The funniest DJ of all time, absolutely brilliant…..the Greaseman could brighten up any day, in Baltimore we all tuned into the wildest wild man there ever was…..hobble do gee…!!!!!
I know a guy in Jefferson, Maryland that has a BUNCH of cassette tapes of The Greaseman's shows. He was such a fan he went to live shows to see him and tape him.
Im a Person of Color also. Grease made jokes about everyone. He's the best. And Howard Stern couldn't touch The Greaseman, that's why Stern went political.
He really wasn't racist at all, I remember the time he was playing that Barry White song for his bit ( My first, my last, my everything) said "I wonder what Barry White is doing these days " and Barry called in and they talked for a while.
First time I ever heard this guy he was doing a west virginia bit. When I heard the squealing pigs I almost put my car through a telephone pole I was laughing so hard, no bullshit. Had to slam on the brakes. I was laughing hysterically and damn near crapped myself at the same time. T Bone, I agree wholeheartedly. This cat was the only one who could make the DC area tolerable in the morning.
I was a Quantico Marine in 82 and 83 and listened to The Grease in my little office at The Basic School every morning. He even came down a couple times to hang out and watch us do FPF's and got to talk a little military with him. A great dude and man he made my time at Quantico the very best. Laughed till it hurt every morning listening to the all time greatest, "The Greaseman"!!. Thank you Doug!!! Semper Fi!!! BTW, I'm a WVB myself and still love listening to the Grease make fun of the hillbillies...all in fun!
Grease was and still is an amazing talent, who can create a "bit" on any subject on the spot!! I believe he's the greatest radio entertainment ever. We ALL loved him on DC101 in Washington, D.C. back in the early 80's. His off the wall humor still lives with us all, and it always will! He is the greatest of the great.
Grease was at his best back at DC101. Many mornings I nearly had an accident while driving to work because I was laughing so hard. The undisputed master of theater of the mind. Not sure what he's up to these days. Maybe he's out on the Bay on the Good Ship Grease, machine-gunning protected species and trashing sailboats with his wake. AMF!
I'm a WV boy, WV born, WV raised. Lived in D.C. thru the mid 80's and beyond, and faithfully listened to The Greaseman Show on DC101. Two times I got fed up enough with Grease that I confronted him on the phone on air, and each time he layed off the WV jokes for a couple months, but it was more than he could resist. Grease was the funniest comedian found on the media (TV or radio) and should now be a host of a late night show. My suggestion is, settle the contract with Jimmy Fallen and bring on the real talent: Grease Minnelli. GREASE COOKS! Alex Stern is hogwash ( the H20 gleanings of a piggy wash) compared to The Grease.
Best SOB on the Air ever. Listened to him every morning leaving the motel in Waldorf to the job sites over the years. Knew it was a bad day when he did his joke about dragging 5 more and the air went dead not long after. Still to this I'm trying to find his The Guess Who parody-Inflatable Women.
grease was the best at what he did I care not what anyone thinks otherwise and I am a person of color he took me to work each day with a smile and thats why I will always be thankful luvubrother
You had to be there, if you lived in the DC/VA/MD area he made it tolerable for us in the mornings. DC is a depressing place, add traffic and 40+ mile drive to work, stop and go through the district, we needed him. Howard was not as good, I stopped listening to DC 101 once Howard came along. I like Howard but The Greaseman was the best.
It was also the times. I never considered his vulgarity to be the case of vulgarity for vulgarity's sake. As far as I know, there had never been anything like his content on major radio. His content seemed to target a generation of men who were in rebellion against the pro-feminist "sensitive seventies" that was being shoved down their throats by the culture industry. His smack across their collective faces with skits that challenged that programing and the censors at the same time was addictive.
i got to be on one of his live friday group shows and we had a blast! he did the "avacado sized doodads" bit with a girl from the group and we all were crying laughing! one of my fondest memories growing up in the DC area.
WV Girl; Daddy Daddy, Can I use the truck??? WV Daddy whipps it out, You know what to do if ya wanna use the truck.... Oh allright. She goes down on it says OMG it tatests like shit! Oh yea. I forgot to tell you, Youre brother is useing the truck.....
I'm the one who got the Grease started on the West Virginia bits. He was at Bradlick Shopping center at Kemp Mill Records signing autographs. I though he looked kind of Lanky, not muscle bound. So I opened the door and yelled GUH GUH GOOBER. The whole line turned around and he looked up all surprised.
The godfather of gut-busters, the Mel Blanc of radio, the many faces, and places of Nino Greasemanelli! Every one of them more hilarious than the last. His only fault was he was morning drive. UGH! ******WARNING: DO NOT listen to this man on the radio while driving, operating heavy machinery, or handling explosives. ******** Grease... you are sorely missed in a time when we all could use a laugh. Like HE used to say in oooooollllllleeeeee Mexico..... AMF!!!!
One of the last great radio personalities of our time.
The funniest DJ of all time, absolutely brilliant…..the Greaseman could brighten up any day, in Baltimore we all tuned into the wildest wild man there ever was…..hobble do gee…!!!!!

Absolutely, the Greasman made mornings better. He always made us laugh, I miss him so.
The BEST. The only thing that made DC livable.
I agree. He was the only one who kept me from wanting to strangle people on I-95 in the morning because I was laughing too damn much.
I was a Quantico Marine in 82 and 83 and listened to The Grease in my little office at The Basic School every morning. He even came down a couple times to hang out and watch us do FPF's and got to talk a little military with him. A great dude and man he made my time at Quantico the very best. Grease man ONE OF A KIND!!
I had to drive carefully when listening to Grease! I would laugh so hard I almost wrecked.

Listened to him 1990-1999. Met him in 91 and 2007. Very nice guy. Probably the most creative Boss Jock ever.
AMF!
Or maybe he's climbing that Texas tower with a rifle like he always threatened..
Greaseman help me with my 2 hr drive for 20 miles when I lived in DC 1985 1988 His roman stuff was so funny
Can you imagine the Greaseman broadcasting in Southeast Asia on AFRN. Dayum!!
Miss listening to the greaseman! Someone put him back on the air!
Funniest radio DJ ever... Only one that comes close is the robing Williams in Good morning Vietnam, and that was a movie...
I'm a West Virginia guy and I find this funny as shit see if you can't laugh at yourself and you're not laughing you're not living
West Virginia's good enough for me!
I used to listen to him while I was in Virginia. The Best!

The Greasman was The Best, those were great days on DC 101. My favorite was his song about Tom, Dick & Harry.

People commuting would listen to pass the time.

He is good at what he does, but honestly I just don't find him funny. Kinda annoying actually. Great voice though.
Stills funny!
I'm a WV boy, WV born, WV raised. STERN RULES! BABABOEY!
Dwane Muncy boring boring boring
Dwane Muncy The Greaseman had more talent in his little finger than Howard has in his whole body. It isn't even close.
Listening further, I think the Jeff he mentions is me! Listen and laugh! Love ya Grease!
I’m Jeff too! When I heard him say my name in the bit, I started to sweat...”uh oh, where is this going.....”
Da Grease for VP 2024!!!!!!!
