or two more each! I had literally just listed all of them an hour or so before. But items I have had in my closet for weeks didn't even get a look. So, it is hit or miss like anything else, I think. Love MogiBeth videos, though! Always informative!!

It’s definitely slower on Poshmark- maybe a third less than what I used to do. I personally think Mercari is dying- I have sold one thing this entire year and used to sell about one thing a week there.
Sales are slow everywhere including lives, however I do feel it is the season. I know another reseller who sells on Posh & Ebay and has slower sales but still good ones. I do feel economy is part of it but I also know that in different states many kids got out of school between 3rd week of May and this last week so families are on vacation mode while they can. Where i live kids start back up mid August for fall sports & classes so all the summer activies are done moslty in June early July then back to getting ready for school right after. I do feel things will get better in a month or so when people are looking for back to school then holiday will be jsut around the corner.

So far in June, I have had 30 sales on eBay and 57 on Poshmark, including 5 bundles; I had 9 Poshmark sales over Father's Day weekend so Poshmark is still doing okay for me. I had one on Mercari in June, lol. But I still cross-list things there, mainly plus size, because plus size seems the best for me on Mercari.
Poshmark is devaluing items by doing too much. My friend who just joined Poshmark messaged me instantly feeling horrified. She was overwhelmed by all the people commenting welcome messages and all the notifications popping in. She was so confused and scared. I gave it like 10th chance and find myself burned out, poor, exhausted and needing mental help once again. It’s so sad… I feel like before there was at least feeling of security that item will eventually sell, or sell for $5. Now it seems like there’s oceans of $5 items and your just drown in it. Go to sold section. All you see is $$4-$5 solds. I used to think that at least I’m getting back one dollar but now I’m realizing it’s not worth it. Also thrift stores are hiring persons who will price items accordingly to its brand value. Let’s face it! It’s all working agains resellers. Time to look for resources where you can build great trusty relationships for years to come. Someone who can supply you with goods that you’re able to turn for profit. That’s the only way. Thrift stores are not our friends anymore. They’re competitors.

I ran a sale on Posher VA and turned off my offers to likers. Forgot to turn it back on for a week!! 🤦🏼♀️ Was wondering why my sales were SO slow. I finally remembered and turned it back on and within 1 hour had 2 sales. Posher VA is my lifeline!! ❤

Dude, eBay for me is either feast or famine-I get great sales if I'm listing consistently, but if I happen taper off AT ALL, it all comes to a screeching halt, whereas on Poshmark it still always kinda trickles. My Posh sales have been consistent, not stellar, but then again, I haven't ramped up my listings like I'm hoping to do in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for a big sales uptick for all of us! Edit - also, the new editing is so slick and professional! Love that you're always improving!
I was part of the original beta group. During that 4 weeks sales were pretty good. I paid for the next 2 weeks and the sales tanked- even though I was paying for promotion. This week I did not pay for promotion and sales are still really bad. I think all activity is being directed to the beta group. It has been disappointing to say the least.
I have a friend who was in the beta group and they had very few sales, so who knows! I haven't tried it yet, but a paid promotion on top of a 20% fee (highest of all platforms) is asking a lot!

I’m in the beta group now and it’s the worst sales ever. I’ve sold 1 thing in the last 5 days (not even a promoted listing)! I’ve gotten the most ridiculous offers I’ve ever gotten though. Multiple per day!
So I’m definitely a smaller Poshmark seller compared to you but the last few months I was doing a sale a week & since June I’ve been doing 2 sales a week. So maybe it’s not dead. Yeaaaa that’s why I did a pivot to eBay. They are consistent with sales when you are consistent listing. Poshmark has been dead and a struggle since about April so I started focusing on eBay. It’s so sad how poshmark ended up being. The nerve to advertise post fest 🤣🤣
Can you give a newbie some advice? I only sell on PM, horrible sales after a few months trying. I have over 900 listings, send out offers to all likers, etc. What is the best way to transition to EBay? I do everything manually right now, no bots. I keep hearing about how easy it is to scammed on EBay! What are the major differences? TIA!
To be honest Poshmark is becoming place where they allow to sell not authentic luxury items and that makes me not want to shop on this platform. This should be not allowed
You don't have to weigh everything on Mercari. 3 lbs or less is always $9.50 with fed ex economy. I just select that for everything clothing wise - unless it's a formal dress or shoes.
I am also thinking Posh is doing some behind-the-scenes testing that could be resulting in our changed sales. My month isn't awful, but it's nowhere near where it should be comparatively. From my experience, to make the most money on the platform, you have to be consistently listing 20-30 new items per day. That's when you start seeing gross sales roll in at over 6 figures. If you're just listing 5 items a day, unless they are the hottest items, you just won't see the same numbers you used to. That coupled with whatever testing they are doing equals worse sales. Just my experience though!
Unfortunately that does not hold up. I was listing 30 items a day. Poshmark made changes 1st quarter last year and it pretty much turned my closet off. I went from selling consistently for years to nothing I did worked. Poshmark finally admitted to some sort of test and admitted that this had hurt sellers. Took 6 months to get any sort of traction on Poshmark but nothing like I was used to being in. I switched gears and focused on eBay.

For the last couple of months, I've had almost the exact same amount of sales on Mercari as I do on Poshmark...my advice: ditch your free shipping model on Mercari and cross list everything over there. I list 70% of stuff on Mercari without weighing it because im confident it's under a pound...I only weigh it if I think it might be more and then choose the shipping accordingly. People are willing to pay shipping and the margins are great!
Mercari has terrible seller protection compared to Poshmark though if something goes wrong just FYI. Be very careful selling anything valuable on Mercari. Their customer service is horrific.

Mogi, are you part of the Beta testing of promoted closets? I was selected, and while I’m not sure it’s been driving my sales up, I DEFINITELY have many more likes than I have been seeing over the last several months. My weekend wasn’t “record breaking” as yours was, but I don’t find myself convinced that I would invest in a promoted closet when it becomes widely available.
I started selling in August 2022. My last Poshmark sale was in April 2023. I was consistently selling before then, and it’s now been 2 months with zero sales, which is crazy. I made myself a promise that when I made $1,000 worth of profits I would buy something from Mogi Beth’s store for myself as a reward, but now that I’m seeing I’ll probably never get there, I’ll have to just treat myself a little early, lol.
I finally gave in and started cross listing on eBay. Had two sales right away that ended up being scams. 🤦🏻♀️ They sent me an offer, I accepted, they didn’t pay but sent me a message asking to do the transaction outside of eBay. They must of thought it was my first time at rodeo. Long story short…they never paid. I was so frustrated because I had to relist the items, so I just gave up on eBay. Mercari is saving me. Poshmark used to be hot with sales. Now they are totally dead. It’s shocking if I sell two items in a week on Poshmark. I think they have changed their business model so much and it’s not working. I don’t recall Mercari having so many changes and yet, I’m selling more items there than Poshmark. Poshmark was a great place to resell items five years ago. Too bad it’s gone down hill this past year.

I started on eBay then added poshmark last fall. I’m only part time but was doing okay-always better on eBay. But ever since poshmark started these live sales it sucks. I’m not interested in them and I understand I’m not alone in my sentiments. I even tried turning the notices off in my feed. When that didn’t work I wrote to them requesting to not receive the live sale notices. I was told they can’t be turned off (even tho it shows the option). I’m thinking of dropping poshmark and just sticking to eBay. Any comments?
I had 5 on Poshmark this weekend; that was with a 40 percent holiday weekend discount. My overall sales are awful though. eBay, I made the jump to a store, and scored 4 sales in one day. One Mercari at full price, which promptly cancelled.
I think it’s summer slowdown. I’m on vacation right now and at first I felt sad about taking time away from selling, but after the slow sales at the start of the month and others saying it’s slow, I don’t feel as bad about taking time off. Hopefully it will pick up for all of us soon!
I wonder if it might help on Mercari charging the buyer shipping only on items you can tell are under a pound? Bras, tanks, tees, etc? Posh was actually amazing for me this past weekend but it ebbs and flows.
Beth you have to realize: Sales overall across retail is down. Consumers are going to sports games, spending money on concerts, not clothing. 2nd Posh is still going through it's "live" show changes. I notice that there are a pileup of Live shows on Poshmark. It's becoming like QVC, where people tune in and watch and don't buy. 4th, almost everybody is selling on Posh now esp. since they started those TV ads. I'm thinking of reopening an EB store because my sales are much better on EB. For me, Merc is DEAD. I don't know what that site is doing.

Live shows really have changed the Poshmark dynamic! I ended up going into my account and unfollowing every single person (over 40K people) just to stop receiving live show notifications. It worked, but took a lot of time 🤣
LOL i was wondering how to stop those annoying notifications about live shows... i dont want to buy/ sell this way.

Poshmark has gone down since the the live shows. They have conditioned buyers to want things for under $10 so I get tons of low ball offers. I just ignore them bc I feel like Poshmark is now full of shoppers who are buying bc they can get tons of stuff for super cheap rather than because they really want those items. All my items come from the goodwill outlets so my cost of goods is very low and I can afford to sit on things for a while. One thing that I have learned since reselling is that if you have a good quality item and price it fairly it will sale eventually with out you marking it down +50%. I have have had stuff for 2 years that I get a notification that it sold for full price. This only happens with high quality products the cheap stuff you have to mark it down till it sales. My current strategy for my business is to try and sale out the cheap items that I never should have picked up to begin with and going forward to only pick up items that I know are made with quality fabrics like leather, linen, cashmere ect / and are in categories that just tend to sale well for me at a higher price regardless of the fabric content and style (plus size women's shoes size 10+). Since I shop only at the bins my cost of goods per items is the same regardless what I sale. Im focusing on a lower # of daily sales that bring in a higher profit margin versus selling tons of stuff and making $9 per item.

As more and more people start reselling, the buffer of product gets bigger and the race to the bottom more aggressive. It's going to get a lot worse over the next few years.
My sales have decreased and I blame live shows. I pretty much make all my money on live shows. I barely make any more sales regularly. I think it has to do with live shows prices, they are typically lower. And all my notifications now are for live shows and it's annoying.
Poshmark is dead. No sales for 4 days. Im really concerned. Live Shows are mostly to blame. Think I may have to give Ebay a try.

I’m working my tail off with Poshmark & I’m trying not to get discouraged. Honestly though, my sales last year were better. I’ve cross listed a few items to eBay & 3 sold which is encouraging for sure. Im strongly considering getting an eBay store.
I have 10 packages going out tomorrow, all Poshmark. 11 items sold, profit totaling $210.10. I was shocked at the amount of sales.
Poshmark has been very glitchy. I still have features that don’t work. I’ve contacted them several times about it. Listings are loading very slowly, offers to likers feature wasn’t working, and the search was HORRIBLE! I mean you couldn’t find a dang thing. I searched for a j.crew dress and got 1 pair of shoes. Several listings came up in Google, but in Poshmark nothing would come up. I don’t think Poshmark is dead yet, but they will be if they don’t get it together. Is a shame that they seem to be ignoring what made them great in the first place. We don’t need another WhatNot. We have it! We need Poshmark to be Poshmark.
My sales have been a bit lighter for June but I’ve also noticed that literally everyone is on vacation, especially where I live.
Yes. I have 1400 active listings and my sales are horrible. They have tanked since the lives shows and promoted closets. I just don't see it getting any better unfortunately.
Mine were too, which makes me wonder if the the promote feature took off already on Posh. Pretty upsetting.

Poshmark has been absolutely dead for me! I’m in beta for promoted listings too and it’s basically been crickets. Nothing but crazy lowballs. I’ve been listing more than ever before. Depop is dead, eBay is okay. I feel like I’m pulling teeth!

My sales are terrible on Poshmark this month. I can't understand why your sales aren't better, with 2000 listings and great items for sale. Just doesn't make sense!
The whole "Bins" things seems magical to me. We don't have one anywhere near me, and our Goodwills are too overpriced to allow much reselling activity. I still go on occasion and find a needle in a haystack. But they truly markup "known" brands so much ($12.99 for dresses, jeans and tops). I can't take a chance unless it's new with tags, which I DO find on occasion. $1.00 or less for something saleable would be a DREAM. I've been doing a lot of liquidation boxes and doing pretty well. I rarely cross list, pretty much just PM for the convenience and not having to monkey around with shipping. I'm still SUPER new, just having started in late December, 2022. My numbers average to a sale day. Pretty sad, I guess, but still having "fun". 😉

Hello. I’ve been reselling for seven years and Poshmark has never been this bad. I have over 1300 active listings and sells are horrible. Not to mention the ridiculous lowball offers.I’m getting. Very sad. Thank goodness for eBay or else I would be starving. I’m afraid if they don’t do away with the live shows, I’ll have to do away with Poshmark.
This is wild! I had a record breaking 4 days sat-tues. No idea, but thrilled. And then today. Nothing. No one.
Has anyone considered that the items on live shows selling for so low $3/5 are stolen-product of shoplifting and they can unload on platforms easier than the flea market. We live in a society where shoplifting g is a career goal for some. Beth I think your videos are great, However haul videos sharing that the items come from the outlet for some make them feel entitled to only pay $5.00. A lot more goes into sourcing:gas, time, cleaning,repairing, listing and frequent trips to the post office. Plus all the fees we pay. Cheap entitled people never consider that. I had a record-breaking sales month in May (I have been selling-part time since Dec 2022) and now my sales are NEGLIGIBILE on Poshmark. I wish I had answers....I've heard some resellers say that June/July are their slowest months. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah. So far June has been super slow. This weekend I had TWO sales. Worst ever. But, some of it could have something to do with me also. I haven't been listing as much as I usually do. And to be honest, the main thing that is discouraging me right now is gas prices. I don't know if it's effecting anyone else but with prices so high, it cutting into my profits too much. When gas was cheap, I would run around to three Goodwills in one day. It didn't matter so much because it only cost a little over $20 to fill up my car. Now, I don't want to use so much gas because it's costing me over $50! Instead of driving around, I have been ordering Goodwill Blue boxes which are OK but it's not as good as picking things out yourself.
I think no matter what platform you sell on, it is overall the product you sell that dictates the flow of sales. Just from reading all the very good comments that have been shared, it speaks to results being all over the place, some say Posh has been great, others left for Ebay and are doing well, while still others are saying the opposite. So, I just think you have to stick with the platform you choose and go forward, good or bad selling days. I am only on Poshmark and just in the past day have sold $400 in items in one day. But one guy liked what I had and bundled 16 athletic jerseys! Crazy! Then all of a sudden three more people bought one or two more each! I had literally just listed all of them an hour or so before. But items I have had in my closet for weeks didn't even get a look. So, it is hit or miss like anything else, I think. Love MogiBeth videos, though! Always informative!!

It’s definitely slower on Poshmark- maybe a third less than what I used to do. I personally think Mercari is dying- I have sold one thing this entire year and used to sell about one thing a week there.

Sales are slow everywhere including lives, however I do feel it is the season. I know another reseller who sells on Posh & Ebay and has slower sales but still good ones. I do feel economy is part of it but I also know that in different states many kids got out of school between 3rd week of May and this last week so families are on vacation mode while they can. Where i live kids start back up mid August for fall sports & classes so all the summer activies are done moslty in June early July then back to getting ready for school right after. I do feel things will get better in a month or so when people are looking for back to school then holiday will be jsut around the corner.
Same here! I’m so frustrated! Ever since poshmark started these live shows my sales have tanked. It’s turned into a garage sale and it seems they don’t care!

So far in June, I have had 30 sales on eBay and 57 on Poshmark, including 5 bundles; I had 9 Poshmark sales over Father's Day weekend so Poshmark is still doing okay for me. I had one on Mercari in June, lol. But I still cross-list things there, mainly plus size, because plus size seems the best for me on Mercari.
I agree about the plus size on Mercari. Torrid does so well for me there.
Poshmark is devaluing items by doing too much. My friend who just joined Poshmark messaged me instantly feeling horrified. She was overwhelmed by all the people commenting welcome messages and all the notifications popping in. She was so confused and scared.
I gave it like 10th chance and find myself burned out, poor, exhausted and needing mental help once again.

I feel like before there was at least feeling of security that item will eventually sell, or sell for $5. Now it seems like there’s oceans of $5 items and your just drown in it. Go to sold section. All you see is $$4-$5 solds. I used to think that at least I’m getting back one dollar but now I’m realizing it’s not worth it. Also thrift stores are hiring persons who will price items accordingly to its brand value. Let’s face it! It’s all working agains resellers. Time to look for resources where you can build great trusty relationships for years to come. Someone who can supply you with goods that you’re able to turn for profit. That’s the only way. Thrift stores are not our friends anymore. They’re competitors.

I ran a sale on Posher VA and turned off my offers to likers. Forgot to turn it back on for a week!! 🤦🏼♀️ Was wondering why my sales were SO slow. I finally remembered and turned it back on and within 1 hour had 2 sales. Posher VA is my lifeline!! ❤

Dude, eBay for me is either feast or famine-I get great sales if I'm listing consistently, but if I happen taper off AT ALL, it all comes to a screeching halt, whereas on Poshmark it still always kinda trickles. My Posh sales have been consistent, not stellar, but then again, I haven't ramped up my listings like I'm hoping to do in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for a big sales uptick for all of us!

I was part of the original beta group. During that 4 weeks sales were pretty good. I paid for the next 2 weeks and the sales tanked- even though I was paying for promotion. This week I did not pay for promotion and sales are still really bad. I think all activity is being directed to the beta group. It has been disappointing to say the least.
I have a friend who was in the beta group and they had very few sales, so who knows! I haven't tried it yet, but a paid promotion on top of a 20% fee (highest of all platforms) is asking a lot!
@@MogiBeth yes! It’s ridiculous to have to pay for promoting on top of the 20% Another Posher seems to think they will start charging to be on the platform too.
I’m in the beta group now and it’s the worst sales ever. I’ve sold 1 thing in the last 5 days (not even a promoted listing)! I’ve gotten the most ridiculous offers I’ve ever gotten though. Multiple per day!

So I’m definitely a smaller Poshmark seller compared to you but the last few months I was doing a sale a week & since June I’ve been doing 2 sales a week. So maybe it’s not dead. Maybe just on a small slump. It’s going up for me luckily. Hopefully it keeps going up. Keep up the videos, just subscribed 🙌
My sales are soooo slow ! It’s brutal, putting in more work and being more consistent this year vs last year but sales are down by half from the previous year 🤷♀️

Yeaaaa that’s why I did a pivot to eBay. They are consistent with sales when you are consistent listing. Poshmark has been dead and a struggle since about April so I started focusing on eBay. It’s so sad how poshmark ended up being. The nerve to advertise post fest 🤣🤣

I have over 900 listings, send out offers to all likers, etc. What is the best way to transition to EBay? I do everything manually right now, no bots. Sales are slow but I just try not to stress over it and keep listing but narrow down my sourcing Good job!
If your sales are slow consider thinking outside the box. Venture out from the safety zone and source something unique, weird, sexy, test the waters.
Mercari and Depop are blowing my Poshmark sales away. I haven't had a Poshmark sale in over a week and I'm listing 10 items a day. It's horrible.
To be honest Poshmark is becoming place where they allow to sell not authentic luxury items and that makes me not want to shop on this platform. This should be not allowed
You don't have to weigh everything on Mercari. 3 lbs or less is always $9.50 with fed ex economy. I just select that for everything clothing wise - unless it's a formal dress or shoes.
Can you schedule Fedex Pick up? My drop off boxes are at least 20 minutas away

I am also thinking Posh is doing some behind-the-scenes testing that could be resulting in our changed sales. My month isn't awful, but it's nowhere near where it should be comparatively. From my experience, to make the most money on the platform, you have to be consistently listing 20-30 new items per day. That's when you start seeing gross sales roll in at over 6 figures. If you're just listing 5 items a day, unless they are the hottest items, you just won't see the same numbers you used to. That coupled with whatever testing they are doing equals worse sales. Just my experience though!
Unfortunately that does not hold up. I was listing 30 items a day. Poshmark made changes 1st quarter last year and it pretty much turned my closet off. I went from selling consistently for years to nothing I did worked. Poshmark finally admitted to some sort of test and admitted that this had hurt sellers. Took 6 months to get any sort of traction on Poshmark but nothing like I was used to being in. I switched gears and focused on eBay.

For the last couple of months, I've had almost the exact same amount of sales on Mercari as I do on Poshmark...my advice: ditch your free shipping model on Mercari and cross list everything over there. I list 70% of stuff on Mercari without weighing it because im confident it's under a pound...I only weigh it if I think it might be more and then choose the shipping accordingly. People are willing to pay shipping and the margins are great!
Mercari has terrible seller protection compared to Poshmark though if something goes wrong just FYI. Be very careful selling anything valuable on Mercari. Their customer service is horrific.
I have sold a ton but only boutique items. My resell items haven’t moved! I think it’s turned into a garage sale due to the live shows

I was selected, and while I’m not sure it’s been driving my sales up, I DEFINITELY have many more likes than I have been seeing over the last several months. My weekend wasn’t “record breaking” as yours was, but I don’t find myself convinced that I would invest in a promoted closet when it becomes widely available.

I started selling in August 2022. My last Poshmark sale was in April 2023. I was consistently selling before then, and it’s now been 2 months with zero sales, which is crazy. I made myself a promise that when I made $1,000 worth of profits I would buy something from Mogi Beth’s store for myself as a reward, but now that I’m seeing I’ll probably never get there, I’ll have to just treat myself a little early, lol.

I finally gave in and started cross listing on eBay. Had two sales right away that ended up being scams. 🤦🏻♀️ They sent me an offer, I accepted, they didn’t pay but sent me a message asking to do the transaction outside of eBay. They must of thought it was my first time at rodeo. Long story short…they never paid. I was so frustrated because I had to relist the items, so I just gave up on eBay. Mercari is saving me. Poshmark used to be hot with sales. Now they are totally dead. It’s shocking if I sell two items in a week on Poshmark. I think they have changed their business model so much and it’s not working. I don’t recall Mercari having so many changes and yet, I’m selling more items there than Poshmark. Poshmark was a great place to resell items five years ago. Too bad it’s gone down hill this past year.

I started on eBay then added poshmark last fall. I’m only part time but was doing okay-always better on eBay. But ever since poshmark started these live sales it sucks. I’m not interested in them and I understand I’m not alone in my sentiments. I even tried turning the notices off in my feed. When that didn’t work I wrote to them requesting to not receive the live sale notices. I was told they can’t be turned off (even tho it shows the option). I’m thinking of dropping poshmark and just sticking to eBay. Any comments?
Are you using stock photos on eBay? I have heard that is risky on there and that you risk a VERO and complaint/strike
I had 5 on Poshmark this weekend; that was with a 40 percent holiday weekend discount. My overall sales are awful though. eBay, I made the jump to a store, and scored 4 sales in one day. One Mercari at full price, which promptly cancelled.
I think it’s summer slowdown. I’m on vacation right now and at first I felt sad about taking time away from selling, but after the slow sales at the start of the month and others saying it’s slow, I don’t feel as bad about taking time off. Hopefully it will pick up for all of us soon!

Beth you have to realize: Sales overall across retail is down. Consumers are going to sports games, spending money on concerts, not clothing. 2nd Posh is still going through it's "live" show changes. I notice that there are a pileup of Live shows on Poshmark. It's becoming like QVC, where people tune in and watch and don't buy. 4th, almost everybody is selling on Posh now esp. since they started those TV ads.
I'm thinking of reopening an EB store because my sales are much better on EB. For me, Merc is DEAD. I don't know what that site is doing.
