What a precious little filly! Considering how many aristocratic titles you've already got in your barn as names, Duchess or Princess would fit well as a name for her. And Lady really is a great mom -- she brought her into the world all by herself and she's taking great care of her baby while still being perfectly relaxed about Jim and Brenda handling her. What a great horse she is in all respects!
I agree 💯 on the names and it lady's calmness with Jim touching her filly goes to so how much lady trust Jim as the pack leader but I wonder if lady's temperament will change if it's just Brenda in there with out Jim being around just a thought
I agree these two names are lovely and very appropriate
No, our forefathers fought to get us away from the monarch. We don't need more reminders of the tyranny we came from!!!
What a sight to wake up to. Lady did great. The mare is so calm, beautiful filly.
For sure plus a sunny day.
The baby looks like a princess
Congrats to all! Filly cannot be over handled! Lady’s acceptance of your fondling her little girl is priceless. An absolute sign of the respect she has for you two.
I totally agreed 🐎💕💖
Best to let babies bond with mother instead of humans.
I agree! Lady trusts you with her baby, and the more you handle her, the calmer she'll be as she grows up. Precious baby!!
Well the big day has finally arrived. Lady seems to have come through it all with flying colors. I certainly hope she has enough milk to sustain the filly.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! A filly, that's even much better! Call her Bree anyway since it is so close to Brenda's birthday...an early birthday present!
That was great, being invited onto your farm at 6 in the morning when the day is fresh and the filly was just birthed. A great thing about farm life is you're up and out early, and on a sunny morning with the birds chirping and a new foal, it's a real gift to experience.
Congratulations! Lady and Baron made a Queen. Lady won't make a big bag for her first foal but she should have enough milk. She might need some extra feed to keep up. Great video.
That's somewhat reassuring. But not as reassuring as the baby actually drinking.
I wasn't too concerned with the size of bag but her age and it being a first.
I know Jim was and hopefully your comment will help his concerts.
Ù
Lady's milk may come in soon if it's not already. Colostrum is the most important element! Good luck with your new team member!
I had one mare that did not clean out, and we gave her a shot for that, the second year she did the same thing, but after her 9 day foal heat she was fine.
Almost all our foals were born some were around 3 to 5 am.
@@robertwoelk26 it's odd eh! May grandfather said the same, that or during a gale, so often he'd bunk in the bothy beside the stalls..
I am 75 and when I was young my dad was a cater so we did everything with horses. So this takes me back ,such a lovely fowl . So from the U.K. good luck .
I'm from the UK too ,East Midlands ,have a wonderful sunny Bank Holiday weekend 😊
Terry Clifton, not much younger..
But same here, grandfather was the Horse Foreman ( everything from the heavy hunters, irish cobs to Clydesdale) on the estate, and before that he was a carter and cavalryman.
Uncles all were horseman. That and worked our farm mostly with horse, and when I left army, I worked horse in woods for 3 yrs while getting my head straight again..
I am not at all surprised that Lady had her foal over night. All the foals we had on the farm we never saw one being born. Did catch a couple wet ones but they were already on their feet. Lady is going to make a great Mom, the concern for her foal when she did not follow Jim into the barn with a bucket of oats shows her priorities.
So exciting! It seems like most horses foal at 3AM. Years ago we used to try to check a pregnant mare often throughout the night (many nights!) and inevitably they would drop their foals as soon as we couldn’t stay awake any longer…3AM! Congratulations, Lady, on your pretty little princess! ❤️
Oh, how wonderful! Beautiful filly! We are sooooo happy for you! Lady will be a great momma too Thank you for sharing her with all of us. Baron is a proud papa.
Bree would be a get name!🎉
Agree..
Beautiful filly bri is still a great name
She is a beauty!! Happy that everything worked out for lady, with no issues!!
Absolutely beautiful. Lady looks relieved and no longer pregnant. Brenda you should still name the filly BREE. Its a beautiful name and close enough to your birthday . I think this baby is going to be a Fabulous addition to the farm. CONGRADULATIONS everyone. People and horses included.
Congratulations grandma and grandad
Congratulations Lady, Brenda and Jim. When I received the notice on Facebook, I ran into the living room where my husband was taking a nap and yelled Lady had her baby and woke him up to watch the video. We are so excited for all of you.
Brenda you could still call her Bree, it’s a nice name too 😊
Congratulations Lady.
Always amazing I’m sure she will have a wonderful life
Happy Birthday Brenda
Oh my goodness I got it spot on go look at the comments, I said Lady would have the foal on the 27th early hours and it would be a filly, wow I can't believe it, congratulations Brenda and Jim, welcome new foal and well done lady, good job. Lol I think you should call her Shelley, haha.
👍🏻
Well done Lady!
The first 3 hours is very important for the filly to have milk.👍
AWWW she is BEAUTIFUL! SO SWEET!!! And the way Lady loves her baby nearly brought a tear to my eye. Congratulations!!
There's something so calming and happy to the soul about a new baby on the farm, especially when it's a horse. Momma is so sweet and contented she's not worried about her humans handling her baby. Congratulations, IT'S A GIRL. Now pass out the cigars.
There she is.....she looks wonderful.
CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉 she has a star & stripe. Love the name bree. She will change color when she sheads her foal coat
Congratulations, love the name Bree.
She's here!!! Congratulations! 🎁🎀🎈 What a beautiful way to start a nice long weekend ❤ Thank you Jim & Brenda for bringing us along. Now we're all looking forward to watching this new Little Lady grow up. Blessings all around 😊
Awsome lady is so gorgeous
The Lord knew if the colt came on Brenda's birthday and was name Brenda, it would cause all kinds of confusion in the videos! Have a blessed birthday, Brenda.
Proud mama and beatyful daughter
I thank GOD that your new family members have arrived safe and sound. A perfect grand child and filly. GOD blesses us.
Beautiful!
How about morning star?
For a name.
and remember, Lady will get more milk as time goes by and the filly nurses more. Colostrum is what baby is getting now. Congratulations!!!
Sure did make me smile this morning! Congratulations Lady and Barren!! She's so friendly already! Thanks for showing and it's clear you both are very happy with the new little one. Thankyou for sharing and bringing me a smile. Nothing like a new life to this world
Congratulations, she’s beautiful
Woohoo 🎉 look how beautiful.!!❤❤❤
Congratulations on the filly. She's so sweet and Lady is a terrific momma.!😊🎉
She is beautiful congratulations!
I would say it is an accurate' estimation of the time of birth. Beautiful filly that looks healthy and happy and with a very attentive mom. Congratulations.
Congratulations on the safe delivery of your filly foal. She's strong & feeding well, & what a lovely temperament she will have.
Our 2nd goal was born on Christmas morning, the children were so excited, we called her Christmas Blessing, she's 26 yrs old now & was my youngest daughter 's first pony, my grandchildren love her. I know your grandchildren will love Lady's foal too xxx
She's so beautiful
congratulation she's beautiful.
Aww! Uncle Bill was concerned about his new niece! Lady will be "dispensing" colostrum for short bit, then just like with nursing women its supply/demand. She'll provide enough. She's healthy & well nourished, should do great. For a maiden mare, Lady has great natural instincts. She holds the hind leg on the side the foal is nursing from back a bit so baby can better access Mom's teats. Clever little filly foal! Congratulations- I'm celebrating the Blessings of God as I'm sure you all are as well. Such a miracle.🎀
I think you already named your gorgeous filly Brenda! She is a Doll. Or Dolly .
Good for you for getting close to the filly and having her comfortable around you. It is very important to do that early, and does not interfere with the mare and foal bond. You actually become a part of that bond. People need to realize that if you need to vet a foal that is scared of people ,it can negatively affect their view of humans and can take some time to get over that.
Congratulations Lady, Jim and Brenda on a gorgeous filly. She is perfect ! You are blessed !!
What a little beauty! Congratulations Lady!!! I'm glad mommy and baby are healthy. What a little joy she is! ❤🎉❤
Woo Whoo a Beautiful Baby. Congratulations Lady & Baron❤❤
Hi, Jim and Brenda
My husband, Jim and I have been watching your UA-cam channel for a couple of years.
We were absolutely thrilled to see that Lady’s filly was born on MY birthday 😊
I really hope you name her “Bree”.
I would certainly never forget her name. 🎂
Happy viewer,
Brenda
What a wonderful day, beautiful filly safely arrived and has turned grouchy Lady into Super Mum! Fabulous video, congratulations….and I love the name Brie by the way, perfect for her creamy coloured legs!x❤️🥰
Oh my goodness, CONGRATULATIONS on your new, healthy filly!!! Lady looks so happy and content!
Great job lady
I have never seen a Mama horse quiet THIS calm. My horse didn't even want people close to her filly, BUT she wasn't a sweet-natured Mare like Lady either.
Yea Lady what a beautiful little gal you have 🙏. Thanks Jim n Brenda for sharing this experience with us. 👍
Alright . A Blessing from The Good Lord !!!
Fantastic beautiful baby! So glad for Lady and you all!😊🎉🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️
"Congratulations", Lady!! You have a beautiful baby girl!!! Letting Jim & Brenda be that close to you & your lil filly shows all of us that you are going to be a GREAT MOM!!! "Congratulations", Jim & Brenda!! Your new addition was every min of the wait. Thank you for sharing your wonder news with all of us!!! God Bless
She didn't make Brenda's birthday, but today is my dad's 70th. Nice work, Lady
Congratulations Lady and everyone 🎉 Draft horses are so quiet, even when they are first born. I have only seen smaller breeds of foals like the quarter horse, they are so clingy to their mother's. I have never seen such a quiet foal. She even let Brenda run her hands down her legs. That is awesome!
I watch Friesian horses and even as calm as they are, their foals are much more shy and active compared to Lady's filly. This was so amazing!
Her bag will kick in as the days go by.
What a nice moment! Nice to see that the foal appears healthy and is nursing. Congratulations to Lady, and to you for all the care you give her.
such a pretty little girl....love the blaze on her face. the color is really light too. Congratulations
The baby is like "can I help you?"😂 When she was nursing (or trying to). The way she looked at the camera like "do you mind, I'm trying to get a drink of momma's milk!" 🥰 lol She looks just like momma, with the white blaze down her face, she's a mini me of Lady for sure!❤
Wishing you the best of luck with her.
I can see the "Star of Bethlehem" on it's face! This is so Sweet!! Lady is such a good Mama, she's not even fighting yous being around her Baby!
Congrats to new filly....Finally...and looks healthy. Hope she is not too crabby.
❤ congratulations to lady, and congratulations to you guys too. You got a beautiful, healthy little filly. I just pray that lady does have more milk come in .
Congratulations Jim and Brenda!
What a way to start off my Saturday morning! Beautiful precious addition to the farm. Happy belated birthday Brenda and I know what I would be doing all day! I'm also so impressed with Lady not being concerned with you both touching her and the foal. Congratulations, what a happy day!
Congratulations Lucky Lady...so nice to have another filly..(filly for Philadelphia 2023)..but we like Breeanna too..we'll let Brenda choose...it's a birthday gift to Brenda. nice, what a beauty she is ..also very good to see your love poured on the baby,, I've never seen a calmer filly..great photos will come from this because you stood perfectly in a piercing morning sun..nice job guys..we love you both, have a wonderful wkend..xx
There is nothing more beautiful than baby horse. I’m going to name her Diamond, that for head is perfect for it.
Congratulations on Lady's brand new baby. She is a cutie and very calm with you touching her. Lady did a great job.
Oh she's so cute. Congratulations to you all. Thrilled she's arrived safe and sound.💞🤗🍀
I can't stop smiling! Thank you God for this beautiful little filly and mama! Congratulations Jim and Brenda! 💕🐎 Kathy from Indiana
It's a girl, so now you can build your herd quicker. Congratulations! I am SO happy for you guys (and Lady and Baron). May God bless and protect Gordon Family Farm and all who dwell there! 👍👍❤❤🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🙏🙏
I was right on the edge of my seat when Jim announced Lady might not have enough Milk for the baby 😢
But then all was resolved when you hand milked Lady 😊
Lady is a major player in your stories. 👍
Well done
Congrats to Lady!! What a beauty. I know you're proud Brenda and Jim.
Congratulations on the new baby! I am really looking forward to watching the new girl grow up.
Woo-hoo! We stopped everything and started watching! Since all your houses have royal names I think you should name her "Diana" after princess Diana ❤ I don't care that I lost on the due date because Lady and her baby are the only true winners in our book! 🐴
Congrats in the new baby !!
A Big Congrats to the farm and Lady. What a beautiful, perfect filly. ❤️
Happy birthday a little early Brenda! ❤️🌻
A beautiful little filly. She looks like a baby deer with that light coloring. I am surprised Jim has never cleared the rocks from that outside paddock. I would worry that a horse or this little filly could break a leg very easily.
Her forehead marking looks like the Christmas star...how beautiful she is!
Congratulations!!! She's beautiful!
Here’s our baby! Of course she’s beautiful and big and strong
The Horse and His Boy was the best Narnia story, agreed. Bree is a good name.
Beautiful baby. Congratulations 🎊 💜✌️
Awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Brenda, I would love to see the reactions of your daughters today when they see the baby!!! Please, film them.
Congratulations Lady!!! Congratulations Grandpa Jim and Grandma Brenda!!! Beautiful filly!!!
Awww such a beautiful girl! I miss my grandpas horses and the babies. It was always so exciting when there was a new baby.
What a great thing to wake up to. Thank you God and pray the filly will grow strong. I was so surprised how light colored she is. I thought for sure the foal would be more dark like Baron. Thank you for sharing.
Well done everyone, what a joy to see this beautiful little foal finally join that great team you have made there over the years.
If you're concerned about not enough milk your vet can probably give you a prescription and you can get it at a local pharmacy pills that are actually for humans but they will work on horses and allow their milk yo drop. I had to give to my mare last year. Beautiful filly foal
Yessss 🎉🎉🎉🎉 a filly!!! A little Belgium foal not much Suffolk characteristics.
She sure is cute and has a well marked head
CONGRATULATIONS !! Jim and Brenda on the long-awaited arrival of your filly !! Mother, Lady is doing well and proud father and filly are doing well !!
Fantastic congrats mama Lady
Congratulations from Germany 🎉!
What a cute foal 🐎🤗.
Lady is such a good loveley mom ❤.
Congrats folks! She's beautiful healthy looking filly, Love how she can just walk under mom. Color wise she has those Belgian genes, Can't wait to see more of her and see what she names her.
So happy! And she is going to be a friendly little girl because you settled her down when she tried to move away. Now she welcomes your affection and has already learned that you are her humans!. Isn't Lady doing well!!! I wish all new equine mothers did so well with their first foals. Congratulations to ALL.
I wish you could see the excitement on my face lm buzzing with a swollen heart of happiness.lve always thought she would have a filly....l think l said so many videos ago and hear she is.She had her Colostrum wich is the main thing. But l would watch from a little distance and let them bond as Lady is extremely protective its plain to see.Ladys milk will drop no problem. Congratulations ❤ will you might call her Grace!
The sweet precious little filly! How beautiful she is, and so is Lady with her nice dappling. Thank G-d, what a sweet blessing!!😄😍🥰 Congratulations!! 🤗 Got to say again, Duchess for this royal baby 😘👑
