- On his farm close to the Pyrenees mountains in France Govan Quinquis is breeding Meréns horses. The old breed is typically living in the mountains where they get very rustical, strong, and healthy. Once a year Govan brings a part of his herd to higher regions in the mountains. In this Episode of RIDE, we’re in the saddle for the annual “Transhumance” that sees mild-mannered Merens make the two-hour trek up the Pyrenean mountains to their summer grazing land.

This guy looks loves his horses. So wonderful.
Good morning, Govan. You are a magnificent breeder to the Pyrenean Merens mountain horses. You are one with their herd. The pasture is lush and nutritious.
Thanks, too, for making them safe up there by blocking off the dangerous slopes and checking on them every couple weeks.
👍👏🤩
The audio was perfect on this. What a great relationship between the horses and their steward. 💜
Never heard of this breed before. They're beautiful.
This is magical
Lovely look at a little-known breed of horse. I have ridden in the Pyrenees (on the Spanish side) and it is truly magnificent. The horses who live their lives there are strong, intelligent, agile, and great hosts for their mountain world. Well done, thank you.
Nice place to stay for the summer and being with his horses.
Great video - thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn about this breed.
