@@jannik207 It's most likely because he's American. Our states, generally, are so huge that around 300 miles is how much it takes to get from one end to another. For example from one end of Texas to another is 870 miles (1400km). Us Americans don't exactly have a sense of scale for Europe as most of us haven't experienced how truly small it is in comparison to the majority of our states.
Man, that percentage they give is deceiving. I wouldn't consider any of those guesses that close to the actual answer, even though I realize it's relatively close on a global scale
@@cliffworsfold1994 i understand, but how can it be deceiving when you pair it with the distance in km? Percentage is good data, provided you interpret it well.
If you see these terth its obvipis that a) its coastline and b) that its extremely small, so that thia kinda thing is noticable enough to be a part of the border. Sooooo yeah it was a very easy one once you realise its in Europe.
The number of small countries / territories in Europe is high ahah Monaco, Vatican, Andorra, San Marino, Malta, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Feroe Islands... There is lot :D
Idk, I was so triggered watching this as an American. It felt like he had a great sense of distances for the first 1-2 guesses and then his brain disengaged. Like he guessed a couple countries in the balkans and that gave him all the info he needed to calibrate distances in that region and he didn't seem to realize at all. And the fact that he could look at that shape and not be 100% sure it had to be minescule absolutely boggles my mind.
@@jannik207 I think one we have a bad bearing of the kilometer and also overestimate the size of Europe. For example Kosovo to Monaco is about the same distance as east Texas to West texas. Therefore we tend to pick countries closer to the original guess.
@@Scyborg832 but he guessed multiple countries in the balkans, saw that the numbers changed by less that 200km, then kept saying "yup, must be right in that area". There was absolutely no excuse for that and it was mind boggling to watch.
What is most strange to me is that between the first and second guess he was about 3000 kms closer. That's from the middle east to Europe, with 1000 kms left, how can you then guess nations that border Kosovo?
Formula 1 fans got that country immediatly lol
I'm usually terrible at these, this is the first one I got straight away! Yep, I watch F1 :)
True lol, that harbour is iconic
Monaco 🇲🇨
Or you can tell it’s a small country on the ocean because you can see the boat docks from the outline so the only country that could be is Monaco
bro 1000 km is like about half europe
lol, Eric has no understanding of how much 1000km is on the map
600 km from Slovenia? Yeah, let's think about Tunisia
It’s only about 900km, not that far off
@@ZZzz_ProductionZ_zzZZ Yeah, that wasn't a bad guess
@@ZZzz_ProductionZ_zzZZ ...but saying that it borders Slovenia is a terrible guess

You gotta look at the distances more carefully... 700km away, that almost certainly does not border country you just guessed in Europe.

That number is the distance in kilometres
@@RealHogweed the percentage? (%)
@@cliffworsfold1994 no, the number next to the country name

"theres all these countries close together" I'm like Eric the country you're looking for is 1000km away from there
How do you not instantly see that it’s a harbor
Yeah, the harbor not only says coastal, but also shows you scale. So you immediately know coastal city-state. Really narrows it down.
Jay Foreman taught me that Little Monaco's so tiny you can see the piers within.
Chile's very very very very very long and thin

He did way better than most American
Mon- 😀

holy shit, americans and maps.
Love Eric, but com'on Tunisia?! I guess he is American after all ;)
He's Canadian

Monaco, Vatican, Andorra, San Marino, Malta, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Feroe Islands... There is lot :D
Cyprus aint that small though, same with Luxembourg, deffo not as small as say Monaco or Liechtenstein.
As an American it really is a struggle to comprehend that 600km in Europe can mean two countries over, or more
Ha my country's width is like 250 km wide
Yeah, it’s much closer to the US if you think of countries like US states
I know this is frustrating to watch as a European, but most Americans wouldnt even know half of the countries he guessed, so don't be too harsh...
Yeah, but KOSOVO
this is frustrating to watch as someone from the us, cant imagine what it’s like for a european

I remember I got this random first try
"It's 1000km away"
"so you mean the neighbor"
dafuq?
The teeth are actually docks where the boats dock and stuff
Monaco, guessed in 2 seconds
Being an F1 fan from Canada, this was the easiest Wordle so far lol

Don't wanna be harsh but his understanding of distance is terrible... :o
Maybe it's because he lives in a country where our states and regions are larger than most of Europe's entire countries.

OK, this has to be the only clip on this channel that was painful for me to watch. Especially as an European, lol!
I got it in 1 cos of the bay or harbour whatever it is called
Why does he keep guessing eastern europe when he's a 1000km away?
He got a brainectomy after his first two guesses
giraffe
anyone who's been there got it immediately lol
its monaco
You streaming soon, Eric?
Do squardle! Maybe?
It should border Slovenia.
wow couldn't do monaco great
those are piers
You need to learn how to use distances. Change the distance to miles instead of kilometers. You might do better.
Using miles is even worse that playing the London System.
your european geography is not great lmao
