Non watch people will probably not get it, but I spent more than 2 months salary on a Tudor Black Bay 58 two years ago, and I am so glad I did. The feel and quality is amazing (having previously worn a Seiko SNK809) and it really makes me feel special wearing it.

Two things as a relative newcomer to your channel:
    1. I'd love you to go through your desktop setup - you briefly showed it here but I'm curious about the organization/placement of your desk and office setup.
    2. Completely unrelated but you have a great voice for ASMR like they have on meditation apps.

I run marathons and high quality running shoes are a must, they take good care of your feet and hold up to the hundreds of miles of training. Also a Rolex Explorer...I waited years to find one and once I got it its the only watch I wear unless I'm running, then I use my Garmin.

The things I don't regret buying that was actually expensive, are my Helite Turtle airbag vest and a complementary Dainese leather vest, the turtle saved my neck when I got rammed by and old lady who "forgot to hit the brakes" and the Dainese saved my skin when I slid 20m's. Great list Brock.

Two things come to mind that are worth the cost
If you're into coffee, a proper flat burr grinder is absolutely worth the price and even if you aren't especially into music a good set of speakers (ideally floor standing) + amp + cables (and maybe a turntable) is often a 'buy it for life' type purchase

Most antiperspirants are also deodorants (like Jack Black Pit Boss). I find some antiperspirants to be irritating, but not this one. I haven't had luck with aluminum free deodorants.

A personally created "saying" of mine is, "one thing worse than spending a lot of money on something is spending a lot of money and not getting what you wanted." Words to live by that have never failed me. I don't splurge, but I do spend money strategically. I have no problem buying generic or store brand canned foods and staples, but then turn around and pay a high price on expensive brand gourmet cheese. Spend the money where it actually makes a difference.

Those Roland e-drums are a great choice. Me and my son went through a number of electronic kits over a few years, starting with the cheapest Yamahas and moving up to the Rolands (I think a slightly different model but around the same level), trying SO many in between, and the difference between cheap ones and expensive ones is so, so huge, there are no diminishing returns involved.
I noticed the Korg SP-250 digital piano behind the drums too - I owned those forever and would always tell people that those are such a hidden gem as far as a cheap keyboard with really great action - obviously very subjective, but I tried so many keyboards before I bought mine (10+ years ago) and that keybed was by far my favourite. They "upgraded" that model to the 280 later, but put in a much worse keybed, perhaps regretting putting one in a budget piano that they also put in their high end models.

Always great Brock. 👍. We bought an all latex bed many years ago and have never regretted it. They aren't cheap but it will be the last bed you ever buy - they never sag - ever. In France they make a mattress cover that stops any staining and doesn't feel plastic - good for little kids... etc. Airpod Pro is my daily driver but when I really want noise cancellation and/or duration, I reach for the Bose wired QC 20. Great for long flights or when you are listening all day. Unfortunately, it looks like they don't make them anymore. Some are still available form retailers if you hurry. All the best!

Hey Brock, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your content-it's super engaging and keeps me hooked every time! I did notice that the audio is a bit sibilant, and the excessive 's' sounds can be a bit distracting from the story. You might want to try using a de-esser to smooth that out. If you need any help with sorting out the audio for your videos, I'd be more than happy to assist! Keep up the great work!

Great video, Brock, Im definitely going to look into better orthotic inserts.
High quality kitchen knives are always a worthwhile investment, in my opinion. I love to cook, and the difference in sharpness, balance, and edge retention from the japanese knives Ive bought over the years has really made even more exciting to get into the kitchen, even with the added maintenance. I really suggest finding a local knife shop to help you find the right knife and steel for your needs!
Im also currently in the process of upgrading my bedding from the cheap stuff Ive had since college. I sleep hot and so Ive invested in some Canadian made linens, and so far the difference in sleep quality (and sweat) has been immediately noticeable.

Except before I left home to collect it, my daughter - who has just started her Master’s and is travelling by train 3 hours daily - broke her phone and couldn’t access her e-ticket. So I picked up my new 16 Pro, came home, and handed it to her when she got back after her 14 hour day of commuting, lectures and studying. Because that’s what dad’s do I guess!

I have some items which are expensive but I consider them “Money well spent” . After I started following the Modest Man channel I realised the importance of a good wrist watch that fits perfectly for my slender wrist . After saving up for a month I bought my first dress watch i.e orient bambino 5s 36mm in Rose( Same as Brock’s Bambino ) . Then instead of having several clothes that doesn’t fit well I got 2 MTM dress pants , 4 Levi’s 511 Jeans , 2 dress shirts and couple of casual shirts . One might think these things aren’t that expensive but in India these are considered expensive for average person. But I really enjoy having all these things , in simple words it makes me feel like I worth Billion dollars 😇.

They can be a bit recalcitrant at first but proper feeding and Maintenace seems to resolve this issue quickly. Also, there is no question that they have the best styling of any mail order bride, beautiful design lines.

I spent a bit more on a commuter backpack from Patagonia that ended up being a huge upgrade over the one I'd been using. I initially bought it because I needed a second bag on the way back from a trip to Portland (probably not the worst place to be shopping for a bag). It's been a gamechanger. I'm feeling like I should throw my old one out, but I'm struggling to part with it.
Also, I sprung for some Sony xm4 over ear headphones a couple years ago and they've been magical. Not top of the line or anything audiophiles would think too much of, but they're really comfortable and being able to stay connected to multiple devices is really nice. The carrying case doesn't hurt, either. They fold up nicely and the case provides a safe, snug, permanent place in that backpack I purchased.

I haven't made as many expensive purchases as Brock has, but I can attest to some of them.
I have an old pair of NB 998 made in the USA, and they are amazing. Mine are about 7 years old and I still wear them. They're miles better than their regular stuff.
I have a sranding desk myself, spent about $700-$800 on it. Absolutely love it, and for my purposes, it works great. I hardly ever sit down to work anymore, and I love that it's a huge desk (around 4.5 x 2.5 feet) so it fits a lot of stuff.
The last expensive purchase that I think is worth the money is Uber Black 😅. I really like being driven in nice cars once in a while

Great post. I too am willing to invest more into something I like and especially if I use it often or it improves quality of life. Regarding some of your points, Maui Jim are my general go to for sunglasses. I have several pairs in different styles and colors. I have some prescription frames from them too but they’ve since exited that business. For grills, I’m a Big Green Egg guy. I mainly sous vide steaks though and for that you need a good sear and I use a BB Prime for that. Seeing that you drum makes me smile. My Pearl Masterworks kit I’ve had for 2 decades is my baby. Your Roland kit though is nice, portable, and has a multitude of sound profiles. On the watch side, I’ve a few Omega’s and a Tag I like. Coincidentally, I just looked at some Nomos pieces last Friday as a friend’s shop just started carrying them. I’m not quite sold on their design language yet but maybe it will grow on me. I've heard of them and will have to read them! I've been working through a list of timeless classics, currently, the count of Monte Cristo, which is phenomenal. 💪 A couple of my favorites were:
-The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boon
      - Billy Bud
      - Maltese Falcon
      - Michael Strogoff
      - Gifted Hands by Ben Carson
I could go on and on about how great each of these are too.😊
Kind of funny, when I think back to previous audiobooks, I remember vividly the place I spent the majority listening to that book. Do you remember where you were when you listened to certain books? It feels almost like what I would imagine travelling back in time would feel like.

This is crazy. Must be our age group, I’m 53, assuming you’re around the same, but…..we own so much of the same stuff that it makes me want to investigate the things you mentioned that I don’t. Thanks for the great content. Subbed and saved.

Actually a simple timex will tell time better than a lot of more expensive automatic watches since quartz movements are more accurate than a lot of automatic ones. Personally I prefer the look, feel, and sound of automatic watches though.
