    I had one about 2000. We used it to maintain our transmission towers on top of the mountains. We added the Super Tracks and it did well in most snowy conditions. Once in a while we would get 5’ of Sierra Cement snow and it had a tough time when it was that deep. We had to wait til it crusted over. It’s a nice tool and a bunch of fun. It can go a few places the quads can’t. Hope it is exactly what you need. Oh, and it can carry a nice payload too.

    We had a 6x6 yrs ago. It had its uses, but lack of ground clearance is definitely a limiting factor.
    They do pretty well in swampy situations and water crossings, other than that, our SxS does better in general usage.
    And tires are much cheaper.

    • @cb6384
      @cb6384 Рік тому

      The newer models have better ground clearance (mine is a 2021), but I agree that ground clearance could still be more. With a pond, a marsh, steep hills in a bush that I cut wood from, and a spot to go tobogganing, I can honestly say that my Argo has replaced my quad, snowmobile (with tracks) and boat. It doesn’t do anything particularly well, but it does do it all. For me, this is kind of an all in one machine. After my cousin drove mine, he told me he was going to sell his ATV, and dirt bike, so that he could bring his wife and kids along. These are truly amazing machines

    When I was young back in the 60s we had an Allis Chamleers Terra Tiger. It was broke down more than it ran. Small stumps will bust holes in the bottom,turning around like you did in video and sticks would puncture tires . Got stuck on a chunk of ice on river once and bent some shafts. It had an 16-18 hp single cylinder engine which was inadequate to pull the load.. Chain maintenance and wheel bearings,seals were a nightmare. I’m sure in 60 plus years these toys are much improved on. Good Luck when you exit rivers as you can’t see bottom that could damage your hauls. On the river we had paddles we strapped onto wheels and got a whooping 4 mph at best. Ha🤣🤣

      Those things are super cool, but yes, very unreliable. This thing has a Super thick hull design and a think plastic skid plate over it, I have bounced it off rocks in the water, stumps on the trail, loads of things and it barely leaves a mark. They have definitely upgraded things over the years. still slow in the water, but its not actually a boat, so you get used to it lol

    These are expensive toys but they are excellent machines for what they are designed to do. So are SxSs and ATVs. Just like buying a car, expect to add another 25%± of the MSRP to cover shipping ($1200± factory to dealer, then $1200± dealer to you) along with dealer prep and add-ons and taxes depending upon where you live and how far from the dealer you live. Identify and separate your wants vs your needs. Save up and pay cash for your wants, finance your needs if you can't pay cash.

      Don’t pay shipping twice. Be careful with that. PDI maybe after the factory shipping to the dealer. Unless the dealer is delivering it to your residence and there’s a fair distance involved, $1200 bucks?? It’s a racket. Be careful with your money. I can get a car delivered in an enclosed car trailer half the length of the province of Alberta (480 miles) for $500 Canadian!! Or use your own trailer to pick it up!!

    I am glad to see a Canadian video, or at least given it measures in km, I hope this is a Canadian video. I am a senior with mobility problems, and was hoping that an Argo would help me get back an forth to my home. No one likes to walk on water, which for the moment is why I have no landline. I was happy to see your demo. I have been told however that is they don't do well on dry payment, and unless you want to keep replacing your wheel bearings, to avoid running it on dry payment. What r your thoughts on this?

      Thank you for watching!! I am from Wingham Ontario. If you are close, feel free to come by and test it out! I find in high gear it is a bit of a struggle to turn in pavement. But the newer Argo’s have what they call a banana frame, so the front and rear tires are lifted up a wee bit. Makes it a bit easier to steer on pavement. Higher speeds help as well, or if their is a shower of gravel on the road.

      Ive seen ome offroad 4 or 3 wheeled scooters that someone built whos brother was paralyzed and they go up mountains and everything. They guy who was using it drove it off a boat onto a rocky shore drove over boulders all kinds of stuff. And it was really lightweight but with some real good ground clearance. I dont recall the name of them but keep looking cause there are some amazing things out there now. I think it was 2 wheels in the back 1 upfront but it kind of sat u down in it like a cradle with a low center of gravity to keep from tipping.
