Peter Rollins is hands down my favorite guest of yours. I’ve watched all of your podcasts with him many times. Each listen I gain something new, it’s such a gift.
I love that...SIMPLETONS!!! Someone told me years ago that I was simple. They said it was a compliment. I didn't get it then. Over the years, I'm achieving this. SIMPLE IS WONDERFUL!!! I love your content & contribution, fellas. Keep on fighting the good fight!!!
I loved the whole "Object A" philosophy, I think it was Oscar Wilde once said "there are two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, the other is getting it."
Amazing...synchronicity abounds, just posted a Schiller poem on "longing"!!! Thanks for the intro to Peter Rollins. Love Cicero! Fantastic podcast."Caught in the Eternal..." resonated clearly with a past relationship that surfaced during this podcast. WOW!
10:45 I lost my grandmother back in 2015. I considered her my actual mother because of everything she did for me. Its been almost 5 years and I still have not gotten my desire back. Depression is worsening day by day.
Jesse please don't allow your depression to worsen. I'm sure your grandmother would hope and dream for nothing but happiness for you. Find others who support you and accept their love.
@@sandysadeghi6157 my depression started before her death. It really got the ball rolling when she did though. To the point where I'm pretty much a mute unless spoken to. I'd love to try therapy but I'm too broke for such a thing. The only person in my life I feel worth talking to is my woman and even I dont want to spew my brains out towards her.
@@sandysadeghi6157 actually I have silent episodes. I think it just depends on the human. Some people I work with I enjoy talking to. Some id rather not speak at all
Regarding the Tesla. I consider myself a minimalist and mostly agree with your concept but the Tesla is one of the few items that owning it is better than it being only an object a. I would tell you to try it. You won't regret it and it does make Los Angeles much better for me. If I'm wrong you can give back the car in 7 days.
Hi Josh and Ryan, can you please put a trigger warning of you're gluing to be discussing rape on the podcast? I love you guys but I wasn't prepared for that.

Re: lust (and other yearnings). It's usually a better fantasy than a reality.
I like the advice to act like a 'human being' rather than a 'human doing' (~19:15)
Embrace the struggle...that is really the sweet spot.
In the last 7 days I've managed to stay out of depression and manage my life.

Always awesome to listen to 🤗🤗
once again analogy with cake.
Ryan is my spirit animal definitely
I aspire to become a Simpleton. Does that make it my Object A?
