    I've grown comfortable being single for 4 years. But even on Beltane, I know that instead of crying, I know that I have strong faith of the god and goddess will give me someone new. No matter if it's Valentine's Day or Beltane, when it comes right down to it, we're never alone. The most important lesson that we need to remind ourselves is, learn how to love yourself in order to love others. To my Pagan brothers and sisters have a blessed Beltane. 🌞🌙🌈🌳🌲💐🌹🌼🌻🌺🌷🌸🐝🐦💛💜💓🔥

    If you what to protect your home, but want to avoid salt damaging the earth or your interior, use eggshells. They are great substitute for salt circles.
    I rent my apartment, so I was looking for other protection substances other than salt and someone said eggshells. The eggshell powder has been working great for me so far.

      Is it because the spirits/fae/whatever will step on the eggshells, thus alerting you to their presence?

    Since i am still in school, i decided to wear a yellow shirt and make a flower crown of yellow, green, pink, and purple. (They're fake flowers, but i put time and intention into making it, so it counts 😂) When i get home, my time will be spend cleaning my room bc ive been procrastinating it, and today is the day to get it done

So I was able to go on a walk with my husband and took pictures of all the blooming trees and I also have flower patterns in all my clothes. Loving my thrifted flower power pants. There so colorful and fun to wear. Tomorrow I paint something for Baltane. Thanks for all you do darling. Blessed be

    I always create a batch of Beltane incense with all plant material I've collected myself, then a lovely wood wick yellow candle with colorful ribbons tied around the jar to burn on Beltane. I use the incense as an offering to Goddess and thank her for all my abundances, as well as ask for Her blessings on my gardens. The candle and incense are imbued with love magick in celebration. Blessed Beltane everyone!!!

    This is my first Beltane. I can barely do anything in my home because my parents are super religious and it can be difficult for me to celebrate and pray openly. From seeing everyone's commenrs from 3 years ago, it's helping me figure out how to subtlety celebrate. I can't use real flowers for anything, but I know intentions are everything and I can easily get fake flowers to make my celebration worthwhile for myself. I tried gardening, but my patio does not get direct sunlight so all my plants died. I plan to bury my dead plants as an apology to the gods and sprites and ask for forgiveness for my poor planning 😭 I can't wait to wear flowers in my hair, protecting myself and my husband, and doing small things like making lavender honey bread, fruit tarts, and just having fun in my kitchen. I'm a new hedge witch so I am still learning. I want to thank you and everyone in these comments for the help and ideas as to what I can do in my small place and in the broom closet.

      You can definitely cook with intention without anyone knowing. A spoon can be a wand, and stirring as you say your prayers in your mind or under your breath. Every time you make coffee or tea or even lemonade or pour your water you can do witchcraft. You can set fresh flowers on a table and Noone will know that the water and flowers are offerings. When making any dish look up the magical associations for your ingredients. Spaghetti and meatballs can be a spell you and your family can eat, after all food is love. I sometimes write sigils or spells with icing in the middle layer of a cake. Or even scoring a sigil or "design " under bread, cupcakes, and cakes. You can get really creative and no one will ever know. Instead of lighting candles, you can take a ritual bath or shower, sew runes and spells to the inside of your clothes for protection. Make art with hidden sigils in the paint. You can do glamour magic by enchanting your makeup and perfume and also protect yourself or recite or chant mantras and affirmations in the mirror. Put on a bandana or head scarf and you can be veiling to protect your energy and recharge. You can even use Christian iconography in place of a God or goddess. I use the Virgin Mary and I have a cross in my room that doesn't represent Christianity at all. If you are catholic you have a bumch of saints to choose from that can represent any deity. Set a dish for coins and you have an offering bowl for ancestors or fairies. When sweeping I'm doing witchcraft and when mopping I add salt when no one is looking and add essential oils for "scent" my mother thinks I'm doing chores but I'm actually cleansing and ridding the home of negativity. Spirituality doesn't need to be visible, you live it in your everyday mundane life.
      I also wanted to add that the Bible is full of passages you can use to be in the broom closet. I recommend the Psalms and a great source. You can also practice Bibliomancy, divination by flipping through the Bible or any book and choosing a passage, you may use dice to pick the chapter and verse and then interpret it in your own way according to your question. You family will think you are being a good Christian but little do they know...

    Hearth, as always, an excellent dive into a pagan holiday! As for music, it brings to mind the band Eluveitie. They're a metal band (Celtic melodic death metal), but also have some very traditional songs and albums. Most of their work focuses on ancestors, war, dancing, and beer lol I love (most of) their work, and mourn the band's breakup within the past few years!

    The tree decorating reminds me of fever trees, which aren't particularly tied to Beltane. When someone you know would have a fever, you would take a strip of fabric from their clothing and go to a special tree, and then tie the fabric to the tree, as a type of spell to transfer the fever from the person to the tree, which wouldn't be harmed by it.

    Tree dressing is actually becoming a problem. Prior to its vandalisation, the Glastonbury Thorn was suffering badly from the quantity of clouties tied to it. It's a great tradition, but please be aware of the fact that the tree needs to grow and receive sunlight. The vandalisation was in part a reaction to this.

    Thank you for the video Hearth!! Baby witch here, being from Australia I've become confused about the Sabbat dates. I recently read Harmony Nice's book, its cleared up some information for me. However, a lot of other references I've utilized have said otherwise. If anyone in the comments could help clarify the Sabbat dates in the southern hemisphere it would be greatly appreciated!! Again I'm very new to this! Thank you

      Rachel Hockley You are opposite of the Northern Hemisphere.
      For example, when it's Yule (N.H.) for me that's around my winter solstice, so about Dec 20th or 21st. In turn, that would be your Litha (S.H). When it's my Litha, it's June about June 20th or 21st depending on the Summer Solstice; this would be is your Yule.
      (Edit; I added the Wheel in here as best as I could)
      Dates N.H. S.H.
      Oct 31 🎃 = 🔥
      Dec 20/21 🎄 = 🌞
      Feb 1 💕 = 🍞
      April 20/21 🐥 = 🍁
      May 1 🔥 = 🎃
      June 21 🌞 = 🎄
      Aug 1 🍞 = 💕
      Sept 21 🍁 = 🐥
      Key/Legend
      🎃 Samhain
      🎄 Yule
      💕 Imbolc
      🐥 Ostara
      🔥 Beltane
      🌞 Litha/Midsummer
      🍞 Lammas/Lughnadah
      🍁 Mabon
      N.H. = Northern Hemisphere
      S.H. = Southern Hemisphere
      The "Llewellyn's Sabbat Essentials" have this visual in their books for both Wheel of the Years for each hemisphere. A lot of the Wheel of the Years are centered around the Northern Hemisphere, but, again, you are just opposite of us. 😊 Please let me know if that helps you out! 😆

    After leaving an offering on Beltane, the fae plucked a terribly precious earring right out of my ear! How can I politely ask them to return it?

    is it appropriate to do the tree dressing at a tree that sits in a graveyard? there is an old oak tree at the abandoned graveyard across the street from me and im quite connected to it, i often go over to that tree and sit and talk with it... that tree feels right but im unsure if its appropriate seeing as its in a graveyard..
