Colman Randle lol he does not throw them open , we have above average receivers . I don’t feel like Mack and Victor are consistent. Olave is great and Garrett Wilson is special , he should be playing more.

@@brycewoodford7174 Hell no. That was a rainy as hell game. The issue as I see it had nothing to do with passing in a game like that; in a game like that, in that weather, running becomes increasingly valuable. I can't figure out why the best RB in the nation, hands down, Zeke had only 9 carriers, 6 in the opening two drives, and the final 3 through the second quarter. And then it's like the collective offensive staff forgot he was on the roster? On a game where you need a run most of all? Zero second half carries, 9 overall is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. And completely fucking inexplicable, because I haven't seen such an absurd thing in play-calling before or after that, to the best of my knowledge.
I do remember some MSU fans arguing with me years ago "but we were stopping you to like 2.5 yards a carry!"; yeah, and we did the same, but you kept running with your best RB who got better late; why? Don't you think at least a testing or two at the very least a series, and Zeke Elliot is just gonna break one at some point, like he has done with even better run Ds in the past? That would have probably counted for at least 7 points in my estimation, and definitely the win.
So yeah, fuck the who is the quarterback debate for that game. I really want to know is why EZEKIEL ELLIOT is a forgotten man on the roster for what should be a game where you want to rely on the run more? Sigh.
We had a terrible OC run during those Tim Beck years. Playcalling and basic strategy was the point of failure far more often than the personnel, which in most situations was usually better in any regards than what they put out on the field. I wish we had a Ryan Day OC during the Zeke/12 Gauge years; it would have been a sight to behold.

Cardale Jones was a PASS FIRST QB. Urban Meyer UTILIZED him. OSU won a national championship as a result. I can't think of a scenario that would be more applicable.

When Herman left, Urban tried to make Jones a tailback.
From what I saw, it cost Ohio State a shot at a another title.
@@robertcherry7190 cardale Jones was the starting QB day one in 2015 but he couldn't move the ball with consistency that's why they benched him for Barrett 2-4 games in. Jones had no accuracy whatsoever. He helped beat bama and won a natty though so much love to him.

As I saw it, he was not a read option / run 1st qb. Given the guys he had around him, he shouldn't have been.

I know we beat Alabama and Oregon but look at his stats those games. Look at his stats the following year. Rpo or not he's a big slow version of Jalen Hurts.

Urban Meyer screwed Cardale Jones big time for several years. He should have been the starting QB since 2011. He is a real QB, unlike Braxton Miller and JT Barrett. Urban Meyer is BAD at starting real QBs

First off Meyer was not at OSU in 2011 (and neither was Cardale, he was spending his one year at Fork Union Military Academy at the time). Also during Meyer's first season (2012) Braxton was the most experienced QB on the roster in terms of starts AND the best fit for Meyer's offense. It was a no-brainer to start him that year. Cardale was a true freshman that season, was third-string on the depth chart behind Braxton and Kenny Guiton (who people forget was also a quality backup who won multiple games as a starter), and as shown by the infamous Tweet struggled with maturity issues that season. The Cardale we saw in 2014 was molded by Tom Herman after a couple years in the system (and it took him some time to get there). I do agree Cardale got screwed in 2015 by playing in an offense that was run by Ed Warinner and Tim Beck. Cardale in Ryan Day's offense would've been a sight to behold.
Beck/Warriner era caught tOSU huge. JT Barrett regressed every year.
