- In today's vlog we head to Disney's All Star Movies Resort for a hotel walking tour! We checked out the Secret Food Menu in yesterday's vlog, you can watch that here- • Ordering Everything On... . First we take a look at the lobby, gift shops, arcade and food court. We loved the theming through out. Then we take a look at the pools, splash pad and play ground areas. We also take a look at each section of the resort. They're all themed to different Disney movies, like, Toy Story, Fantasia, Herbie the Love Bug, 101 Dalmatians and The Mighty Ducks! I don’t know how Tim gets to be “King of the Bus” so often. I’m usually “King of Standing shoulder to shoulder with people” when I’m on a Disney bus. 😀
Going from Disney Springs to a resort at early morning hours helps. :-)
Early mornings and weekdays! But yea, me too with the crowded buses! This is why I mostly use uber and lyft nowadays, I'm over the crowded buses!
Yeah I'm not always having a picture perfect day freezing to death stood up on a disney bus!

I stayed at music in January for 3 days. I did not have King of the bus either lol!!
The Herbie area was themed to the original movie, hence why it says “The Love Bug” everywhere. The Lohan remake came out in 2005 and was called “Herbie Fully Loaded” and came out in 2005. The resort opened in 1999. The Fantasia 2000 side of the hotel is themed after “The Steadfast Tin Soldier” and “Friar” Donald and Daisy are from the Noah’s Ark section... Pongo’s wife is Perdita... and Canine Crunchies are mentioned in the film- they watch a commercial for them on TV.
Razor Kanguru I was just about to say when the resort opened and that Herbie was one of the original named and themed hotel. Also the badge on the bonnet of Herbie is correct, I know this because my husband and I have had a many Vdubs and mine is the same as Herbie but she was Yellow.
I was going to say the same thing! I stayed in the herbicide section in the spring of 1999! It had just opened!

The Donald and Daisy statues were from Fantasia 2000, in the Noah's Arc segment. I think also that they had 15 puppies, and saved the rest from Cruella, adding up to 101.
DjTechnoid Donald and Daisy did not have fifteen puppies they had nothing to do with the movie 101 Dalmatians . That was Perdita and Pongo.
Since this is the "movie" resort, I wonder why they made a Fantasia 2000 BOOK??
The puppy by the tv was Lucky! He has the horseshoe made with spots on his back. He was also the puppy that almost didn't survive but Roger saves him. 😁
I was not going to spoil it on how Lucky got his name. Yes he almost did not make it. Till Roger kind of did some kind of pup resuscitation and revived him and named him Lucky.
Ahhhh memories! We were there last October for our honeymoon! We staying in the mighty ducks building! 🦆🏒
Daisy and Donald are wearing their costumes from the "Pomp and Circumstance" part of Fantasia 2000. They are dressed in Noah's ark garb.
The All-Star Movie is one of my favorite resorts, because of the theming. I think the Fantasia pool may be my favorite at Disney World. Thank you for checking it out!

All Star Movies was a Lifesaver when i needed Baby Formula in Fall 2017 for my 9mth old. Movies saved me too when Music and Sports Ran out.

“Canine Krunchies” is the commercial the puppies loved in the movie. Also there are 99 puppies so Pongo and Perdita make 101. 🤗
Also the pup that loves that commercial of Kanine Krunchies the most is of course Lucky.
The MOM Dog is Named PERDI.

@ Just wanted to make sure. I had to look it up because of this since I could never remember if it was Perdita or Perdy, and then I learned that it's both. Made me feel a bit less crazy

The Herbie Bananas and Monte Carlo clapboards represent the movies Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo and Herbie Goes Bananas. There are also one that says 53 which stands for the first movie, The Love Bug. And another one called Rides Again that represents Herbie Rides Again. Wow that was a lot. Keep up the good work guys!

Herbie Goes Bananas and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo were old-school Herbie movies. We stayed in the Herbie section, much quieter and great parking near the room. We had adjoining rooms for Grandma.
Happy Memories. I remember the people I was with when I saw it at the local cinema.

Stayed here in 1999 and it was fab. So much easier to go out of the Lobby and just get on a bus to where we wanted to go. The food court was reasonably priced compared to the rest of WDW. Loved that we could refill our mugs with drinks for free. At that time you could not get alcohol anywhere in WDW at all, except in a restaurant. We did hire a car for the middle week and went to the Florida mall, we went to a timeshare place and got tickets for Seaworld, Universal and Busch Gardens at 8 dollars each so worth a few hours and a free breakfast. I really love watching Tim and Jenn.

I rewatch this video a lot, so nostalgic to see the hotel my family stayed at many times throughout my childhood

Thanks Tim and Jenn! I got a little emotional watching this because my first ever vacation was at an All Star Resort when I was 9. We didn’t have much money growing up, so it was a very special “once in a lifetime” trip for us. Little did I know that 17 years later I’d be living in Orlando and going to Disney all the time 😂 Love your videos!

Just so you know, the beetle that you got up close too was correct for the model year herbie was. The Vw badge on the bonnet was there up until the 70 and the roof isn’t a cabriolet it’s a ragtop fold back roof. Otherwise known as a golde ragtop.

I don't think many if us would forget the love bug and all the Herbie films. I also loved these movies. Whenever I watch one of them it just takes me back to my childhood again, a long time ago, in yet in some ways doesn't feel that long ago.

I've been waiting for this one, this was the very first Disney resort I stayed at nearly 10 years ago. Stayed at quite a few since but this will always be magical to me since it was the first.

I was OBSESSED with 101 Dalmatians as a kid so my parents got us a room in that section every year. I haven’t been back as an adult, glad it’s still the same! That’s Lucky in front of the TV btw, you can tell by the horseshoe pattern on his back. ❤️🐶

Ah, this is timely as I'll be there in two weeks for my birthday wooohoooo!! I usually stay at POP, but couldn't get a room there this time, so it's All Star Movies for this trip! I think I stayed there once before, but it's kind of a blur lol!
Super Enthused have a fabulous birthday 🎈🎂. You will love ASM. We stayed there last year for our first visit to WDW but this year have opted for Pop Century. Can you recommend a good section to stay in?

gertie37 thank you! I like the 70s building. It’s in a good spot, it’s just warm and cozy to me, easy walk to the lobby and pool but a bit off the beaten path. 🤗🤗🤗
Super Enthused thank you 😊. I've watched so many vlogs and was toying with the idea of the 70s block - it's in a similar position to Toy Story at ASM and that's where we stayed last year. Roll on the Summer, the excitement is too much haha 😊.

Pongo and Perita are the parenta dogs. You do count them into the 101 and the 101th dog is Lucky.
Actually Lucky was one of the original 15 pups of Perdita and Pongo.

Love this resort, All Star Movies was the first Disney Hotel I ever stayed at back in 2004. Cruella DeVille visits the resort sometimes and uses the tv picture spot for meet and greets too. At least she did when I visited there.

I love to stay in Toy Story 10 when I come to WDW because there's pathway to the buses behind the building that's quicker than going around the resort and through the lobby

Is there a way to request to be in a certain area?
Vicky Hernandez There are two different types of rooms you can select when booking, which are standard and preferred. The preferred costs a little extra but it guarantees that your room will be in a block closer to the facilities and buses, In All Star Movies, that would be the Toy Story, Fantasia and 101 Dalmatians blocks. When I’m checking in I always ask for a specific block and 8/10 they will be able to put me in a room there, or wait until later that day when one will be available. Just ask, and they will try their best to accommodate you. Fantasia is a great area as well though, as you are right next to the pool and directly opposite the food court.
