Hey Everyone! We finally have water at the property! :) It's been so nice not having to drive so far to the fill-up point. In this video, we show you how we installed it. We're big fans of doing things the bootleg way as you'll see but as we always say " If it's stupid & it works, then it's not stupid!" We hope You Enjoy!
Clearing a Centuries worth of Bramble growth on our abandoned Garden! Offgrid Ireland

Hey Everyone When we purchased our fairytale cottage there was over half an acre that we couldn't even access as it had become a bramble farm. The land had been abandoned for over a hundred years before us moving in, so the Plant had plenty of time to get comfortable and put down roots... In this video, we show you the beginning of us clearing of the mountain of blackberry bushes and revealing ...

Hi! We're the Greenes, and last year, we sold everything we owned and moved 500 miles west from the Uk to rural Ireland to pursue our dream of off-grid eco-living. Today we show you around the acre we've bought and some of the plans we have for it. Other than what we've read in books we're total beginners, but with a Passion for DlY, the Planet and living on our own terms. If that sounds intere...

We're finally on site! Hello everyone :) Our "road" or Carpark has finally been finished and after months parked on a I0° angle just at the side of the road; we are at last on safer, more private ground. No more accidental flashing to our neighbours! We recorded the towing process to show you this milestone for us! See you soon! x
What happened? I was ready to subscribe…🫢
Goodness what a bunch of whiners on here against a young hard working and inspiring family with their family dreams. I hope you’re not troubled by this sorry lot. You do know that whining is just good ole envy and jealousy. Carry on homesteaders! You are the true grit of what the old Irishman are made of. The others just sit in their basement looking at a screen - this is all they got and can show for themselves. Sad, really. Somebody good in your life has raised you sturdy and solid.
Mental hospital ring any bells
😬 really?
Have you done any videos in the last year? I watched your first three following your arrival on site. I just came back to your channel now and subscribed, but I can not see any other videos apart from clearing the land one.
Hi & good luck in your new adventure. Like someone else suggested, maybe better Video equipment. Also appreciate the fact you don't want to show your baby, but the constant blocking is very distracting. Also invest in good microphone. X
Hello are you all ok?Not had any videos since this last one.
Nice job, what county are you in?
A digger would have scraped that clear in a morning.
Wonder are they still there or maybe something happened
Just found your channel. I would be interested to know how much the land cost as i am looking to do similar possibly in Ireland
Ireland looks a lot like the pacific northwest
I don’t think you would be in any danger of running out of water in Ireland
I live on a 3 acre property in Pennsylvania , USA. My home was built in 1850. But the house was built up on the road because quick access to the road was important back then. So there’s traffic. But I have thick soundproof windows so that is not a problem. I’m 62 so I appreciate not having a long driveway to shovel out of in winter. I also now appreciate being close to the road in case I should need to get someone’s immediate attention for help. These are things important to me as I age. But you are a young couple, so enjoy yourselves. I would have loved a property such as yours back when I was younger.
The very best of luck to you 🎃
I see a comment suggesting that you buy some goats to clear your field and note that “The Restoration Couple” have used pigs to successfully clear shrubs, brambles etc with great results. Best wishes for your project.
i may be living near you im not sure area looks familar welcome
Your little one is adorable 💕
Wishing you all the very best with everything you do 💚
Heheh we did the same last year we are in clare and living the good life ❤ I just adore ireland and the Irish are just amazing
You're absolutely delusional beyond all comprehension if you or anybody will think you can go off grid in Ireland....But keep living the dream till they come knocking, privitisation is going to disappear in MANY places !! Go read the Irish constitution and you'll get your answer!!On the current trajectory if things do not change, ireland will end up being one of the worst places to live for agenda 2030..
N17 so mayo or Galway. Nice. Mayo myself. Keep up the good work
'Visited' Ireland for the first time ...as if ina dream ...unfamiliar views .(except for the watery road and ferns and the brown - coloured grass field which gives the impression of a ripened rice field ...do not know the locatolion ...only know that the place exists on this earth ...which I will never be able to explore ...(our Mother Earth is so vast )!
Untouched for a 100 years? Nice corrugated roof they put on back then😂
I'm Irish but live in Catalunya...how I miss the rain! Make the most of it!
Great video, I live in a stone cottage built in 1780 in south Wales, UK. I must put up a video as it so interesting to see.
A few goats would clear the land for you by feasting on those brambles.
Wow amazing. Wishing you well but I am very jealous of your beautiful setting.
❤
Take your time doing it up everyone’s rooting for ya !
Did they tell you it rains here?
What an adventure! All best wishes and good luck to you!
Honestly if I don’t read the caption just going by the landscape I would have assumed this was New Zealand. The ferns, bramble, open land, streams, wet environment lol.
I love how you guys think. Majority of Rural New Zealand is on Rain Water.
Think they've give up n gone😂😂😂😂
Live you're dream. 👏 👏 👏
Love it!! We’ve just sold our house in the UK and are planning on doing exactly what you’re doing very soon!
👍
Ah, the innocence of youth....That's some project you've got ahead of you? Go for it by all means but I'm just saying from my experiences that it's going to require A LOT of hard work and a fair bit of money to get where you want to be. Good luck on your adventure.
You are living my dream!! I’ve been looking at Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim for years but cannot leave yet but I will, one day ❤ I look forward to following your channel ( with envy !! ) xx
Hand wash, wring, hang hey presto! Such a waste of a contraption! Look for the easy way and prioritise jobs!
I am absolutely buzzing for you and all you family.
Enjoying watching this young couple.I hope I can watch it to the end
proximity and noise of that main road undermines this which is a pity, hope that works out
Good on you young one's and I am certainly think the gravity of the situation is landing. It's a real change don't give in to the easy, this will be worth it
Not sure this idea will catch on for off grid living. I may have used a bowl or large bath and wrung it by hand.
Good luck. I am English and have been in Ireland 7 years in County Sligo. I bought a partly renovated cottage, the essentials were already done but have put in a rainwater system, proper drainage, a polytunnel and i have 2 solar panels and batteries to keep the fridge and other things going in an emergency. It is hard work but the freedom and peace is great.
Good luck!
Can you actually just help yourself to rocks from your neighbours land in Ireland ,? Or is everything just public land ,and you can rebuild walls from wherever you like ?
im off grid now for 25 yrs, not eazy but great,, just do it ,
Fair play to you’s . Love to see people actually getting busy and creating the lifestyle they want. Wishing you all a happy life, good health and memories. 👏👏🇮🇪☘️
Hopeless land! You can see why it's largely planted or gone wild. Good luck!
