So the reason there's Monolith in Lab X-16 is because in Stalker: Clear Sky, which takes place a few weeks prior to Shadow of Chornobyl, you help a squad disable the psi-emitter. So between the events of Clear Sky and Shadow of Chornobyl, the Monolith raided Lab X-16 to reactivate the psi-emitter in an attempt to close off access to the north of the Zone once more. Excellent video man. A note about the bodies outside Rostok in the Duty base: They use the model for unarmed zombies from the beta version of the game that got cut before release. One interesting note about the weapon and gear degradation. The game was originally planned to have a repair mechanism which let you pay certain traders to repair your items. This feature had to be cut at the last minute because the developers ran out of time and were only able to complete the weapon degradation feature. A community made mod, S.T.A.L.E.R. Complete 2009, patches some bugs and adds the repair mechanism back into the game, along with some graphical enhancements.
@@AustinSmith-lo3ts sometime in the future! I’m getting burnt out on Stalker right now and don’t want to commit to a project in that mindset, could deteriorate the quality. I have other games I want to cover right now. But clear sky will be my next project after that
It's wonderful how the release of STALKER 2 makes people discover Shadow of Chernobyl. Still one of my top 3 games of all time for its unparalleled tense athmosphere, world building as well as the story, how it unfolds and the implications. The other 2 fell mostly flat for me, with Call of Pripyat being the worst for having none of the tense athmosphere. Lab X-18 is an experience the first time around; the quiet eerieness punctuated by ambient sounds is fantastic. STALKER is sometimes also called heart attack simulator for a reason. Sidenote: Play the game on highest difficulty. On lower difficulties, some enemy effects are missing, such as psy damage (that you can't heal and that takes a long while to heal on its own) and the ambient noise of nearby controllers. For example, the apparitions near the brain scorcher do nothing on lower difficulties, but on the highest, they deal psy damage. You're missing out if you don't play on the highest difficulty. The firefights aren't much different anyway. Great video and I didn't notice anything with the speech :) EDIT: The special TRS is my go-to gun, too. Easy headshots all day. Also, if you had went to the bloodsucker village at highest difficulty, you'd have constantly heard ambient controller sounds (ear ringing) and distorted vision - making it that much more creepy.
@@firun2635 I was playing on master. And I took a ton of psi damage when I was in the dark valley, wasted all my supplies, I even died to the hallucinations lol. You can see in the video just how fast I die to NPC’s it’s ridiculous, felt unfair at times lol. My brother urged me to play master because it’s the true stalker experience he said. Thanks for watching
Another thing for the controller, if you charge it and get close it can't attack you. It's really slow so you can run past it and get behind it and just gun it down
@@Kazaonyt no worries! as stated above, I know it objectively/in general does not matter at all- I just personally/subjectively cared about putting it right haha. keep up the good work!
The early game lack of damage is tied to difficulty, basically the og game would've had just one setting it being the hardest one. Publishers wanted multiple difficulty settings so they just bumped down the bullet damage so yeah, for the best experience just play in the highest difficulty setting
39:46 Duty Propaganda Also in repsonse to your comment I really didnt even notice a speech impediment you sound perfectly fine Also emissions and psy-storms are the zones defenses for people trying to harm or destroy it and the zone grows little by little with them so duty trying to destroy it would most likely make it worse. Which is also why the duty faction is even in existence in the first place because of one of the failed military plans to destroy the zone. Fyi you are probably my favorite person thats new to the zone after this video. you seem alot more genuine then others that are around nowadays
Thanks for clearing some stuff up, I'm very new to the franchise so my lore knowledge isn't going to be amazing but i am starting to get obsessed with it lol
2:00 the reactor didn't have a second explosion* I think that the creation of The Zone and emissions are all related to the Generators. Radiations were spread just because the damaged reactor was located less than 1 kilometer away from the Generators
@@cryptocrypto5260 well I can’t give the real reason as to what happened too early because that’s a spoiler. The creation of the zone is meant to be a secret until the end, but people believed it was a second explosion because there was a loud bang

@@OwOchina it’s an awful situation that I can’t put into words. I wanted to avoid anything political in this video simply I want it to be an escapism kind of video. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
actually ... you can repair armor :) if you have artefacts that boost a resistance like shockresistance for example you can equip a few of those to get your resistance OVER 100% and then let that type of damage hit you :) you will be hit with negative damage and thus heal and it will repair your armor instead
Nonsense regarding the reason to swap from TT-33. 7.62x25mm is not stronger than 9x18mm. It was replaced due to the TT not having enough stopping power due to its small caliber. Second reason was technical issues with the TT-33 mechanism. It could randomly go full auto if not maintained right. Makarov fixed all the issues TT had at the time.
@@kurtvollmer2023 I’d liked to know your source for this. You know, for future reference lol. After researching further, I found nothing suggesting that 9x18 is more powerful than 7.62x25 simply because its a smaller cartridge with less powder. The 7.62x25 has a higher velocity due to it having a slightly larger case, this gave it more recoil. also the TT had a larger barrel which made the bullet more accurate at the cost of the gun weighing more. I have no idea where you read that the tt had less stopping power because that just isn't true. 9x18 has a slightly larger diameter which can cause more damage. However, it has less powder and is shooting out of a 3.6 inch barrel. The tt-33 has a 4.6 inch barrel shooing a more violent round. the velocity of that bullet is going to carry more energy, thus doing more damage. But the soviets thought it was too much for a service pistol. So they replaced it with a lighter option, which makes sense. Why carry a heavy pistol around when it rarely gets used. A lighter pistol makes more sense and is cheaper. Also, many posts suggest the TT-33 was fairly reliable.
@@kyizelma Spoiler warning: It was neither. In 2006, there was an emission caused by the group that birthed a “new” zone. It was perceived as an explosion due to it sounding like lighting and there being an earth quake. This is what created the anomalies and caused mutations of life within the zone. This was labeled as the ‘second disaster’ I obviously couldn’t go into detail at the beginning because that would be spoiling the story too early
when you said that moonlight was rare, I was so confused because during my first play through I randomly stumble across two of them and now they sit in my ass forever
Is it really the best??? FUCKKCKCKC I went in blind so i had no idea what weapons were the best, just went off first impressions lol. Only thing i knew was that apparently the F2000 was the best
Sadly not. I think it's better this way though. Makes certain weapons feel more special and you will have to adapt to new equipment frequently. I personally think this enhances the survival aspect of the game more. Scavenging for a new gun during a fight makes things feel much more tense as you won't be able to rely on one weapon to carry. It makes the game a lot more unpredictable. But this is just my opinion
@@BlueWaffle3 Yeah mate. Spent two months playing, researching and then editing it into a video that’s over 1 hour long to play the algorithm game. Nice one

Complete 2009, patches some bugs and adds the repair mechanism back into the game, along with some graphical enhancements.
that was a very good video thanks for the good work stalker !

Such an underrated video ❤

39:46 Duty Propaganda
Also in repsonse to your comment I really didnt even notice a speech impediment you sound perfectly fine
Also emissions and psy-storms are the zones defenses for people trying to harm or destroy it and the zone grows little by little with them so duty trying to destroy it would most likely make it worse. Which is also why the duty faction is even in existence in the first place because of one of the failed military plans to destroy the zone.
Fyi you are probably my favorite person thats new to the zone after this video. you seem alot more genuine then others that are around nowadays

2:00 the reactor didn't have a second explosion*
I think that the creation of The Zone and emissions are all related to the Generators. Radiations were spread just because the damaged reactor was located less than 1 kilometer away from the Generators
@@cryptocrypto5260 well I can’t give the real reason as to what happened too early because that’s a spoiler. The creation of the zone is meant to be a secret until the end, but people believed it was a second explosion because there was a loud bang

if you have artefacts that boost a resistance like shockresistance for example you can equip a few of those to get your resistance OVER 100% and then let that type of damage hit you :) you will be hit with negative damage and thus heal and it will repair your armor instead

Also, many posts suggest the TT-33 was fairly reliable.
correction: the reactor didnt have a second meltdown it was the storage for the radioactive materials having a accident
@@kyizelma Spoiler warning:
It was neither. In 2006, there was an emission caused by the group that birthed a “new” zone. It was perceived as an explosion due to it sounding like lighting and there being an earth quake. This is what created the anomalies and caused mutations of life within the zone. This was labeled as the ‘second disaster’
I obviously couldn’t go into detail at the beginning because that would be spoiling the story too early
The snorks appear to be wearing the uniform of the Soviets from the 1980s.

Pretty sure you can fix up your gear if you talk to some traders like the barkeep, they fix up your gear at a price
