I loved how you got the focus of the crowd by tossing lacrosse balls at them while you spoke. Such an underrated and super important part of coaching. Making sure you have their undivided attention before you speak, because you might be giving them the best coaching talk in the world, but it doesn't have any effect unless they are listening.
Paul your the only athlete I've ever looked up to. I love lacrosse. I've played for 8 years and I know that lacrosse isn't as big as football in the majors, but you make lax so much better. Everyone All ways talks about foot ball and all the other sports. Wile I'm talking about lacrosse. 😂I am looking into going go one of you camps.
Paul, I’ve played lacrosse for about 20 of my 37yrs of life. From youth to JuCo and then the All Marine team & now the Md police & Fire team. I wish i was as talented and driven as you are. What you are doing for the sport and for these young players is nothing short of admirable. You really are a class act sir! Truly top notch! Keep doing it pal!!!! Thank you!!
Hey Paul I really enjoyed this longer video. Hopefully u can do more longer vids in the future. I was watching this video while I shot around so it really helped me.
Hey paul i just wanted to let you know that you are my inspiration i have ben watching you sense I started to play and you wer the person who got me in to LAX and now i play four to travel team all because you inspired me thank you. You mean so much to me
Saw you in the dude perfect video. Never played lacrosse, was never even interested in lacrosse, grew up living breathing soccer... but your energy, your advice, your willingness to help others be the best is very inspiring. The passion for what you do is incredible. The kids that learn from you are lucky and posting your knowledge online for all to see is awesome
That's a great way to look at it. Practice is for team planning and strategy and cohesiveness not getting better fundamentally. Now young teams obviously its both. But you get better and progress on your own time. I had coaches that were strict on what I could and could not do in all sports, and after awhile I showed I could do certain things. A whole summer I trained on basketball skills, dribbling, shooting, speed and it showed. I was a strong forward/center and proved to be an outside forward that could drive and was a ball handler instead of just a rebounder. Practice makes permanent. Start slow and get it perfect slowly and progress from their.
Paul: I just saw your March LaxCon video. Really enjoyed it! I highly recommend that you contact Mr. Thomas House who I met many years ago when he was the Pitching Coach for the San Diego Padres and a part of the San Diego School of Baseball. He was (and still is) a visionary in the baseball world, and I believe that the "theory" you discussed in the video is very similar to what Mr. House discussed in 1983 when talking about the art and science of pitching. What I specifically remember him discussing was the overhand pitch versus the sidearm pitch. The shoulder position is the same in both instances: overhand, the shoulders are parallel to the ground and sidearm they are vertical to the ground (as best I can remember as that was 35 years ago). The throwing techniques are the same. ...Bottom line is that I really think that you need to have a conversation with Mr. House about comparing pitching and what he knows to LAX and what you know. I believe that this discussion will lead to some very interesting discoveries.
Awesome video Paul. I'm a high school assistant coach and with the season starting in 8 days, I'm going to use some of your work in my offensive drills. Thanks for being so active and getting lacrosse out there for everyone!
You motivate me to get up every day and go to practice and work for lax and I’m not good but I still try bec I can go home and watch your videos and see how you became the best lax player in the world
Thank you so much I have always hated the fact that my shot was never hard even after years of practice, but that was because I was just shooting not focusing on the mechanics. So thank you for this video it has tremendously helped me out
Nice video Paul... but could explain arm distance and elbow angles. You explain wrist and shoulder action. But a lot of younger players have their elbows down, the stick is to far or to close from their bodies...great job...
You are amazing and my birthday is on March18 and I would really like you to send me something I also sent you a letter a while ago and you are probably going to say. I am also playing lacrosse for the first time this year and in the summer I would always practice and watch your videos you helped me out a lot.
Paul, have you moved your butt end down over time as you have gotten stronger from highschool to pro? It seems like a lot of kids are tripped up by the typical shaft length when they're young and do better with the but end taped higher up at least when they're younger.
Hey Paul, I’m a new player to lacrosse and I don’t know a whole lot about the sport, (other than basic rules). I have been having issues with passing and shooting. For me, I always seem to either spike the ball to the ground, send it towards the ceiling, or make a decent leveled pass that just doesn’t have any distance. My teammates and coach tell me to follow through, but if I do that, I just spike it again. Do you have any tips for me on how to improve this aspect of my game?
Your pocket probably hooks, roll a lacrosse ball through it by hand, if it catches then just tighten the bottom string (the one closest to the shaft) and see if that helps.
Hey Paul could you give me some lax advice. This is my first year playing, but it’s on a team with player who have been play for their whole lives or for years. My coaches and my teammates have a high expectation for me because of all the other players. If you could give me some advice that would be awesome 😁
Do you have any tips for practicing in the winter? i was just practicing dodging and shooting. i was outside the entire week and my backyard iced over last night, so i was slipping. Any tips on preventing this?
You Got Beaned get a swax lax ball and always have ur stick by u in the house. Carry it everywhere in ur stick and practice ball controls and moves etc
Hi Paul I sure to watch your channel everyday for drills technique and just pure fun but a couple months ago I got annoyed because you started doing giveaways and to my knowledge didn’t announce the winners so I stopped watching I feel like it’s time to make up and what does a friend do to make up with another friend? Give him a snazzy warp so what do you say Paul is it time to let bygones be bygones? #askpaul #beafreind

This is the single most useful video for a lacrosse player.

Paul, have you moved your butt end down over time as you have gotten stronger from highschool to pro? It seems like a lot of kids are tripped up by the typical shaft length when they're young and do better with the but end taped higher up at least when they're younger.
When winding up for a shit do you guys use your bottom hand or top hand ?
#askpaul would you come to Jamaica in July to teach us LAX at camp

Focus on keeping your top hand back and releasing right when the stick is even with your head

Get ice skates, pretend your playing indoor lacrosse but with a hockey twist. Bro that’ll make it super fun. Even though it likely won’t work.
