I've tried both. Was trying to decide which to stick with. I didn't even realize Harry's has the little top razor, had to go check it out immediately. Total game changer, I'm going to stick with Harry's!
i know this is a old post but Dollar shave club used to have that bit years ago on their 6 blade shaver but Dollar Shave Club was sued by Gillette and kinda went down hill after that
Had a DSC razor that I enjoyed using for a little until not even a few months in the razors kept popping off and I nearly cut myself while shaving. The cheap flimsy end attachment piece was loose and wouldnt even accept new razors anymore. Went to Costco and bought the 14 pack of harry's and WOW what a difference in quality
I wanted a good shaver but also something that can cleanse or treat my skin . And Harry’s has some good face products iv been using for a few weeks . Toners, eye cream, blemish cream, and it’s all really good quality.
I typically use a safety razor these days but I love Harry's and contrary to what they say I have used their razors for head shaving with great success.
Great and informative video. I have been using DSC for years and have the older style handle and really like the Boogie Bold Hair Gel but they don't seem to carry that anymore, not sure why. I took a trip to Atlanta from MPLS and the airport security took my brand new tube of hair gel. I ordered a new tube and let them know why I had ordered again and they very quickly sent me a replacement free of charge! That was super cool of them to do that. Thanks again for a great video comparing the two.
One point that should have been mentioned was that DSC also has a six-blade razor. This design also has a feature that provides for close shaving under your nose. I use the six-blade method, and it does a great job. Besides this point, the video was very well done and informative. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you so much for this informative video! My teenage son just started shaving, and the Gillette razor cartridges are very pricey. I just got the $3 trial package from Harry's and I'm amazed by how well they work and how affordable they are. I was curious about DSC, but will stick with Harry's after this video and reading the comments. I think Harry's fits my son's needs the best.
I've used both. Dollar Shave Club is only good if you do not have thick and coarse hairs. All there is to it. It is very cheap, it leaves the worst 5 o'clock shadow, very similar to a single blade razor. It'll cut you like one too. Harry's are very nice. I think they are much closer to Gillette. Not as good but nice. They also are easy to cut yourself, but not like DSC. I'll never buy DSC again and believe this is why they are the lowest price--they are the cheapest to make. With a Gillette, I rarely cut myself and it provides the cleanest shave. But to save money, I think Harry's is a good choice. I've used Harry's for almost a year now.
I bought both DSC & Harry's to compare to Gillette. I feel Harry's razor, like Gillette has a more smoother shave for me, as an African-American, which I also have sensitive skin. For the razor cartridges itself: Harry's. For accessories (shave cream, shave lotion, etc): DSC.
The one problem I have with DSC is the starter kit comes with just two razors and the handle doen't come with one on it. So I have one razor until my next shipment in April. The one complaint I've seen is the blade keeps falling off. That hasn't happened to me. Today is the third day I've used it and it feels like the blades are getting a little dull. The one gripe I have is the container of the shave butter is too small. Like I said, my next shipment doesn't come until April.
I used DSC until they switched to the Club Series from Dorco supplier. The new DSC doesn’t give you as clean of a shave compared to Harry’s or the old blades. Personally switching to Harry’s or Dorco Pace 6 if I can get them for cheap in Canada.
Been using DSC getting all the promo packs. Major issue is the head is so flimsy they are too quick to break the thin cheap plastic. The handle is great but the heads forget it. Going to try out the Harry's, sounds like the way to go.
No cartridge razor can compete with the feel and the savings that you can get from a good safety razor especially considering the low cost of double edge razor blades. You can get 100 blades for 10 bucks, kinda hard to beat that. Plus, safety razors give a superior shave, although there is a higher upfront cost and more practice to use them correctly.
@@BeastMadeReviews It was and you did a good job in the video and covered a lot of the info from both vendors fairly well. It was a well put together assessment of these companies. One thing I would like to see next is maybe review some DE razors and put them to the test or maybe compare carts to DE and do a challenge to find the best shave that your viewers can judge for themselves.
I heard that with Harrys you can accidentally knock off the blades pretty easily without putting to much force on it without actually touching the part where its suppose to eject the blade. Do you find this to be true or has this been fixed?
In all my years of experience shaving with Harry's, I've never had that happen. I've had an older and newer designs, and they are perfectly stable in my experience. I think if that happened, it must be a defect with that individual razor, and I would recommend contacting their customer service. But I love the Harry's razor, and I can definitely recommend it!
Zero Tech... Yes sometimes the cartridge does pop off, but it still a decent razor. I have both Harry's and DSC. I prefer the DSC because the blades don't pull and the handle is perfect for grip.
I've been using the TWIN BLADE for aong time with DSC. But recently I noticed that they are a bit dull and dojt last as long.. maybe 2-3 shaves until it starts to be dull and almost harder to shave and not as smooth. I was thinking about switching to the 4 blade. If you shave every other day or 3-4 times a week, would it last at least a week? Thanks
I use the DSC twin blade and 4 blade depending on the situation. I agree the twin blades don’t last as long as they used to. I shave about 4-5 times a week (with Cremo shave lotion) and a 4 blade cartridge easily lasts me a couple weeks. However, I don’t have really thick facial hair.
Real Question can you fit Dollar Shave Razor Cartridges on a Harrys Razor and Vice versa? Also only thing I noticed about Dollar Shave vs Harrys is Dollar Shave has a 6 Blade vs Harrys is a 5 Blade.
Double edge safety razors might cost more up front but are cheaper in the long run with 100 blades for as cheap as $10. You also end up with a better shave.
I’ve been using Dollar shave club for about a year now, and it first I found them quite good. The handle is very nice and I get a very good shave using their shave cream. However, changing cartridges is a bitch. It takes anywhere from 5 to 25 tries to get the cartridge out of the little case onto the razor and this morning I just could not get it to happen. I even went online and found there a little video on how to change cartridges but it was no help at all. (I did see a lot of complaints about the newer DSC’s where the cartridges fall off the handle while you’re shaving, and I saw similar comments here.) I don’t know if anything has changed but I just couldn’t get it to work so now I’m looking for something else. Thanks for a good comparison of the two, I think I’ll probably try Harry’s.
Dollar Shave club, had a nice weighted handle and blades, then they changed to a light weight cheaper blade about 4 months ago. Now I need to go find something better. I prefer to keep using the DSC weighted handle, but no longer receive the blades that fit it! By downgrading the quality, they lose a customer.
You know, if DSC had that single blade on the back, it would be the best razor. I shave my head and the biggest complaint about harry's is over head shave, also the DSC shave butter is keno AF, DSC has 4 and 6 blade options and can have some stutter and roughness, but I've been in a pinch and used the same blade for 3 months. but damn do I miss that precision single blade on the back. Do you know how hard it is to get in your ear divot with 4 blades? Good video even if I disagree with some of it.
@@DeadPresidentsEnt. maybe they upgraded since I made this review. You saw the video, right? There was no razor on the backside of DSC when I reviewed them.
Hello, as a Harry's user. I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed. Add in cremo shaving cream avail at Walmart and you got's yourself a close clean, no knick shave.😊
Guess I got lucky first I got Harry's with promo of 99. Cents worked on my hard stubble face well just received dollar shave club also a promo of $1.99 worked just as well haven't decided which I like better but I might just go with Harry's or switch back and forth also received 5 blades with both
Hello, for me Harry's is far superior than any Gillette rasor. Add cremo shaving cream available at Walmart and you got's yourself a close , smooth ,no knick shave. Hope my advice helps you for a better shave.😊
It's the wording they used for who uses their product. Not just for MEN, but something along the lines their product is not just for MEN, rather for all perceived men. This is verbatim of course. And I just received my Hairys order for the first time. Personally, I use Schick Hydro and was looking for an alternative. My first shave with a brand new Harry's razor, it is nowhere as good as Schick for 3 reasons. 1. The handle is not weighted nicely, as I'm sure you'll understand if you've used a standard Schick/Gillette handle. 2. The razor on the first and second shave isn't smooth. I don't have a uber amount of facial hair, yet it was pulling a lot on my face. The one good thing I'll say about Harry's is the shaving gel. It smells really good. It's a classic manly scent. 3. The last gripe I have with Harry's is the blade attachment to the handle locking mechanism. It's very flimsy. I can pull apart the handle/blade without even using the attachment mechanism. It doesn't inspire any confidence whatsoever. I feel like if you're shaving with longer/more dense facial hair, the blade can detach from the handle rather easily. Harry's was worth a shot, but for shaving I think I won't be ordering from them again. The last plus I will give Harry's is their assortment of products. Their customer service has been top notch to their credit. My order was lost for a couple weeks, and when I contacted them, they resolved the issue immediately. In summation, their recent stance in Woke society doesn't bother me, but their base product and what they're known for, their razors, just don't seem what they're all chalked up to be. I will stick to Schick after I'm finished with the Harry's razors, unless you recommend an alternative to try. PS I'm unbiased to any statements a company makes. I will stand by any company I try, given they perform WELL. My only bias, I will admit, is to company's that manufacturer in the USA or Canada. That is where I would like my money to go. I know we in North America are capable of it. Cheers! Hope you read it!
Hello! I have been using DSC for about five years, and I have a little bit of a bone to pick with you about your review of them, and a few things that ought to have been highlighted but were grossly overlooked. I'm actually getting my husband (who I introduced to DSC) to help me make a video of the stuff that was left out... Is there somewhere I could send it?
You make your own video, you create your own channel, you post the video there. I also think he left something out, he did not discuss the quality of the cut. Which is awful with that company. I've had disposable razors that left a cleaner look when finished. Not sure how your video would dispute that experience.
I don't understand why a fan of PAA is using any of these. Lol Get a PAA soap and a Rockwell 6S/6C and you've got a customisable kit that'll serve you for decades.
You're telling me. I was stuck in a hospital care for a month and because the state always uses the cheapest crap, they only had gillette, *BIC* makes better razors, that's not a joke, bic single blade is better than gillette double, it clogs, it dulls, it cuts.
Harry's hands down. I don't have a fancy YT channel. but I've been poor and relied on Christmas presents before. my DSC 4 blade lasted me 3 months before I got a nick, my harrys lasted me 1 month. However, I shave my head too and i think everyone says clearly "Harrys is not for head"
I disagree. It's cheaper to use a horse & buggy than drive a car but which one is faster & more convenient? The cost effectiveness only comes into play if you're not a "collector". Brushes, soaps, multiple safety razors can run into big bucks if you go down that rabbit hole
I was a Harry's customer for years. Absolutely love their products, but, I am a man of principle. Late last year I had the absolute worst customer service experience with Harry's. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves to no avail. That did it for me and I switched to Dollar Shave Club. The shave I get from the DSC razor is superior to the Harry's shave. That said, I believe the shaving experience is superior with the Harry's razor. I prefer the handle of Harry's over DSC's by a long shot. I shave my head and never had a problem with Harry's nor do I with DSC. I do not like DSC's shave butter. I feel it makes the handle too slippery in my hand. They have a cream I'll try next. I believe Harry's has the best body wash in the business. I am waiting for the DSC body wash to arrive so I can try it. I hope I like it as much as Harry's. I feel the price points are comparable. In conclusion, as much as I love Harry's products, I am a man of principle more. I will never go back based on my customer service experience plus now they have gone woke. That's a deal breaker for me. I'll get used to the DSC razor, I think their cream will be fine, and I am hopeful their body wash will be as awesome as Harry's is.
I have a lot of experience with DSC products and I can tell you that the body washed a little bit disappointing, as is the shampoo. I'm with you, I hate the shea butter. I do like their face wash and I really like all of their lotions from the aftershave to the hand cream to the face cream. That you said it's really great ball spray but they haven't had it for years now. I use their deodorant religiously. It has been my main brand for about 3 years now. Their products are decent. But other than the deodorant, there's nothing to write home about
Okay, so, I tried the DSC shave cream and their body wash. The shave cream is exceptional. It blows away Harry's shave cream in a big way. As a matter of fact, using their shave cream instead of the shave butter I mentioned earlier changes the game big time with the DSC handle. I actually am okay with the DCS razor handle now that I am using the cream over the butter. The butter ruins the feel of the handle in your hand as it runs everywhere. The cream stays put and does not affect the grip on the handle whatsoever. The body wash is okay. The clean is excellent and the feeling of your skin afterwards is also excellent. The fragrance isn't anything special. Nevertheless, I will continue to use the DSC body wash unless I happen to stumble upon something I like much better within this price point. Cheers!
I was with DSC more than 10 years I just cancelled. We Don't like the new cheaper dollar shave club razors. they don't last. Their overall razor quality was so much better than before. Harry's quality is much better, and you can get multiple use out of ever one. DSC razor you don't want to use them more than one time. DSC's new razors will take more of your time to shave. I used to them everyone about DSC, but not anymore. If it ain't broke don't fix it unless you're going to make it better.
Harry's razors are crap. They definitely look the part. I have been using them for a couple of years. The razor is outstanding in that you don't get cut and it doesn't hurt. But it ends there. There are three HUGE issues with their razors. First the clickable razor cartridge doesn't stay clicked on and falls off easily. I can't get the cap off pain reliever bottles, but I can't keep Harry's cartridge heads on. I have bought multiple handles and they are all the same. The razor cartridge just don't click tightly and stay on. Second there is a white strip at the top of razor head that falls apart immediately when it touches water. If you shave in the shower, you will get white goo all over your face. Thirdly you cannot make sharp cuts with the razors. Around sideburns and hairlines it is worthless. I just use their razors for the majority of cutting and then a separate Gillette razor for hairline cuts. I am already ordering a Dollar Shave Club razor from Amazon today, because I am just fed up with the quality of Harry's razors.
7/04/24...Harry's 4 pack of blades..29.xx bucks. DSC 4 pack of blades...9.89. Limited edition handle with two 6 blade cartridges..9.29 Walmart prices. Harry's has successfully priced theirselves out of my market.
Which do you think is better?

I'm actually getting my husband (who I introduced to DSC) to help me make a video of the stuff that was left out... Is there somewhere I could send it?
I'm not sure what you're asking.
I like a lot of things. These are popular razors, so having a video about them is good for anyone looking for them.
In the end they are bother better then gillette
You're telling me. I was stuck in a hospital care for a month and because the state always uses the cheapest crap, they only had gillette, *BIC* makes better razors, that's not a joke, bic single blade is better than gillette double, it clogs, it dulls, it cuts.
A rusted cut in half pop can is better. Inmho 😊
I just got both 😂
Awesome video thanks!!
Glad you liked it!
So far I love Harry's
Would pick Harry’s but ima a head shaver I’m not gonna be paying for a razor for my face and one for the head rather just have one that does both
Harrys
Which blades gets dull quicker?
In my experience, I think Dollar Shave does.
Their Executive Razor is so much better than their cheap Walmart product. Get the Executive.
Agreed and now they are discontinuing the executive
Harry’s is fantastic!!!
Чего сказал?
Honestly, just buy a DE Safety razor and some shave soap. Much cheaper, better shave, better for the skin. I could go on.
I disagree. It's cheaper to use a horse & buggy than drive a car but which one is faster & more convenient? The cost effectiveness only comes into play if you're not a "collector". Brushes, soaps, multiple safety razors can run into big bucks if you go down that rabbit hole
Harry's Razors went "woke" so they are automatically off my purchase list.
Dsc blades are made in Korea
Not anymore. Unilever owns DSC now & they use personna blades from Israel
I've been a customer of dollar shave club for years and I especially love their new handles. I just can't shave with anything else but dollar shave.
Harry's
But other than the deodorant, there's nothing to write home about
@@PeacefulPariah Bummer. Thanks for the heads up.
Cheers!
I'll have to try the shave cream. I don't like the butter either
lol Dollar Shave Club is "woke" just as much my broflake.
Harys has a 3 dollar trial kit
I'm sticking with Harry's.
Dollar shave club new razors suck the old one where way better
I choose Gillette Fusion Razors 💯

JEREMEY'S!! ua-cam.com/video/s92UMJNjPIA/v-deo.html
I need to try it!
Isn’t Jeremy’s the Made in China Daily Wire brand?
Do your self a favor and don't waste your hard earned cash on this company
Harry's blades were trash. Plus, they have gone woke. Screw Harry's!
I’ve tried both as well. Harry’s wins every time. Over DSC, Schick, Gillette, all ove them.
Harry’s just provides the best shave, every time 🪒
