Holly you should definitely try the 5x5 book challenge for next year! It's where you choose 5 categories (or topics/genres), and 5 books within each category so that you cover a variety of your interests while still exploring them a bit more in depth with 25 books total. It can be broad like "british classics" or niche like "running", or about a country to explore its authors, anything you like! It'd be cool to see your list.
oh wow this sounds like a really cool idea!! thank you Melanie 💚✨
You should use Story Graph, makes charts and graphs based on what you’ve read and as someone who loves organisation and a good chart it seriously motivates me to read more!
I really loved “the seven husbands of evelyn hugo” from Taylor Jenkins Reid 🤩
The best books I have read this year are Circe (feminist Greek mythology retelling), Project Hail Mary (really fun and gripping and emotional scifi, also great if you are new to the genre) and the Daevabad Trilogy (fantasy taking place in the Middle East)
I loved “Turtles all the way down” from John Green! ✨
Aww I love that you’re getting back to reading. I just finished Song of Achilles and really liked it if you want to give it a go. Hope you feel better! ❤
To do lists really help out get things done ✅ 👌
Am thinking of starting to read as well in 2023. I like the books you have selected. 🥰
ah yay!! super glad to hear this 👌🏻 and I’m excited to continue reading more next year hopefully!!!
Where the Crawdads sing is definitely one of my favourite films of the year, it was so relaxing and has some really beautiful scenes xx
Holly, I saw the film 'Where the Crawdads Sing' three months ago, but I never read the book. You can read Homer's 'Iliad' and 'Odyssey'. You do not have to read those books only if you want to. It was just a suggestion.
A Thousand Splendid Suns is unforgettable. And The Lightkeeper’s Daughters by Jean Pendziwol (ignore the uninspiring cover, the book’s brilliant). Happy reading! 🤓 📚
•winter by knausgaard
•a little life by hanya yanagihara
• the priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon
• the secret history by donna tartt
2 books I can recommend: Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo - lighthearted and interesting and The kite runner - very interesting story full of surprises.
I've read The kite runner totally recommend that ;)
ahhhh thank you so much Katarina! i haven't heard of the first one actually 🙈
My favorite book is by Daniel Glattauer: Love Virtually, and I don't read this book often, but I read it when I need it. When I had a bad few days, I read this book, since "it helps me get out of a hole". Yesterday I just read the second book in one sitting and it was as good as the first. 10/10 would recommend both.
If you love a romance Emily Henry is the one, beach read, book lovers and people we meet in vacation are my faves. I also loved any of the Taylor Jenkins Reid books like daisy Jones and the six xx
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is fabulous!
"Lost Connections" by Johann Hari, which is a book about the causes of depression and how to find hope.💫As well as "Atomic Habits" by James Clear.🔥
My book recs:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Vicious by V.E. Schwab
Yerba Buena by Nina LaCour
The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller
Carol by Patricia Highsmith
Ace by Angela Chen
One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
I could go on and on :) but that'll do for now.
And I personally really enjoyed 'Beautiful World Where Are You' by Sally Rooney, but I appear to be a bit jn the minority on that one. I would recommend it.
Lots of love ❤️
Cute grandparents singing happy birthday!
haha they always do it over the phone as well 🙈🙈🙈
@@HollyGabrielle yea my grandparents would do the same lol.
i have like a thousand recommendations, but one of my most recent reads was The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa (please let that be the correct spelling) and as a cat lover it just gave me such a nice feeling while reading (except when i was crying ofc), so i think you might like it!
I recently watched 'Where the crawdads sing' and I liked it to the point I might re-watch it sometime later but I haven't read the book.
Holly, read the Neapolitan Tetralogy by Elena Ferrante. The books are incredibly good.
Some book recommendations: If We Were Villains, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, Ariadne, Circe, Loveless, Clap When You Land, The Island of Missing Trees and The Bread the Devil Knead
I hope you, your family and everyone in the comments have a lovely Christmas, Hanukkah or Posadas Navidenas if you celebrate, or if not, a wonderful end to the year ❄️
oooo thank you so so much!! and i hope you enjoy Christmas and the rest of 2022 too 💚✨
A thousand splendid Suns is an amazing book
Omg and "The Circle" by Dave Eggers! It's sooo gripping. The movie is complete trash but the book is fantastic!
Also I really enjoyed "Klara and the Sun" by Kazuo Ishiguro. It took me a while to get into it, but then I finished it in basically one sitting. Such a different and special book.

I came upon a lighthouse by Shanthanu Naidu, Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami, A man called Ove by Fredrik Backman
I feel like you might like a man called Ove by Fredrik Backman it’s also been made into a Swedish film and is being made into an English film with Tom hanks as the main guy and they changed the name to Otto instead of Ove. My personal favourite this year was Verity by Colleen Hoover it’s a romantic thriller 18+ and please check trigger warnings before reading it
Hey holly,
The fault in our stars is actually an amazing book
Love ur videos 💚💚
Holly, try the book "Born to Run". You will love it.
oooo i've read 'Eat and Run' but not this one, so maybe i've have to give it a go! 👌🏻 thank you!!
Legends and lattes is so great! 😅 and i don’t even like fantasy or video Games
I absolutely loved Beautiful world where are you !
I really loved "Beautiful world, where are you", would highly recommend!! it discusses a lot of political and societal problems though, so I guess that's the reason why many people didn't like it.
The Silent Patient!!!
Also why aren’t you updating Goodreads?
I recommend it ends with us and it starts with us by Colleen Hoover

Love from India❤️
recently I finished "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy, would recommend, a very good read
“It starts with us” is so wholesome and one of the best books I’ve ever read.
which type of genre do you mostly read
I don’t actually find myself reading one genre in particular actually 😅 . . . and I haven’t actually read that many books in my life (lol 😂) but maybe i’ll gravitate more towards something as I read more books!?
My all time favourite book is the alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I could read it over and over again.
I also recommend anything by Catriona Ward ! She‘s a great author
Thanks for watching 🔝🔝
