Thanks Ted, I have made several dozen of these for myself and friends as well as referring your straightforward video to multiple others. The results have always been beyond expectations. I usually use larger tubs but same design. I plant 3 tubs with 2 tomatoes each up against a frame I made and up with an 8x10 foot wall of tomatoes every year
Great tutorial! I just made my own thanks to your video. The only difference is I'm using a plastic egg crate under the soil matrix, since the lid seemed flimsy by itself.
I noticed you didn’t use landscaping cloth as a layer to keep dirt out. So the dirt won’t fall in the holes and clog the drainage holes? Thanks for your very instructive video. I’m kicking myself that I bought some containers but left the lids at the store. I doubt I can go back and get them. : (
Thanks for this video. I just heard about an earthbox. 1. It is does not seem very earth friendly with all the plastic, so i guess ill look for reusable parts that will last a long time.. And 2. What keeps the water in the bottom reservoir from growing bacteria? I've read this produces very large fruits
I’m sure you can be creative and use whatever resources are available to you. Points to consider: longevity of your materials (UV resistant last longer but it’s up to you how important that is or isn’t), materials that leak chemicals (styrofoam, non food grade plastic, etc), re-using vs buying, budget, space, and many other that ppl will add. The most important thing is to learn from your experiences and change as you see fit.
This is the best description in my hours of research. Thanks so much.🎉

This is the best video on how to make one of these I’ve seen. Thank you
Agreed!
Love it. Straight to the point without a lot of useless babble. Gonna make a couple of these this weekend for my cucumbers.
Thank you. This is great. You helped me out a whole lot.
short, concise. well done thank you!
Thank you. I have been watching a lot of videos about this process and yours is the best. Anyway the best for me.
ÊXCELLENT instructions and explanation

Glad that it was of use! It's soon that time of year to get them started for a new growing season.
Wow-very nice idea! Thanks for sharing.
Well Done!
Helpful! I'm still deciding whether it's worth it to DIY or just buy them. But now I know how. Thanks.
Awesome instructions! Thank you
I wish I had viewed this a month ago before I tried my own.
This was great, thank you!
Thank you so much!

Thanks 👍
I’m amazed your bins cost a few dollars and in the U.K. it’s £32!

How much does it cost for all the things you need and how long does it take to get all your material?
Are those plastics including the tote food safe?
Can you use a sterilite box instead of a rubbermaid box?
I just saw somewhere that the Rubbermaid boxes are best because they’re UV resistant.
