THIS IS A MUST RIDE trail in Arizona | Red Mountain Rush (RMR) at Hawes Trail System | Phoenix, AZ

- If you have an opportunity to ride in Phoenix, Arizona, make sure you checkout Hawes Trail System. This trail system is close to Scottsdale and within the Mesa region. It contains XC and all mountain type of trails within the Tonto National Forest.
This is the first time riding my bike here in Arizona. If you checkout Trailforks, this areas has hundreds of trails. After some UA-cam research, Red Mountain Rush also known as “RMR,” caught my attention the most. Why? It has scenic views, good flow, and mostly downhill! This trail will not disappoint. First 25% is gnarly with steep sections and hairpin switchbacks. Then the rest is flow.
I was fortunate to be shuttled from Bush Lite Parking lot to Usery Parking Lot at Lance’s Trailhead. This cut my climbing more than half.

Distance: 6 Miles
Climbing: 708 ft of elevation (2 miles)
Descent: 1,308 ft (3 miles)
Route: Lance’s Trail - Alpe d’Huez - Goat - RMR - Wild Horse - Bush Hwy Access

Your home trails are awesome! Hawes is such a great place to ride with tons of variety. And the scenery is epic. I’m planning another trip back from NM and will be bringing my son this time.
