This potent formula is designed to brighten and even out skin tone, reduce inflammation, and fight acne-causing bacteria. But when should you apply it? Before or after moisturizing? In this video, we'll discuss the benefits of each method and help you find the best way to incorporate this powerful ingredient into your skincare routine.
First, we'll explore the benefits of applying Azelaic Acid before moisturizing. This method can help the product penetrate more deeply into the skin, increasing its effectiveness. It can also provide a protective barrier that locks in moisture and prevents dehydration. However, it's important to make sure that the acid is fully absorbed before applying moisturizer, as it may cause pilling.
Next, we'll discuss the benefits of applying Azelaic Acid after moisturizing. This method can help reduce irritation and dryness, as the moisturizer acts as a buffer between the acid and the skin. It can also help the product to spread more evenly across the face, reducing the risk of uneven application. However, this method may be less effective in terms of penetration and absorption.
Finally, we'll offer some tips on how to incorporate Azelaic Acid into your skincare routine, including how often to use it and what other products to pair it with. We'll also discuss some potential side effects and how to minimize them.
Whether you're a skincare novice or a seasoned pro, this video will help you get the most out of The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%.

PLEASE READ: Today I had to stay for 6 hours in the hospital because of azelaic acid. After 10 days of use due to Rosaceae, my face, my eyesight, tongue and throat were swollen with strange pressure on my throat and on my chin. I had already noticed that my face was purging in the first 10 days, but I continued to use it after having seen the dermatologist for a double check. In the last two days my face started to get puffy. This morning at 04h30 AM I woke up half choking and with swollen eyes. I used Skinoren, 20% azelaic acid. At the hospital the nurse told me that she had seen more cases of reactions to azelaic acid. It triggered histamine upon renewing the deep skin tissue. This product can be dangerous. I will never ever come even near it.

The azelaic acid from the ordinary is only 10% as they don't introduce unsafe percentages. It looks like the place you got it from used a scarily high percentage of 20% which is deffo not suitable for skin and shouldnt have been sold as safe to use

@@ruqi-7397I use 20% daily for 2 years. I think it depends on the brand and.the other ingredients in the formulation plus each individual's reaction
No more acne after decades of trying different products. Worked for me but not my daughter. Made her acne worse.
I tried 10% for a year and did nothing for me.

It peels if you use it before makeup

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's not uncommon for products containing azelaic acid to cause peeling or flaking, especially if used before makeup. Azelaic acid is known for its exfoliating properties, which can help unclog pores and improve skin texture but may also lead to increased sensitivity or dryness, particularly when used in higher concentrations.
To minimize peeling when using azelaic acid before makeup, you might consider adjusting your skincare routine. Try using a gentle moisturizer or hydrating serum before applying azelaic acid to help buffer your skin and reduce the likelihood of irritation. Additionally, using a primer specifically formulated for sensitive or textured skin can create a smoother canvas for makeup application.
Remember to listen to your skin and adjust your routine as needed. If you continue to experience peeling or irritation, consider using azelaic acid less frequently or switching to a lower concentration. And always be sure to follow up with sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from further sensitivity. Here's to finding the perfect balance for your skin! 💖✨

I think they meant the product pills. I get this same reaction and it’s frustrating!

@@rebeccaleanne22 you might be experiencing the actual skin pilling ad mistaking it for product pilling? because the skin is exfoliating? maybe try using it only at night. it doesn't have to be a primer.

@@gigglesfollowedno azelaic acid is a piwder suspended in a vehicle to put it on the skin, it pills when it dries out. It does NOT exfoliate the skin.

can i use it in a skincare smoothie?

    • @thesocialitebeauty
      @thesocialitebeauty  7 місяців тому

Thanks for your question! While azelaic acid can be a beneficial addition to your skincare routine, it's generally not recommended to mix it into a skincare smoothie with other products. Azelaic acid formulations are designed to be applied directly to the skin for optimal efficacy. Mixing it with other products may affect its stability and potentially reduce its effectiveness. It's best to apply azelaic acid separately and allow it to absorb before layering other skincare products. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask!

It isn't an exfoliating acid no, but using them at the same time together isn't probably the best idea. Use az acid on days when you're not using AHAs BHA or Retinoids or at least use it in the AM and use your retinoid in the PM if you have something like tret.
