I've been to Britex, actually, we went there for a field trip when I was in design school way back in 2006. Yes, it can be pricey because they are authorized sellers of high-end and copyright fabrics. We did not go into the deeper areas of SF, and now I will go back as my daughter has recently moved there! So yeah! Shop...rest...shop.. rest!
Britex is very very expensive! I live in the Bay Area outside of San Francisco. Near San Francisco, go to Berkeley, "Stonemountain Daughter" a smaller shop, but great prices and very unusual stuff, also Oakland has some discount fabric shops!
Do you have any specific recommendations in Oakland? I want to check out A verb for keeping warm so if they have decent fabric shops too I might visit them too.
Okay! Thats it. I'm doin it! I was going to make the flight to Mood fabrics in NY then i found out that they have one in Los angels 8 hours away.....but if the have such fab fabrics right here in ny own back yard and its less than 90 minutes away!? ROOOOAAAAD TRIIIIIPP!
This is so informative! I love to so but my local fabric store is not so great. I go to San Francisco all the time so of course next trip I’m going to be checking out some of the stores you went to. Thank you so much
Amazing!! Absolutely loved the video. You must stop by Fabrix on Clement next time you're here! Another incredible warehouse-type space with some seriously discounted designer fabrics.
Thank your for this!! I am new to sewing and from a relatively small town. I am so bored with big box stores and their limited fabrics. I am only 90 minutes from SF, so as soon as it is safe to travel I am going on a road trip. A weekend at my favorite hotel in Union Square and some fabric shopping. Woohoo!!
I drove ur here in singapore... hehe.. Remember the driver with his wife as a seamstress?? Maybe u can advice her at lilbuttons under the name riyana baboo.. Btw asian have lots and loads of fabric... very unique...
OMG! I am going to San Fran later this year and as fabric selection suck where I live I will so check these ones out. I didn't know the fabric selection was this good - I had only heard they have some good yarn stores. I have followed A verb for keeping warm in Oakland for years so I am excited to give that store a visit too.
Your haul is gorgeousss!!😍😍😍 That black vinyl and you wanting to make a bikini reminded me of Project Runway season 1 and Jay McCarroll’s (bondage) swimsuit 😁🖤🖤 You literally have the BEST personality, I love watching your hauls!!!😁😃❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼
I live in SF and fabric outlet is so dangerous. It's a lot of end of season, last of, going out of production. So every time I see something I love in my head I'm like oh no, I have to buy it cause it might be gone forever soon.
I (an American) think its funny that you captioned ‘American breakfasts are amazing’ when no people really eat that :) I mean I guess some do but most probably don’t :)
You might be right. There must be ‘some’ people who eat there though.. the restaurant was full while we were there and I went twice. I also don’t think they would have it on the menu for long if it wasn’t something the customers wanted. They must be getting their business from someone. Probably tourists like me. 😊

Sam Fran is really good for fabric stores. Just make sure you have a good pair of walking shoe/ trainers. Those hills are no joke!
The Crafterpreneur good point! I almost forgot what a beast those hills were when I went there last.
Lol, I took a large suitcase to Kuta in Bali and did the same thing!! Alta Moda is 3 levels of fabulous fabrics!
You have the best fabric hauls😁

Funny, I buy Europe’s knits, so much better than anything in the US
