I attempted these last night. I was going from memory, and should've rewatched the vid first. I only waited about 40 mins before adding the foil n top coat. Needless to say, my foil sank a little bit. Thankfully it was just a test piece and I can adjust where I went wrong for the actual pieces. Thanks for the idea!

I love the way you keep the mold looking so clean. You would seriously have a laughing fit if you see me try that. I have a benign essential tremor in my hands and if I try to clean around the mold, I end up with the tissue in the resin, and then I’ll drop it. I’m seriously a very clutsy resin person for want of a better term lol

use the alcohol on the black, under the film, while the resin's slightly tackier than you had it, that way you can press the film down and release any tiny bubbles, and sink it into the black lightly in the process. The alcohol on top before the clear pour helps to hide the film edges better IMO. It's that wet on wet effect, the resin thins and seeps into the finer corners better that way. you could also put a tiny bit of glitter (maybe holo? or a tiny smidge of shimmery mica!) in your clear to help hide the film! They came out adorable!

Julie, I’m in the US but maybe Amazon sells the same thing all over. It’s called Uchida DCR-300-C Marvy Deco Color Paint Chisel tip Marker Remover. I have a couple and they work really well to remove those little mistakes we Make with our gilding pens. I hope you are able to get one. It doesn’t hurt the resin if you wipe it off quickly.

I just ordered some of these foils from SoulXCellar last week! I should get them soon and I'm excited to work with them.
Artsy Madwoman has worked with these foils before and she managed to figure out how to make the clear cellophane disappear into the resin so you don't need to cut around them. I forget how she did it. 🤔 Maybe she laid down a clear later first and did another clear one behind it. I can't recall if she put a black background or not. She did some trays.

I would love for you to fill your molds halfway with an interference mica in the resin and maybe an incredibly small amount of color like soft blue or a purple tone and place the holographic cut out and top it the same way so it would look like it was floating in the middle and then once side would be the black outline/shadow and the other side would be holographic.

Since you make molds do you think you can come up with a design for coasters that has a juice gutter like you find on cutting boards -- to catch any liquid coming off the glass. I live in an extremely humid area and my glasses sweat like crazy. The water rolls off the top of the coaster and damages my furniture... what do you think?

I was prepared to drill a hole in these embedded picture disks I made that was still soft...bendy...I stuck a hole with a needle loaded with yarn. I was gonna use it anyway as a Christmas ornament...2 days later...hard and rigid! I had watched your vid where you made a plate...forgot that you were making a bowl and came back and formed it. That's when I realized ..."hey...I can still do stuff with it" and now it's amazing. Thank you for that! Also...how do you know how much to measure when starting?
