Love your videos. You did your research well on fabric shopping in Kuala Lumpur. I am a dressmaker from KL. You can get fabrics from all over the world at the same street . They are really cheap and beautiful. I think you have missed out Kamdar, another interesting fabric store.there. Fabric shopping always make me happy.🥰
I worked for Apple for many years and did some international traveling. Every trip I looked for the fabric centers and went there on my own time. The concierge from the hotel would help me find them and explain to the taxi driver where to take me. What a fun adventure! I also knew fabric stores were going crafty and I better build my stash for the day good interesting fabric would be almost unobtainable. I went to Kuala Lumpur in 2007. I visited the fabric center there and bought some exquisite fabrics to put in my spare suitcase. I feel so happy & fortunate I got to make those trips and buy some treasures. Now retired and every day is filled with sewing and knitting!!! Also, I picked up some beautiful pieces of pewter which I also gifted to some friends, Malaysia is known for that particular metal crafting - YAY love it! Really enjoyed your vlog 2day😘 Carrie from Northern San Francisco Bay Area 🥰🙉❤🐕🐑🌹☕🧵🪡🧶✂
I love hearing your plans for all the fabric you pick up. Beautiful finds and it seems that every color of the rainbow looks amazing on you. Thanks for sharing!
WoW! Do you remember how much cotton fabric was? batiks? I'm a quilter - used to sew clothing, but now it's cotton and this place looks like "heaven" for sewists!!!
Oh my goodness. I would lose my mind for real in Malaysia. I would have to go with empty suitcases for sure. The pink fabric with the border design woul problem be real pretty in the rose housecoat (Gertie's pattern) I would love to see you make that.
Thank you for the haul video! I love seeing all the fabric shops around the world that people go to. LIke you i see such great fabric but have no place fancy to go in it. I have given up on changing my life, and am now willing to use the fancy fabric for house dresses and nightgowns. Crazy yes but fun.
What a fabulous fabric haul 😊 I love the green tweed fabric, it’s stunning! Also love the sequin\sparkly fabrics, they are just so pretty! Ant wait to see what you make with the others, especially if there are some shirt dresses on the list! And that black fluffy fabric 😍😍😍 just gorgeous ❤
I haven't been to KL since I started sewing, so I haven't been fabric shopping there, but it looks amazing. Next time you're in Malaysia, consider going to Penang. I love Georgetown, a vibrant place with gorgeous old buildings and great food (of course). The fabric shopping options were obviously not as extensive as in KL, but that was good for me as I had very limited suitcase space (I'd already been to Spotlight while in Australia), but I bought a few linen/tencel blends for a lot less than they would cost in the UK, if you could find them.
Gutted I went to KL before I was a sewist! Is the mall by Central Park? I also remember the roads with just fabric stores. Hope you had a wonderful time. We also flew up to Langkawi which I’d recommend. Where did you stay? Looks like the Mandarin Oriental.
I just subscribe to you on yesterday. It will be a great idea if you can plan a fabric shopping in Malaysia. I am an America and I am all in for travel to collect fabric. Great video
Great to see you again, beautiful fabrics. Like you, I love gorgeous evening wear but have no where to wear it. My lifestyle calls for casual separates!
Thanks for sharing your trip and the fabric you purchased!!!❤❤ I'm in love with the fancy fabrics you got and am totally now wanting a fancy robe, as well!!!😁😃
You don't need an event to wear any kinda clothing you want. Be the main character in your reality. If it makes you feel good putting on a fancy dress just to do errands do it.
I love your videos; even if they are long. I can't wait to watch you make stuff out of those fabric. My daughter-in-law lives in Singapore and visits Malaysia for vacations.
Actually, I dislike Spotlight. Maybe I'm unlucky with local store in Sydney but I'm always uninspired because it's messy and not great quality. I think the individual stores really differ. I know Janelle picks up some beautiful fabric , I don't think she's in Sydney. There are better stores in Sydney that make fabric buying a great experience. I really enjoyed this vlog.
Hi, I love the glittery tweed fabric ❤❤❤❤.. Can share which store did you went at the jakel mall? I saw sort of cream colored tweed fabric when you did a brief video while at jakel mall store..
I really appreciate this video. I would absolutely love to go there! Your fabric choices were beautiful. Can I shop the stores online? If so, how can I pay for the fabric with American money?
Hi Ayisha. We are planning a stopover in Singapore and we are also visiting Milan, could you recommend fabric shops/areas to visit to purchase fabric please. cheers Marja
Do you know, you can wear all the fabrics that you bought to go to work here. Our national dress, baju kurung is considered a formal outfit. Can be made with any type of fabric. Don't need to go to events to wear something extravagant.
I guess I’m going slow this morning, lol. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for helping me to indulge my fabric/sewing passion now that I’m not able use my machines. 😃

Any idea where i can get plain muslin for draping in KL? 🥺
Nell where is your atelier? I am on my way to KL
The black beaded fabric would look fantastic with a caramel coloured lining ❤

Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous. I love all of the fabrics. I love that you’re sharing your shopping experience on the channel. Thank you so much.
Oh my word - the pleated crepes. Utterly gorgeous.
I love hearing your plans for all the fabric you pick up. Beautiful finds and it seems that every color of the rainbow looks amazing on you. Thanks for sharing!
I was in Malaysia last summer and went nuts in the fabric district. This brought back some memories.
WoW! Do you remember how much cotton fabric was? batiks? I'm a quilter - used to sew clothing, but now it's cotton and this place looks like "heaven" for sewists!!!
Haven't finished watching the video yet, just pause to comment to say "lovely nails! 😁"

Ooh that green beaded fabric has most definitely gotta be a NYE dress!
27:42 That's a beautiful dress from Mango that I absolutely love. If you were ever going to make that, I'd love a pattern😅
Isn't KL amazing???? My husband LIVES there!!!! I'm heading out again in May, cannot wait. I love the place!

Hello from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 🎉🎉
Jalan TAR is our favourite place to shopping for eid fitri. ❤
Beautiful fabric ❤
I’m so jealous!
Aw - you should start coming to our Tuesday night sewing bee - between Knutsford and Mobberley so possibly close to you!
UMMM YES PLEASE! Tell me more!!
I really appreciate this video. I would absolutely love to go there! Your fabric choices were beautiful. Can I shop the stores online? If so, how can I pay for the fabric with American money?

Btw what lipgloss are you wearing in this, it’s really pretty
I love the backdrop and how you store all your fabric. Where do you source the bare bolts?
Incredible haul❤
Your fabrics are beautiful
Awesome haul! Loved everything!!❤️❤️❤️
I would really like to make some dressing gowns too. Can you share your pattern please?
Omggg you were in my country
You are a great sewer. Have yoh been to Milan and can you recommend good fabric shops, as I am here now and last day? Many thanks Artisan xxx
I have been to Milan but it was a long while ago. There are definitely lots of fabric shops there though! Enjoy!
Awesome. KL is wonderful. Have you been to India. Bonkers! 🔥❤️
Great vid. Where do you purchase your empty fabic bolts to store your fabric behind you?
I made the bolts out of A3 foam boards. You can get a pack of 10 and I cut them in half to fit the space.
The reason why we have loadsss of fabric stores is because we still have traditional clothes that we would get tailor made every year.
Man I wish I could travellike you and buy fabric😂.
Do you know, you can wear all the fabrics that you bought to go to work here. Our national dress, baju kurung is considered a formal outfit. Can be made with any type of fabric. Don't need to go to events to wear something extravagant.
Would have liked to know the prices of the fabrics
Where can i get linen
How does the VAT work out for the fabrics?
you look very pretty ... pls share the hotel address where you were staying
LOL Simplicity is the best known name in sewing machines since maybe late 1880s.
Enjoyed the video but needed the transcript because of the speeded up audio.
I didn’t speed up any audio at all. I just talk fast.
I guess I’m going slow this morning, lol. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for helping me to indulge my fabric/sewing passion now that I’m not able use my machines. 😃
I didn’t know spotlight was overseas, I thought it was only in Australia. I go there nearly every week as I’m a self confessed fabric whore 😂
xXX👍👍👍
