Thank you for your description of Saxifraga however it would have been super helpful if you could explain how to propagate this and other plants from seed. for example, Lady's Mantle. In Qld Australia it is almost impossible to buy these plants; therefore many unusual plants must be grown from seed.
Thanks, this was really informative. By chance, I've just planted some London Pride that I was given. I've put it in a sunny border but under a Jasmine bush as ground cover, so hope it gets enough light. How did you get the carpet effect? I've only put 6 small plugs in about 10 inches apart and hope it will spread together but wonder if it will need future propagation to get good coverage on the ground? Look forward to the next episodes.
I’m sure it will do well, it’s a tough little plant and it’s done well in all the areas in which I have planted it. You will soon get good coverage with the six plants you’ve got. Once it gets going, just keep splitting it to make more plants and space out the clumps until you get the coverage that you’re after. You could propagate but you probably don’t need to bother as it will soon multiply by itself. Good luck
@@MurphysGarden Thank you very much, that's really useful. I've watered them in well in this heatwave so let's see how tough they are! Looking forward to future videos of your beautiful garden
I have them in my garden. But the leaves are starting to brown and fall off. Is it due to autumn ? The plant is also not looking good as before while it was flowering. I have an image, but couldn't add here.
Hi Saranya They sometimes go a bit brown in places and certainly aren’t as lush green as in spring but the leaves shouldn’t die back completely but rather should provide a green cover all year.m round. Is it a young plant? If so, it may have got a bit too dry and died in places. You could pull off a few florets and pot on and replant in the spring. If it’s an old plant it may need reinvigorating, in which case divide it in the spring and discard any old brown bits. Hope this helps, send a picture on instagram if you want Jenny
I think we just call it saxifrage in Australia, mostly found in old gardens.
Very informative, thank you.
Can I split this plant while it’s in flower right now?
You could do so long as you keep it really well watered but easier to do it in the autumn.
Thank you, I’ll chance it then 😊

Thank you for your feedback, I will do this in future video.

It will spread and also cuttings can be transplanted.
