    That opening about the Kaua 'i' o o ripped my heart out knowing he sang for a mate to show up that would never come. Bird song is holy and touches me deeply. I love it so much. I can't imagine anyone caging a bird, they need to be free to soar through the skies to spread their songs for everyone to hear.

      True, but unfortunately a lot of birds would not survive without people caring for them.
      The climate and habitat loss have been too extreme: we're headed towards the sixth great extinction, the details of which are grim.
      May humanity heed the warnings.

    Granted, composers have been imitating bird songs in music for centuries, However; this composer is able, with technological help, to even more precisely capture these prized songs and apply them to music. Bravo!!!

    Absolutely brilliant! I love everything about this young composer: his keen inventivness, his imaginative and soaring creativity, his whimsical musicianship. And his ear, savoring and painstakingly transcribing, the vocal gymnastics of our avian friends
    around the globe, and then incorporating it into his music!

    Thank you for this post. In the 70's jazz bassist Dave Holland made a album entitled Conference of the birds..it's not everyone's cup of tea but it is one of my favorites. The one reason I get early is to listen to the conference of the birds.

    This is credibly fascinating! 🌟 So inspiring & beautiful. Yet, hauntingly sad. Birds, their songs, and colorful beauty are true gifts & artibutes to us from Nature. We are losing so much with their drasticly fast declining numbers. Music is such a powerful force & it truly defies definition. I'm so impressed with this & your drive & ability to transcribe their amazing, meaningful sounds. 🌟 Thank your for your important work! 🥰

      you must mean "gifts from God". Nature can't gift anything. It's the same thing that kills during a harsh winter for example

      @@henrimatisse7481 I do consider the gift of transformation, which is a part of Natural Law a true gift. Energy, the essence of all life, to me, is like a vibrating force of everything. The Universe that holds & envelopes our world within it is a very creative source of life & death. Energy never ends & the human species are only a very small part of the whole. Yet, we each have an affect on everything. Thank you for your reply. 🤔

      @@rloomis3 Yes, 'Source', 'God', 'Gaia', etc.....! The nature of our questioning, seeking, searching & trusting without knowing can lead to extrodinary findings or amount to nothing but incertainity. I recognize through science that life, by design, provides gifts, options, 2nd chances, synchronicity & grace. Reviewing by changing our perspectives is a gift to see anything from a different lens & to form a different attitude, understanding or belief system. Seekers are always seeking the Divine. I sure am! But, every day, with every breath, I want to embrace & explore every opportunity I'm gifted to see, discover & learn. All of the Good, bad, divine, evil, right or wrong, is the paradox. To be aware of our capacity to see beyond the obvious, the seperated views of this amazing world & remember we are all, each a part of the whole, that every life has meaning. I look for the essence of meaning, in all things. The connection, the possibilities, opportunities to discover beauty, grace, love, to transcend the meaningless preoccupation of the same. The only certainty is change. Energy must transform. We are all a part of, alive & evolving in that process too! Especially into death, decomposition & regeneration of new life. 🫡

      @rloomis3 Рік тому

      @@patricialyons491 Well... I don't think science implies what you seem to be inferring from it. But perspective is definitely important, and curiosity is a good thing - as long as it leads one to see not just what one _wants_ to see. Good luck in your search - but be open to the idea that not everything you're looking for may actually be there.

    Birds make fantastic and beautiful sounds, beautiful melody lines, but do they compose?, can they make logic, build up the melodies to become a whole song as humans do, to make a meaning; well they say the sounds have a meaning in that they atract a mate or drives away a competitor, but as how much could you say its composed music with logic?; if one could see some smartness a nd cleverness there I mean? I searched around on youtube but could not find anybody talking about that. Anybody has a clue about that here?
