Several things that I really like about this first episode: 1. The plot: While it is only the first episode, it done a very good job at giving us enough details to give us the overall setting but still have enough mysteries to get us excited for new episodes. I love how the Dark Treat (“Dark Candy” in the subtitle you guys react to) is treated as a sort of addictive substances and there is a community/channel/market hidden away from the human society that sells and buys these products. 2. Characters and acting: One common problem with some of the shows in the Reiwa era is that the actor who portrays the protagonist is young and therefore their acting can be unnatural or too over-the-top. This doesn’t seem to be the issue for Gavv. So far, all the characters are portrayed beautifully. The protagonist Shouma himself is very likable. Giving flashbacks of his past is also a plus since it helps us understand why he is acting like that. 3. Rider’s and villains’ power: This episode faithfully conveys a recurring theme within the franchise: Kamen Riders share the same origin with evil. Shouma’s Gavv is his transformation device. What interesting is how there is actually no belt around his waist when he is in his human form, unlike most other transformation belt throughout the franchise. Not only does it make the belt more organic (the belt is literally his organ), it also ties to the theme of the franchise. When the monster transforms from his human form, we can see him pull something out of his Gavv. It is literally the same gimmick as our hero except his monster form is his true form and the thing that he pulls out is to help him transforms into a human disguise. 4. Action and special effects: The action is amazing. There are certain creativities to the fight scene. Suit actors do not feel sluggish at all. Special effects are acceptable. Chroma keying is still a recurring issue within Toei’s shows and movies but the rest do not feel bad at all. 5. Music: BGMs are very good. Different scenes and moments have suitable music accompanied with them. I especially love the opening theme of this episode “Got Boost?” by FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE. (It’s the ending theme for this first episode.) For the reaction, I think it’s okay. You guys cut out some of the money shots of this episode which is a bummer. I assume it has something to do with copyright and whatnot.
13:31 actually, Showma’s mom’s warning about not eating the candy is regarding the dark treats, the Granute world candy, not the ones on Earth. For better clarification.
a very important note, Shouma's resolve to fight as a hero even though he'd be seen as a monster by everyone is EXTREMELY Kamen rider. it goes all the way back to the original '73 series' idea of a being built for evil going against that and fighting for humanity
I've been loving Gavv's two episodes so far, and I'm excited to see where they're gonna go from here! LOVE the action/camerawork they did with that one shot at the shipping containers with Gavv upside-down. Hope we get more creative action shots like that in the future.
The first episode is a rollercoaster of emotions, a good one for that matter. With all the mystery in this show, the reactions are going to be amazing, but i'll wait for you guys to caught up with the show to avoid any spoilers (Even tough is only 3 episodes lol)
fun fact for u guys by the time this aired they were already half way done filming the show word got out they started back in March. So for Toei keep this quiet for that long speaks volumes to how much they want this to go well after what happen to Gotchard.
The story setup is really cool and I love the uniqueness of the food gimmick regenerating his armor. Also the production and cgi is probably going to be better overall since it was filmed more in advance.
Anybody notice the Kamen Rider Agito reference at the start of the episode? When fhe boy found Shouma on the beach, it's the same shot when Shoichi is found on the beach in KR Agito opening
「Gavv」derived from onomatopoeia means "bite" New form in next episode, named 「Zaku‐zaku Chips」, Twin sword fighter. And,「Zaku‐zaku」means "cranky". Others, chocolate form &marshmallow from announced.
3:19 Neat fact the actor for the human disguise and voice of the Hound Granute is the same actor who was the human identity of the cockroach dopant from W
Nice to see you reacting to the gummy man who fell to Earth! His name is Shoma Stomach as revealed in the credits (Japanese wordplay/ dad pun for Shoma Stomach: “Show my Stomach”) This show will be running alongside Boonboomger on the Super Hero Time block as well as alongside Boonboomger’s eventual successor, which will celebrate Super Sentai’s 50th anniversary starting on April 5, 2025.
So I've seen two episodes by the time of this comment, so far I'm cautiously optimistic. As I've always said, some of the most engaging, story-driven plots in all of Kamen Rider have come from seasons like Gaim (Fruit Warriors), Ex-Aid (Video Games) & Fourze (Anime High-School with space) and as such the candy theme does not put me off one bit. He seems like a loner, he's a grounded fighter in the vein of classics like Faiz, pretty dark tone to the bad guys as it's literally just a candy drug ring, it's all shaping up to be one of the best for Reiwa is it goes on like this. What has me cautious though is that Gotchard was... yeah. And Reiwa as a whole hasn't been the golden age of the show so far, it's been hits & misses, a lot of just middle of the road stuff. Gavv though? Looks like it's going in a great direction if what I hope comes to pass goes the way it does. Like the snacks he's based on, Gavv seems to be a treat after what Reiwa has been thus far, something refreshing.
I know this is way too early to say but once y'all done watching the episode 15, y'all must watch the "Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale" It's literally the continuity of that in chronological order And after watching that, you guys should watch the "Kamen Rider Geats: What the hell?! Desire Grand Prix Full of Men! I'm Ouja!" next After y'all done watching these 2, you guys can now proceed to episode 16 of Kamen Rider Geats
Nah that's why the Heisei era of Kamen riders was better, the amount of CGI they used in this generation is SO MUCH bro. The only titles I liked in this generation are Kamen rider zero one and Geats. Man, even the way the rider belt sounds is very weird, This show may turn out to be for younger viewers.

In't going to spoiler you guys but i can say that the origin for the candies is kind of messed up
I do like how this episode one is not throwing story elements everywhere and just gives us a basic understanding of who Shouma is
Yeah, already better than Hotaru.
@@MaxStarScream Yeah we didn't even knew who hotaro father is 😂

This is a wonderful comment, really broke down why people are excited for Gavv.

gavv has been straight fire as of late. episode 2 is soooo good
episode 3 was pretty good too

Gavv really unique one because u had to use Gummy again to reuse armor that destroyed. And the rider kick really cool. Thanks for your reaction
Thank ya'll for stepping up the editing game.
Gavv has been a fun ride so far. Looking forward to future episodes
Gavv is pronounced "gabu" in Japanese which meant "bite". Thus the bite in the logo and the snacks theme.

the edit is better
thanks for that
easier to follow now
no more rapid cuts
Fun fact: They actually stick the belt around his waist by recoloring the belt section became more like skin color
3:19 Neat fact the actor for the human disguise and voice of the Hound Granute is the same actor who was the human identity of the cockroach dopant from W
The name of the gimmick is called gochizo

Man, I came into Gavv thinking it looked dumb as fuck. Then it had the best first episode I've seen from a rider show in years
LETS GOOOO GUYSSSS. Gavvuu

Ok so about the pronunciation its Gabu, the Japanese word for bite, the reason there is two vv's is because that's the sound for "b" in Japanese
What website did you both use to watch? I’ve been looking for one to watch the newest series on!
Next kingohger
addict to candy 😂😂😂😂
Shoma stronger than Truck-kun.
Please react to the transformers 40th short by anime studio twigger.
