They really have a lot going for them. They look good, are reliable, front and rear solid axles, triple locked, rear camp windows, they just need an LS 😂

The problem you're going to run into if you do some wheeling and bust that rear axle, now you'll have to remove the rim/wheels to remove that axle. Just some to to mention and think about. I run SSW rims but no spacers but the right offset to sit flush and not worried about running center caps.
What offset do you use and what tire size do you have?

I run 1.5” spacers and I run 17x9 rims with a -12 offset they fit good
Those big spacers are going to cause a lot of issues with wheel bearings. Sucks to wreck the finish but should machine the inside of the wheel bore to get rid of that lip.
Yeah very true...seems like any negative offset people will say does this...I'm not always sure its as detrimental as people make it out to be but we will see. Makes for good experiments. I know someone who took that approach. Its not out of the cards. I love the tire poke I have right now though so thats tough...

Myself I would love to put the TRD pro (4runner 40th anniversary) wheels on an HDJ80 with manual locking hubs. No idea if they will fit.
100 Series went to a 5-stud hub. I don't agree with the downgrade. That said, 37s look perfect on the 80 Series.My 80 barely fits in my garage on 35s, so it's probably not in the cards for me until I have an 8' garage door.
You should grab a GX460 and start modding that :)

They are not rims... they are wheels.
Wheels, wheels, wheels……rims are for basket ball and bicycles.
Many people who don’t know the jargon may confuse wheel with a wheel and tire setup so to disambiguate that I use rim. No one this way is confused with what I am referring to. I try to use correct jargon but here I would rather communicate clearly because I have this happen enough…
@@OverlandEngineer the proper word is wheel. No car/truck enthusiast watching your channel is going to be confused by that word. Lol
@@kleinbiker1 I know many people understand but no one is confused when I say rim, just maybe mad lol. Not sure why rim bothers you so much…some product descriptions use it🤷🏻♂️
@@OverlandEngineer I just like to see proper information and terminology put out there. And I wouldn’t buy wheels from a manufacturer that calls them rims simply based on principle. I’m slowly starting to looks for wheels though as the tire sizes in 16” are becoming more and more limited. I’ll be going from 35” to 37” once my current tires wear out on my 80 series.
@@kleinbiker1 Fair enough. will a 16" rim limit you on big brake kit upgrades though? I've been debating that after adding weight with 37s.
