My best friend died in a car accident recently, and he loved the Legend of Zelda so much. His profile picture always had the royal family crest as his profile picture on everything. He loved to play all of the different games, and one of his favorite characters to play in smash was link. I even still have the 3ds cartridge of Ocarina of Time he traded me years ago. I wish I hadn't grown so distant with him over the years. I had so many friends come and go, but he was always there for me. I'm glad I reconnected with him a few months ago though before it happened, it was nice to see him doing well. I miss you so much man, I hope you're rolling around Hyrule Field in heaven.
Sounds like an awesome friend. I'm certain he's rolling around the flowers and breaking a few pots here and there somewhere. I'll make sure to remember him next time I play a zelda game. May he rest in peace.
My older brother and I used to play Zelda, when I heard this song it brought a tear to my eye knowing I will never be able to spend time with him again

During the time I’ve felt lost, lacked confidence, and didn’t really know what to do. 7 years later I’m a college graduate, working and currently with the woman of my dreams. Even though things have changed a lot since then. Time is different for everyone, and that’s the beauty of it! ❤
I remember playing ocarina of time with my aunt during winter break and we both fell in love with this song and sometimes she would hum it before tucking me in bed and I would feel so at peace
When I played it my brother questioned my sanity spending all night in the lake, he tried to fight the endless horde of zombies and said 'damn!! whatever'
I used to play this game so much with my dad 6 years ago, sadly he became an alcoholic and abusive so he left. It brings me to tears while hearing this song knowing ill never see him again.

Me and my Nana (my maternal grandmother) used to play this all the time. She loved this game so much, and so do i. I played it mostly on my Nintendo 2DS, but she had an N64 that I'd play it on sometimes. She taught me everything I know about this game. She was an amazing person, and I really miss her. Sadly, she died around 3-4 years ago at the age of 63. She had smoking problems, heart problems, and covid. I hate covid for being the main reason i lost her. She ate lot of unhealthy foods, smoked, and even drank A LOT of pop even though her doctor advised her not to. And as a very heartbreaking cherry on top, she got covid. She was in the hospital and her lungs stopped. She then had to be put on a breathing machine. She sadly died in her sleep at her sister's house.......i miss her more than anything/anyone I've ever known in my LIFE. This song reminds me of her, and almost made me tear up multiple times. Sometimes I can smell her perfume in the air. That's a sign that a deceased loved one is visiting you. She was my rock......i miss her.
The first time I played this was the 3DS version. Still mad that in the Philippines when this came out everyone was crazy about the PlayStation and I never heard a peep about Nintendo's exploits at the time. Even the GameCube wasn't crazy here (I think...).
I’m bummed out too. It was actually quite unusual of my parents to buy me a ps2 when I was like 2, considering they subsequently raised me to be a Nintendo kid.

Made me cry a little. Miss these games and my childhood. Even if it wasn't always the best, I still had fun while it lasted.
My very first Zelda game. I was about 10 years old and I can still remember how blown away by this game I was. I literally tear up when I remember this game because it’s literally my childhood that I’m remembering. To this day I can still remember most of the ocarina song buttons. My favorite ones have to be Zelda’s Lullaby and the Song of Storms.
I made a very in depth Link cosplay, and I hid a Bluetooth speaker inside a leather pouch on my waist, just so I could pull out an ocarina as I clicked play on this video. nothing makes me happier than walking about as link, playing this at conventions.
Maybe this is coincidence, maybe it's real magic...but years ago I learned this powerful song on the ocarina. Whenever I play it, real magic happens! I recently found myself looking into The Legend of Zelda recently. I remember being anywhere from the age of 3 to the age of 5 watching my dad play this game off of the Wii U Virtual Console. It's probably one of like, a million copies I probably have somewhere of that game too, but it was the one that I always saw when I was a kid. Hearing this for the first time in probably nearly 10 years instantly just led to me full-on bawling. Not just a tear of two, straight up ugly crying. I'd love to actually try this game for once, but I don't think I can mentally bring myself to actually do that any time soon. It's amazing how such a small tune can bring up so many emotions. Potentially really upsetting ones.
