This is a great video, I would love to see more people doing things like this to give products a 2nd life. We live in a wasteful disposable society and I believe we have an obligation to reuse a product if at all possible.
I'm a Huge fan of your work, I love the way you present your restoration and it means a lot to us when we are in need of such DIY restorations. My only request is to see you restoring a Table Fan and making it run with 12v Bosch powertool Battery and an 895 DC motor, so that it could serve as an emergency fan in times of power outages who's is very important for fathers of small babies like me
I'm always amazed by your motor rewinding projects... That's not easy..... I was thinking near the end, "A better blade would help A LOT..." You got there in the end... Nice job....
Without doubt, the most creative & thoughtfully done video, viewed on Y/T today! Very skillfully & intelligently done, a tribute to ingenuity, and a lot of fun for this old TechnoNerd to watch! Thanks! 😁👍❗️
@@gear_show I like modifying things especially tools, yet the limited needed items become the problems; not all the necessary items are sold in my country.. 😓
Great job. An increase in motor size and a higher amp battery could really help turn up the RPM, but with a good blade it'll get the job done, just not as quickly. Very informative and I'm excited to see you using this tool in your future builds.
I've been watching it well every time.I would appreciate it if there was a video about the reason, principle, and method of solidifying the existing copper wire. Also, please make Korean subtitles possible.^^
Solidifying the wire keeps it from creating a short circuit. If it is allowed to move, vibrations will slowly wear away the coating. This is a common cause of failure in electric windings.
So nice to see you have a 3D printer must help a lot with projects when it pertains to restoring and reconfiguring stuff like this must be very useful!
For a trained guy, 10 minutes to an hour, if you're a total beginner it's going to take you hours and many ruined motors, practice a lot, there are no shortcuts to success :-)
Great video my friend I think u can make any thing battery power would u think u could make a air impact battery power or a electric push mower that would be cool keep up the good work
Hi! Another fascinating material. I like your content a lot. I wonder how do you know what gauge of the wire to use, how many turns etc. to change a motor from 110VAC to 18VDC. Is there any math formula for that? Could you please share some knowledge or give me a hint what should I look for in Google? Thanks
Hello domelodi, I just understand a little a bit about magnetic field. I followed the 24V armature structure. You can buy few DC armatures, disassembly them than you will learn something.
@@thestrangerthattalks9516 No, unfortunately this protection is implemented in the tool itself. if you connect a light bulb to a battery, it will discharge it to 0.
@@mraksnajper8683 I meant inside the battery pack itself, see how he makes his own lithium ion battery packs. There is always a BMS inside everytime he makes one
I notice you changed the field over to PM, rather than rewinding the existing stator. Was that for better speed control? Better efficiency? Or just so you'd have less rewinding to do?
Trust yourself, protect your eye, start it without cutting any wood, after you feel a bit confident try it with the wood. After a few times cutting, you will be confident.
I have a cordless 18v hedge trimmer. My friend took the battery apart and says it's too corroded, but the battery is discontinued. Is there a fix for this, Inn this channel or any other. I won't throw it away, I just need a battery. Thanks! That's in part why I love these videos, because things can be repaired if we only try.
Have a look at videos on UA-cam on how to convert your battery to 18650 battery,it's easy if you watch the videos and try for yourself,I done one for my 18v drill and works great, good luck.
U must buy those batteries in bulk I've noticed in a lot of these there unbranded lithium-ion or nimh type does that make them cheaper because there a no name brand?
if you would align the magnets better then you could achieve higher speed and better torque, I think you always just stick the magnets in, try it on a motor and turn the magnet cage while the rotor is turning
Beauty restoration and change to cordless but why put a garbage blade on it? A good diablo blade is super affordable, its the only blade i run on my circular saw, they last so long and have a nice thin kerf

At 15:14, the blade is installed backwards. At 15:16, it is magically swapped around! The magic of editing! Wonder how many other people noticed this.
Haha you are right :D
What you make with these old tools is awesome! Congrats!
Seeing your sweat drips from your chin as you rewind the rotor makes me appreciate your hard work. Keep it up and keep it coming.

More RPM needed in this case, still love your show, great job!

I'm not yet satisfy this result, I should choose 0.8 mm coil for this rewinding. I will increase the RPM. Anyway, thank you for the tips.

How about instead of rewinding the armature change it with a 18 or 20v dc motor?
Could it work also?
Yes, you can use DC motor instead.
You did a very good job. May I know how to define 5 turns matching to 18V?
