They are such lovely animals. I just want to tell you about an experience I had with one of my Zois jumping like that though...he used to play and leap so high and managed to torsion his stomach from a flip and not one Vet knew what the signs were of that injury and he died. Had he been able to see a better diagnostician we could have saved him by pinning the lungs and stomach. Please keep an eye on your babies and should they suddenly get lethargic and go pale rush them to the best vet you can find and have them xray, ultrasound or whatever method they need to do and save their lives. It has been 20 years since this happened and I still weep at the very thought of my baby losing life because he had fun. Your borzoi are very pretty and worth whatever it takes to keep them that way. Love them a lot!
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. That's just an awful thing. Thanks for the warning. We are careful to not let them run after they eat, and we are in the process to getting them gastropexy'd (Lucy already is) which reduces the chances of them getting bloat.
@@LucyandSally Glad to hear you are doing the preventative steps and it won't be a problem...I actually miswrote that comment; it was his lung that torsioned and cut off the supply of oxygen to his blood. The pale gums should have been a dead giveaway to the several vets who attempted to treat him with transfusions but to no avail. Zorka was the absolute best dog in the world and I loved him so much. If there were more in the Denver area I might try again but alas they are in short supply here. Again, glad to hear about your babies...they are very pretty.
Awww that is sad to hear, but awesome information for others to be aware of. Its very unfortunate that animals/people have to suffer, for awareness . Sorry.
@@kathybricco7702 was there anything you could have been aware of to prevent the lung torsion? Sounds like the kind of thing that happens when it happens
@@LucyandSally studies show that rest after meals doesnt prevent bloat at all, so im not sure why so many vets still recommend it to their patients. what does matter however is how big the meal is and what kind of food it is. its way more safe to feed multiple small meals than one big. as for the kind of food, kibble is less safe than other foods, since it changes volume after soaking in the animal's digestive tract. the most common kind of dry food (made by extrusion) is the worst, the dried or cold pressed varieties are a bit better but still not as good as wet food or raw meat.
I've seen a borzoi running at 35+ mph jump over a dog that wandered in front of it with less than half a seconds notice. Their ability to clear sudden obstacles is absolutely unreal.
I used to think they were just extra stretchy and super pointy greyhounds but their behaviour is very different, my greyhound was very lazy and uninterested in playing, so are most I've met. These borzois are so energetic and playful, they remind me of boxers and dachshunds. They're very elegant and full of life. Beautiful dogs 👍
I do agree that our borzoi are more playful than our greyhound, but Homer used to play quite a bit before his back problems put a stop to it. Here are a couple videos of him playing. ua-cam.com/video/gA5j22B2DyY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/_kL_aFefDYo/v-deo.html
I don't know how often they actually hunted wolves, but you have to remember that they were typically hunting a solitary wolf in packs of 3-5 Borzoi. There is at least 1 video on youtube of hunts from the early 1900s. There are lots of videos of Greyhounds hunting coyotes, and they hunt in a similar way, 3-5 greyhounds chasing down a single coyotes. Also, my Borzoi are, although at the taller end for females, not very thick and heavy. I've seen much thicker and heavier males out there.
Borzois are both graceful and clumsy, cute and haunting, mystical and goofy looking dogs that exist. What a pair of wonderful oxymorons
they’re like if swans were dogs 😭❤️

UA-cam keeps recommending Borzoi videos to me and I don't know why, but I can live with that. :)
Me too ^_^/
same
have to watch them all 🙄
Anything video you watch gets its title pumped into the algorithm
Such magnificent horses.
I didn't know horses could jump that high
I think she almost got abducted by aliens with that jump.
It’s on my bucket list to meet one someday! I’m usually a cat person, but Borzoi’s are just the coolest dogs around.
Borzoi are half cat, half dog, and half horse.
What an adorable pair. She leaps so high with ease. I call those ears (standing up forward) "crazy ears" on my greyhound when he's being giddy.
Our greyhound has a lot more ear dexterity than either Lucy or Sally, but the borzoi can still stick their ears up when they really want to.
What a majestic horse
Borzois are just unbelievable animals… this pair is so lovable!
I love how two borzois playing looks like two pieces of paper trying to give each other a papercut.
Love them- Those are so weird, elegant and funny creatures. ;-)

Beautiful dogs! I feel like I'd have to have my hair and makeup done up and my best outfit on to hang out with them! 😅
Stunning divas!!!
Wow they’re big and beautiful🥰🥰💕🦋🌅
These dogs are mythical. Still not totally sure this isn't AI. But I'm choosing to believe this is real.
I love your videos they're so comforting to look at
Look at these two white stallions go .

Almost tripped and fell on on the ol' snoot!
these aren't dogs they're mystical beings
Nice hurdling. My Borzoi is 11 months old and likes to jump over my Bernese.
LMAOOOO the fact that they are completely silent it make them even more crazy
😃😃🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
Taking life's hurdles in stride!
Bloodborne bosses before the disease
Hippy greyhounds
❤️
Crazy
Total Karen move 😂😊
Can you say gazelle? 🐾♥️🐾
switch them to decaf
I cannot believe that borzoi can hunt wolf's in Russia. Are Russian wolves incredibly docile and thin? Somethings not adding up

Didn't I do it for you?
They look like they want to do something for me
rather small for horses, but surely too long to be dogs
Are they supposed to be that skinny?
yes as they are basically long haired greyhounds.
They are not skinny but highly aesthetic.
Does H Bolt carry excess weight- no.
Neither do these athletes
Don't you feed them?????
They are naturally thin dogs. Basically long haired greyhounds.
No. They are fasting
