    Been living in San Antonio, Tx for just over 3 years now and I get so offended when I hear "summer jacket" lol. Great video still! Very nice collection!

      lol, being originaly from the Bay Area, I didn't realize how spoiled I was with the weather until moving to Tx. I am mos def moving back when I can.@@almostvintagestyle

    As a fellow socal resident I can’t say I relate to the wearing of summer jackets.😂 I just run too hot. I’ve been taking advantage of local low 70s to slip into a denim jacket when I can though! Great video Jake!

      It depends on the day and the time of day haha. But yeah usually not possible

    Dehen is great but like you said. Scratchy but that’s how they made them back then. I’m a large but found I had to go to XL. Tight knits. Have two motorcycle sweaters but selling my large on eBay. Just a bit too small on me. My XL mid weight fits perfectly. The large was a much tighter knit. I do know McCoy was making jackets in NZ prior to 2011 but that could just be the sheepskin jackets.

      @almostvintagestyle  10 місяців тому

      Yeah the Dehen stuff is well made, but basically everyone will need a layer underneath. They do fit tight as well

    That Freewheeler Brakeman is dope!

    Do you get your freewheelers second hand? ... their production seems to be in small batches, & not much seems out there vintage.

    • @almostvintagestyle
      @almostvintagestyle  5 місяців тому +1

      It depends on the jacket. I've gotten some new and some second hand. I've sold all of them now though due to my switch to vintage

    Hi Jake, great video! Have you ever had or tried a Lost Worlds? If so, what do you think about them quality wise? I’m particularly interested in their Suburban.

    • @almostvintagestyle
      @almostvintagestyle  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes I have. The quality is very good, but they fit a certain way- more old school. If you like that and don't mind the chrome tanned leather, they're a great option

    For the Brakeman, Id say replace the buttons with something nicer. The black buttons just look like cheap plastic crap, regardless of weather or not they are. It just doesn't work with the brown. Get some brown buttons, ideally in a lighter shade then the leather itself. Maybe some nice light brown corozo buttons. Have a tailor sew them on or do it yourself. For $20 or less you'll improve this jacket by 100%.

    • @almostvintagestyle
      @almostvintagestyle  6 місяців тому

      That's fair. The buttons aren't nice. I've sold the jacket anyway

      Well it didn't work well enough. I had to sell it. You basically have to put a stretcher in the armpits while the jacket is a bit damp

      It may be possible, but I haven't come across any yet. It seems to usually be struck through. Possibly because of the sponge-yness of the leather? Not sure though

    Don't make their stuff in America anymore so no go? So you don't where Iron Ranger or anything made in Japan or anywhere outside of Merica?

    • @almostvintagestyle
      @almostvintagestyle  6 місяців тому +1

      The issue is not about made in USA. Mu issue is with them outsourcing to save money and make an inferior product to what they made before. I buy plenty of items made outside the USA, but I buy products made to be the best they can be, no matter what country that is in.
