Since he's not the main character, he's actually allowed to showed personality. They originally planned on making it Mario's Mansion but Mario isn't allowed to show fear or any other character emotions really besides occasional joy. Luigi is the best of the two brothers in my opinion.
When I was like, 6 years old, I also got no ghosts on my first try there. I don't think I even made any progress past Chauncey until a year or so later.
Luigi's Mansion is one of my all time favorite Mario games, I like how it's still a little spooky especially because it was originally going to be the first T-rated Mario game and was going to be much scarier, I like what they did in the final game
In this game, Professor Egghead recommends Loogie to the Ghostbusters, even though Loogie knows nothing about ghost hunting. He takes the opportunity to film a terrible on-camera ghost-hunting TV program called Specter Stories and ends up having to stop his brother from playing Mario 64 too much.

My favorite game of all time. Came out when I was a month old. Love the atmosphere in the game when I played it when I was super young it took me YEARS to beat. Now I just did it again at 17 years old and still a great quality game.
I loved how this game had a scary atmosphere, it terrified me as a kid. That was what disappointed me about the sequel, it felt a lot more lighthearted and less scary. I mean, I guess it makes sense, but I was hoping it would feel the same as the first game. I loved the gameplay of the second one, and how much different it played from the first game, but I felt it relied too much on comedy rather than horror.
pyrolex Dark Moon could've been so good. If they just dimmed the lights and turned the music off in some sections then it would've really helped in attempting to emulate the atmosphere of this game. Something that really bummed me out was the lack of unique ghosts like the bosses in this game.

Luigi's Mansion holds a special place in my heart where I was watching G4 with my dad and they were showing the trailer for Dark Moon (at the time it was called Luigi's Mansion) I quickly became really interested in trying the game out and that year on my birthday I went into a local mom and pop game shop and they had a copy however I didn't own a memory card so if I died I'd have to start all over again eventually I got good enough at the game where I beat it in one sitting without dying however when Dark Moon eventually came out I was extremely disappointed anyway I hope you enjoy a game that I hold dear to my heart
I feel as if this game was supposed to pay homage to the classic Resident Evil/Biohazard games, what with the door opening animations, the map interface, all that jazz. Anyone else notice that? I've never played this game myself, just because I didn't own a GameCube at the time this was released, I went from N64, to PS2, then to the Wii.
The First one is superior to the 3ds one, mostly because it has way more exploration, character design and puzzles based on those characters... The 3ds one is way too linear for its own good.
