2010 -2015 Camaro V6 | Oil & Filter Change | Maintenance Reset

So it is that time again to change the oil and oil filters for my family’s cars. Since, my Daughter wants to learn more about cars, she is working with me today to change all of our cars Engine oil and. This video is specifically for my 2015 Chevy Camaro 2LS. However, most everything should be similar with all years within 2010-2015. Check your manual for specifics to be sure. Additionally, SS, Z28 & ZL1 models will have further specifications for what types of oil and filters to use. This video is only intended as quick reference for the basics of this maintenance procedure and is catered specifically to a 2015 Chevy Camaro. The parts and tools we used are directly below.
Supplies:
Oil Filter:
- Different Auto Parts Stores will have varying company stamped Oil Filters. I bought mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts Store
- FRAM Extra Guard CH8765, 10K Mile Change Interval Cartridge Oil Filter

Oil:
- Use a Full Synthetic Oil. The DEXOS 1 symbol should be on the container. (DEXOS 2 works too)

- 7 quarts are required, but make sure you check your dipstick to ensure proper fill levels. First clean the dipstick, then recheck. The oil should be visible between the 2 round detents on the end of the dipstick.
- 5W30 as backups types.
Tools (2015 shown below, other year models vary slightly):
- Engine Drain Plug: 15mm Socket
- Filter Cap Lug: 26mm Socket
