The '72' is purpose built for those who want to carry just one small camera with a high degree of protection.
Within the interior of this compact bag, the padding that makes up the front, rear and side walls of its body is constructed from two overlapping layers of closed cell foam cut in different patterns - keeping all edges and corners fully protected. Further padding has been sewn into the bottom of the bag, and we have also included a removable padded base. Beneath the outer lid is a top flap, once again made of foam, protecting the camera on all six sides in the event of a knock or fall.
With an outer body constructed of either Billingham 3 layer canvas or FibreNyte, the Billingham 72 offers the ultimate in water resistance and provides full defence against inclement weather conditions. Both materials are hard-wearing, lightweight and never require reproofing.

This bag is like a reverse Tardis. Quite big on the outside and very small on the inside. For some reason only known to themselves Billingham decided to put a double layer of their foam padding inside compared to their other bags. On the positive side it has great Billingham quality.

I got the green fabric with chocolate leather. Love the bag. Fits the camera with handgrip perfectly. I don't use the front pocket, but I do have a flat accessory pouch that goes under the camera, since the internal height is just right for that. I don't think that this bag attracts thieves.

My god, it’s the photography equivalent of those nokia 3310 pouches middleaged men used to fasten to their belts at the turn of the millenium. Ghastly and the very antithesis of Leica stylishness. It’s like decorating the headrests on a Porsche 911 with doilies or something. Still, thanks for the review because I was seriously contemplating buying this based on written reviews.

I used to like this bag, but wishing it has a handle to pick it up easily. Oberwerth Q bag is the same, perfect fit, but no handle. Small Hadley Pro is bigger but much easier to use. Wotancraft 3.5L is lighter, cheaper and holds a lot with similar classic military look.

Have the Q2 and this bag and absolutely agree. Works well with it without the hood/cap and there's just enough spare room to easily fit the strap or pulling the camera out without fuss.

Beautiful bag, but as stated it doesn't work well, unless you remove the thumb grip and MATCH technical lens cap
