Developing immunity to poisons reminds me of the ancient king Mithridates of Pontus, who ruled an area that is now part of Turkey -he is supposed to have gradually taken small doses of every known poison which I presume included snake venom and became resistant to them. However when he took on Rome and lost he tried to commit suicide by taking poison but nothing could kill him so he had to use his sword.

@@belalabusultan5911 sure sure cuz fheyd efinitely rule every animal definitely. Lions are only seen as King because of their image. They show courage, charism and superiority through their look and their manes, especially how their kingdom works as the lioness usually hunt while they go for the bigger ones. They as well are the ones to eat first before the rest. Once again, it is all image. Ever since men made folklore, including culture and mythology. Lions has been important figure and symbol to humanity. But really, if you look at the animal kingdom. Lions aren't really the ones who rules as they got competitions. But yes, Tigers aren't really "king" of the jungle since they are more of social animals that hunts alone. But to me, they are. Because not only are they feared by the others. They too can hunt in a group but it is a rare sight, they are strong warriors who has enough strength to take someone double their size on their own. And the one i like the most which could be unpredictable. They would hunt for the female and cubs (if they are around his territory) and would feed them occasionally. Im 50, my great uncle is 87. He's had pet rattle snakes in his house since before i was born. He's been bit ALOT over the years and has immunity to the bites. His forearms look bad because of past bites but venom doesn't affect him anymore
I once had a 3ft ball python named bubbles and one morning i found her in her aquarium with her skin being pulled off by a rat, and it wasnt an escape feeder rat, it was a normal pest where i live, theres many around our house, and ive already lost a tarantula named peanutbutter to a rat that also got in her enclosure
Get cats. If you do your only rodent problem will be said cats dragging said rodents into your house to "play" with them before killing them. I have 5 cats on 11 country acres. My only rodent problem is the cats dragging them into my house, via a cat flap, and killing them inside, instead of outside the house. Much better than being overrun with live rodents in my house.
This is not evolution that you’re explaining, because you’re talking about a species that came from the same species. You’re talking about adaptation, which is completely different scientifically speaking. Evolution would be evidence of a snake turning into a snake or a different species, this is not at all what you were explaining. But thank you for the great video it was very good and interesting.
In case anyone is wondering if woodrats are predators of rattlesnakes, the answer is NO. The immunity is for protection, because woodrats are among the favored prey of rattlesnakes. There is a mouse that's immune to scorpion venom, though, that actually actively hunts them down.
Snake bites of venomous snakes are not always toxic, dry bites are extremely common as most snakes want to save their venom for prey so will ussuly dry bite predators unless they feel like they have no other options, some species of snakes also frequently fake bite where they lunge and hit potential predator with their closed mouth
Personally I think gene editing is pretty cool. It could be wicked, in fact! Waking up the genes we already have tucked away is such an interesting point of experimentation
Enjoy the video friends!
