I love the ways his voice cracks when he tries to hit the high notes and how utterly embraced it is.
I believe he wrote this song specifically to be out of his vocal range (both high and low)
@@ZakStratton I don't think he wrote this
No he did not write this one. However it’s original writers and performers are sitting in playing the song with him right there! They are called the Meat Puppets. Kirk and his brother Chris Kirkwood. You can tell Nirvana holds them in hi regard. They covered at least 3 of their songs. I’ve loved them like family since first seeing them in the mid 1980,s. They are great guys to talk with, learn from and hang out with. I implore you to look into their music, it’s wonderful!!! Up On The Sun, MeatPuppets ll and Too High to Die, are 3 of my all time favorite Albums.
Cabrones... solo fingía
the original’s vocals were also so high that the singer of the meat puppets could barely hit it
It’s amazing how he had such a hard time hitting some of these notes here, but in the actual show he hit every note perfectly.
Solo fingía...obviamente
its funny he was smoking....sigs..... he had the voise the whole tyme....
That is that "extra something" that the crowd and "the real thing" give you ;)
Probably because he's high? And smoking so result will vary. I remember being a fan after a friend turned me onto them and no doubt. Watching these videos now though, I can't help but to notice things I didn't as a kid- he is so depressed and it's just a strangeness here. Still loved Nirvana
@@CJ-dg3bm nah he was high in the actual performance (and smoking). Heroin addicts don’t take days off to perform.
4:20
Kurt: “Scuse me, can someone light that candle over there?”
Dave: “My flowers have been knocked over. Could we have someone set them back up?”
PURE MOMENT AWEE!
Such cool dudes.
"pure moment"? Dave is just an asshole... rather a "rude moment"
@@oeszter222 Dave and Chris had had enough by then. They told it true on tv, in magazines etc,
@@oeszter222 Kurt was the asshole. Total control freak.
@@GrimKage Yeah, Kurt wasn’t perfect, but here it was just a joke, Dave’s reaction to that was simply humiliating and mocking.
Nirvana is the best Kurt was the reason I learned guitar
ricky pasket official same for me haha😅
@@user-qz1hq9kq3x his tone was amazing , he did things to a guitar I never heard before
Same man
Me too kk
Ricky packet official Dave is the reason I learnt drums but Kurt was amazing
I think I speak for alot of nirvana fans when I say we miss you Kurt there is just something about him that we find so fascinating and cool. By far the coolest rockstar to walk the planet. Thanks for the memories Kurt
He is considered the coolest because he was different. He wasnt the typical tight pant wearing, womanizing fuckface. He actually stood for something and was more than some partying, drug abusing, woman user. He did drugs of course but for different reasons than parties
@@westonwheeler2311 I agree with you 100% I follow a youtuber by the name AmericanSpyFox he has recently done videos on KC and he posted a video the true reason about the feud between GNR and Nirvana you should check it out if you haven't be pretty much says everything you did how kurt wasnt like them and what they "stood for " . Rose actually wore a Nirvana hat in a late 80s or very early 90s magazine cover because he actually liked the music and reached out to kurt and he pretty much told him to F off. I was born in 88 and I wish I was old enough to experience Nirvana when kurt was alive what a awesome experience that must have been
@@evanwallace4510 I saw the video too. I already kinda knew the reason Kurt hated axl was because Kurt was a proud feminist and Axl was a proud tool.
@@westonwheeler2311 that's cool you've seen the same video. I have seen almost every documentary/video on KC and Nirvana and have read alot of things but I could never find anything with the real reason why GNR and Nirvana clashed until just recently. Axl will always be a huge tool it's one of many reasons I hate GNR. Have you seen Soaked in Bleach and Montage of Heck?
@@westonwheeler2311 it's such a shame that Frances ex has his unplugged guitar I know she gifted it to him because that's the one guitar he wanted but Kurt had so many other guitars she should of given him a different one
Kurt's really loving the music at 3:25
He looked stoned
Cole Duffee yeah... looks...
he was on valium
He was going through heroin withdrawals, but he was calmed because of the valium he'd taken.
heroin
3:48. Classic 90s cup right there.
Something i love about kurt was his taste in music. Without him i would not have found some of my favorite artists.

wow
Well if you think about it, this is actually a very rare moment for him
That falsetto is really something. Kurt could sing beautifully and he didn't even trained professionally.
didn't have the time for that...at the last time he was planing to make somthing with REM vocalist....RIP KC
I had no idea he could sing falsetto like this (and with such a unique tone to it), the note at 2:08 is really beautiful. I really can't believe how extraordinarily gifted he was. It's awe-inspiring and also a little scary to think about.
When it gets into the instrumental part of this rehearsal and Kurt smiles I like to think he’s thinking, fucking my band is incredible!
This is easily my favorite song on this album. He had such an amazing voice.
I still have a place in my heart for great grunge....and I’m a punk guy, but I was actually listening to Nevermind yesterday and TRULY listening to every aspect of it. The lyrics, song writing and structures, the actual production quality....an AMAZING record. Butch Vig is an amazing producer.
Nirvana is a punk band.
But Nirvana IS PUNK! The main influence in Cobain music is Melvins and all the local punk scene.
The production quality of nevermind is as good as it gets. Perfection
@@guillhermio.merencio4273 besides their music is grunge music is that Kurt and his band were influenced punk bands like Husker Du and the Wipers.
The least punk thing is to care about what is and isn't punk, all this linedrawing is better left to corpos and posers. All that matters is that the sound is good. Everything else is second. Punk went from one of the most expressive and wild genres to one of the most gatekept and strictly policed genres with approved politics and standardisation. Punks killed punk.

For those who play drums know how difficult and beautiful it is for Dave to beat as softly as he can... ♥
the fact he was struggling with the chorus in this song and cracking his voice but then still goes on to do it in the show and nails it is just unreal. no one like kurt❤️
Apparently they were so seriously worried that Kurt would fluff the whole show, they wanted to cancel it. Come the night and he aced it. Total professional.

one of the best live performances i’ve ever seen

You got that right!!!
Kurt, forever in our hearts...❤️🎸

The look of annoyance on Kurt’s face while Dave is playing the funky beat is priceless
I don’t think there’s another band who’s ever captured an audiences attention so well. Not just this song, or even this performance. All there is when they perform is Nirvana. No outside world. It’s perfect.
Sometimes it's difficult for me to believe that this man even walked the earth. His legacy will forever live on
At 3:00 the girl in the front and Pat behind completely sum up everyone's feelings about Kurt with a simple look.
Kurt,Always alive in our hearts
We love you❤
That smile on Kurt's face when the guitar player of Meat Puppets starts playing the outro @3:26. It is beautiful, i think Kurt felt it. His eyes light up and he was really happy in that moment
why am i smiling with tears in my eyes at 3.28.....i love this guy sooo much,,,
Kurt as so nervous man! But he pulled it off! Just remember how bad he felt here
Hits those notes so effortlessly, one in a million.
lol "effortlessly"
He was such a beautiful person inside and out. I wish he was still here. I always wonder what his music would be like now. I bet he would have made some cool songs with his daughter. I always loved his lyrics.
3:27 this Part and this Song make kurt looks so energicfull
Why do so many fans treat his estate and family so badly? It’s an act of love to release these deep cuts. Unplugged showed the best of Nirvana and all these cameos. THANK YOU for sharing these with the world on UA-cam.
I was drumming already in these times and wished I could find guys that played music like this.
The difficulties of finding musicians that had grit to stick it out is next to impossible I never had the luck.
But 38 years later I can still do it.
Music never leaves you. You leave it.
And when your ready to go back it will always be there with open arms like you never left!!
Love the 90s🤟🏽
the hint allen wrench! make hint! me and him have a luv match😂😂
Whatever Kurt touched he turned it into magic.
I love all the Nirvana Songs but they also did really, really awsome covers! Honestly I like the three MeetPuppets songs more when Kurt sings them. (same with Molly's Lips, Where did you sleep last night, The man who sold the world,...)
I can't even explain it but I guess many Nirvana fans feel the same about him and his special ability of making music
Lyrics✨
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau
Some belong to strangers, and some to folks you know
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand
To beautify the foothills, and shake the many hands
Nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words
When you've finished with the mop, then you can stop
And look at what you've done
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen
And the work, it was fun
Nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words
Many hands began to scan around for the next plateau
Some said it was Greenland, and some say Mexico
Others decided it was nowhere except for where they stood
But those were all just guesses
Wouldn't help you if they could
I've always loved the end part of this song starting at around 3:26
And so does Kurt! Just look at his face, its so nice and unusual to see him that happy
It’s beautiful
Your whole life flashes in front of you
The original version shook my soul
FORTALEZA BRAZIL..love nirvana
iv had this on my playlist for yrs & iv only just 'Really' watched it. I see a broken shell kinda hopelessness in Kurt here. It hurts.

Meat Puppets were great on this / Great song choices by Kurt. You can see how nervous he was here; the dudes behind him were solid. It was a brilliant set overall. I remember much music in Canada was always playing videos from this show right before he died.
Then, after his suicide; they kept playing it even more. Kurt died when he was just about to peak into something else. Any addicts out there? Get help. The shit always progresses; and addictions are demons that want you dead.
