Collecting rainwater here in dry areas of Australia is something we all try to do. Tanks are costly, but it is so much more economical in the end. Many here in the country towns have town water supplied to the house and garden, but use rainwater first and foremost, as it is supplied for free, and comes down clean, at least outside of city areas. Seeing all the rain you get, it's a no-brainer whether to collect and use it. Well done, and good on you for reusing the barrels so well.
Well done guy’s your on a wonderful journey I live in Belfast but bought a little stone cottage for renovation eight years ago in Co Cavan I’ve been chipping away at it every chance I get I’m hoping to live there one day,it’s great to see these cottages wanted and used again before there lost forever, looking forward to seeing you progress 👍
New subscribers from Carmarthen S/West Wales UK .I love what you both are doing .Well done Guys . From a (Solar panelled ,2 huge water butts we use for most things ) cottage built in 1860 .Blessings 💚💚💚
You said it water shortages... Welcome to Ireland we have lots of rain water that fills the water dams no problem at all . No shortages of water here yous are giving yourselves a headache filtering rain water. Go the route of a well if you don't want mains connection, but get it regularly tested buggers dump dangerous substances in the countryside all the time that will soak into the ground. Good luck with the cottage I will keep tuning in for more. 👍
I have been drinking rain water from 17 September 2022. My tap water is 347 PPM, Brita water filter was 246 PPM. So i went over to rain water and that's 3 PPM up to 15 PPM. Then i put it through a Megahome distiller and my water is now 0.00 PPM very clean water now.
Hi, very interesting! We are considering a very similar style of life. Best of luck! PS, get a black IBC as it blocks out light and will help you have alge free water.
As your just beginning this life off grid - and hoping the youtube income will help, I suggest you invest in better video equipment - tripod etc, etc, and that will stop some viewers leaving and your channel will grow.....just saying. Oh and congrats on the water collection.....a good start. I was hooked on a young Canadian couple with baby who went off grid in Panama and bought some islands. At first they rented a house near the islands where he build a houseboat to live on while they cleared the island ready for building.....but be warned ! Jaimie Mantzel is an amazing inventor and builder and I think he is a great entertainer......and video guy too. I recommend you watch him for tips on anything.
Hi there, we are wondering how it goes with the rainwater. We live in Leitrim, and it hasn't rained in ages. We hope you don't have to go too often to get water from the public tab. Good luck, and looking forward to seeing more from you 😊
Hey, during the heatwave, we just made regular trips for water - like we did when we first moved here. We plan to expand the collection system this winter. So hopefully, next summer, we'll be fine with reserves. 😄
Hi & good luck in your new adventure. Like someone else suggested, maybe better Video equipment. Also appreciate the fact you don't want to show your baby, but the constant blocking is very distracting. Also invest in good microphone. X
we plan to upgrade to IBC's once we can source one. The two barrels were offered to us for free. We've added a 2nd now. Agree, we have a compost toilet for that same reason. 🤣
If you have access to a well then use it, gaia will tell you when she is under too much pressure by not filling it up again. And, well, trust me or not, she appreciates more people who use her as she is meant to be used, In respect and with appreciation. Reservoirs and water tables in cities are the ones in trouble because that water isn't being treated right, it's being poisoned and abused and she is done putting up with it, so they need to collapse in order that people learn, and return to the old ways and revere water once more. Else wise, make damn sure those carbon filters are replaced often, they still use chemtrails over here and that graphene and aluminium fills up carbon filters pretty fast, and you don't wanna be drinking that shit. Also, write words of love and appreciation and health, and detoxing, etc etc all over that rain collection barrel. You will taste the difference in doing that within a day. Also, if you can raise that gutter up a bit over your barrel, and replace the bottom 18 inches with cleaned quartz pebbles taken from a running stream from nearby the cavitation of the water vortexing through those pebbles cause rapid compression and exponential acceleration through polarised magnetic fields is good for the water's memory. You can do that and still keep your sieve of course. Or. place that pipe of stones over your caravan container so that it cavitates it in place pousing from one to the other. This would actually be better because the force of you pouring it through as a larger mass is more effective. Trust me here, set up the pipe and have a blind taste tests with each set of waters in multiples of glasses. One will taste much more better, to quote that pirate...

Good luck with your project. The cottage looks better already, with the new guttering and the removal of the ivy.

so glad your awake and distilling your water
I love how you guys think. Majority of Rural New Zealand is on Rain Water.
This has to be hard living in a small caravan with a young child. Unreal effort I hope it all works out.
I see the apprentice is on it. Well done, one step at a time

Well done on getting the creeper down, your guttering and the water butts.
Love your phrase “banking your water”

@@GreeneDiaries oh, thats brilliant. We are glad you are ok and looking forward to more of your videos. Have a lovely weekend 🥰
Very interesting, thank you.
Just found your channel. I would be interested to know how much the land cost as i am looking to do similar possibly in Ireland
Just came across your channel. Is there a tour of the inside?
We're actually working on that video ☺️ Thanks for Watching!
Plenty of rain in the west of Ireland. Might as well make use of it, right?

As long as it rains, but yeah I agree
I use ibc,s in my urban and my off grid place uk madness to flush treated water in UK

I don’t think you would be in any danger of running out of water in Ireland
17.30 was that fluent Irish?

Why don't you find a spring? There will be one not far away. Better than rainwater. Ask the locals and consult an OS map.
You need to speak louder and clearer.thanks
