Holy Idle this was such a gift!!! Thank you Mr. Bob. A treasure to hear the genius of such a one of kind soul. Wow. I pray he will still create. Any possibility of him performing somewhere? Spamalot a film ...maybe ? Thank you so very much. Great job Bob Saget !
Love all interviews with Eric Idle. This one did not disappoint Bob, thoroughly enjoy every minute of this one. He's an individual with a great fountain of stories from an incredible life story - just love it! Thanks Bob. Be well and stay safe.
Wow! Bob, you were amazing and I saw how you were in awe of Mr. Idle. Mr. Idle was brilliant, witty, charming, sharp and amazingly down-to-earth. I felt like I was sitting across from you two in a chair in the same room and was humbled by Mr. Idle and his telling of his amazing experiences. Thank you Bob. And, Thank You Mr. Idle. Love you both!
I not only got to Spamalot when it opened in Chicago but I got to meet Eric just before the show started. My friend showed me Grail and I was hooked. Thank you for having on such an amazing icon
Quickly let me say I love this interview so much. When Eric said he sat with and got to know Chevy, I then realized that must have been in the 1st season of SNL. Chevy left after season 1, being replaced by Bill Murray.
I just ran across this interview. Honestly, I had no idea that Bob had a podcast. I shouldn't be surprised as everyone seemed to create a podcast around the time of Covid, therefore I never went looking for Bob. Watching this video really hits hard. Eric talking about the (then) recent passings of Terry Jones, Robin Williams, George Harrison and Bob mentioning his sister.... Then the song at the end. Two of the funniest men on the planet talking about life and death. Bob was taken way too soon.
What a fantastic interview! So much brilliance in one room. One… plain white room in need of a little decor… but I digress… I absolutely loved the stories and anecdotes, the genuine heartfelt philosophical segues, it was all so lovely. (With the exception of the plain white walls of course. Buy some paint Bob.)
I got to MEET that great man in the Hull Quebec casino around Y2K, just 2 minutes across from Ottawa Ontario, where I was born and returned at age 14. He did endless classic Monty Python skits, but with just enough more recent songs he's written since to make me one of countless fans delighted to buy his latest CD. I have long since lost it, and have never been able to find the one which inspired me to buy his CD, but I just remember the chorus; "Owr god's betta than YORE god Owr gurls ave MOOCH bigga tits, Owr god's betta than YORE god, Yore a NAY-shun of SHITS!" After an endless show, followed by what felt like at least as much "Whoah ye luvley Canucks've all worn me ROIT out, I reckon that musta bin me last encore... Oh, foin then..." ^Strummm...* he finally handed his guitar off to one of his backup singer/dancers and as she left the stage with it he announced he would be remaining onstage just long enough for all of his CDs to be signed! Well, as polite Canadians of course not even one fan tried rushing him; we all gathered in less than a line, more flexible groups of happy fans glad to express their favourite bits. When my turn finally came, I got a genuine delighted guffaw as I gave my regular answer when he took my copy and politely asked for "Juss yer fust name, luv." Well, since I was 7 or 8 I have always said "I was named Jennifer, but I go by just Jen, And I don't blame my parents for this, but ever since I was old enough to get the joke of that with my middle name I've added a third, so my full name is Jennifer Lorraine AndDon'tYouDARECallMeJLo." Still grinning, he handed it back to me; I saw later he had indeed signed it to "Just Jen" but I had more to thank him for than just that. "I must thank you, not just for this, but for allowing me to see live my whole family's favourite Python act of all time! Y'see (I reverted to the accent I had been glad to have as my parents were English as a Second Language teachers and I had grown up in enough British schools to return for grade 10 after years of an English accent, never enough to fool a Brit or their descendants, but at least good enough not to be mistaken for American) me stepda still LOOVES ta remnisk 'bout tha LUXshurry ov'is choildood ome, not JUSSa cadboad box. but t'was inna OLE int' groun too!" He burst into a delighted HOLLER; "Wot, 'e's a YORKIE! Me da wus one too!" then looking around at the hundreds of curious pairs of eyes fixed upon us while the whole casino had muted, he threw his arms wide. A hug? Yes please, eh? So I took just 1 step toward him, but it was his turn to surprise me. He gently rested his palms on my shoulders, and with a very melodramatic look all around at our audience, he pulled me right up AGAINST him. I still wish I had dared to mutter my next thoughts to him aloud; quoting them all back to him might have made his night. "Oi Eric me luv, wot's all THIS then? Recon ME fer a goer, does ye not? Nudge, nudge, wink wink, say no MOAR!" But he just leaned his head right next to mine, brushing my long hair back off a cheek *Ohh SWOON a peck on my cheek?* and murmured into my ear "Roit BASTADS, arrr they not?"
I send my sympathies to Saget’s family but, quite frankly, I’ve never found him the least bit funny. Eric Idle is in a completely different league comedy-wise.
For the Grail battle scene...why would they battle for a thing that wasn't there? I guess wars are prone to start with a lie as films are prone to stop with the money.

What a great interview, and what a prescient ending. The world has yet to discover what we lost with Bob's passing. Less than 10k views.
Such a gift to have these videos! RIP Bob. For those finding this for the first time, listen to the very end.
Made me tear up... I just finished the video.
I was watching this for about 12 minutes before I realised Bob died recently. What a shock. He looks so well here. Great interview mixed with sadness.
The song at the end really hits different now :(
Have you seen Eric in a tutu performing this at Prince Charles' sixtieth birthday?
'We Are Much Amused'...

Eric Idle is such a treasure. What a wonderful comedian and really what an intelligent and hilarious man.
Saget and all the python guys are solely responsible for my interest in theater, comedy and acting!! Thank you to all of you!!
That's an odd gamut.
I not only got to Spamalot when it opened in Chicago but I got to meet Eric just before the show started. My friend showed me Grail and I was hooked. Thank you for having on such an amazing icon
RIP Bob Saget 1956-2022 and God bless youin heaven.
That song at the end got me, because who would have thought that Eric would have outlived Bob. Life is short, and not fair.
Bob saget and Eric idle👍both comical geniuses. I can see the chemistry 👍❤ great episode
RIP Bob. You were amazing.
just rewatched Life of Brian ....thanks for this....shout out from South Africa
Bob truly is/was a uniquely special and loving man
It being Thanksgiving, I give you thanks for you Mr. Saget

He hosted the show more than once. Michael Palin hosted it too.
I love you, Bob.
Great interview. He posted something on twitter last year, I commented on it, and Eric replied to me, that made my day.❤

I didn't know that Eric Idle was ever in boarding schools as a young child. Learn something new about someone's life, that I didn't know.
So wonderful to see and hear you two catching up and reminiscing ❤️
An absolute icon. A legend!
Eric's cool too! 😁
Great interview Bob. RIP.
What an Amazing Episode!!!
Very Cool.
RIP Saget
When Eric turns right to look at Bob he looks like Alan Partridge. That aside, lovely stuff.
Yep, I see it! He he he
The Great Favog was something I hoped to see each week the saturday night program aired. The voice actors were perfect.
gem 💎 . . Thank you, Bob .. RIP
oh my god, it's been while i haven't see him. lord, I've missed all the Pythons already 🥺
Great episode Bob. This was great to watch.
Eric is great all the time!!
Love your channel bob
The fact that this has been on for 23hrs and has less than 1000 views is a travesty

A great episode.
Love you bob and eric
Eric is an icon 😎
And other great episode I enjoy a lot listening in the podcast but I enjoy more watching in video great bob 😀👍
I am a big fan of the Monty Python famous sketches and all the movies just a bunch if witty funny guys. Also Omaha steaks are quite good.
How come the guitar outro reminds me of Helpless by Faith No More?
Awesome interview. What happened to your shoelaces Bob?
i have always thought the line "i'm brian and so is my wife" nust have come from eric.
Oof.. that song at the end hurt a little bit. 😬 RIP Bob
Idol also writes science fiction
I hope Eric Idle lives long enough to sing that at 100 funerals.
Is that Old Guy's second name Loretta?
The volume is too low for my shitty phone.
I don’t know how people are saying this was a great interview. Bob was ”I knew that but I forgot” too many times for one interview.
Can we be friends bob?
I send my sympathies to Saget’s family but, quite frankly, I’ve never found him the least bit funny. Eric Idle is in a completely different league comedy-wise.
Funny, intelligent persons having really boring conversations, the whole pod - except Gilbert....
For the Grail battle scene...why would they battle for a thing that wasn't there? I guess wars are prone to start with a lie as films are prone to stop with the money.
Very sketchy death. For Saget. Speaking of deaths, Life of Brian is most likely why Harrison is dead.
Eric idle looks awful I’m sorry Bob saget died. Would like to know who killed him
Eric recently had coronary bypass surgery. Still sharp as a tack.
