Hey guys, on the road to sweden Rank IV i flew the J21A-2. What a fantastic plane! Just like the a-1 its brilliant. I had a lot of fun in it, and this match had real entertainment value. So i hope you enjoy! Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe for more! Have a great day!
The engine of the J21A-2 is weaker shown in the x ray
The M/45 cannon was a Bofors chambered in 20 x110 H.S....The M/41 was an H.S. 20mm chambered in the same 20 x 110 cartridge...The difference in the planes is nil, gaijin just had such a truncated Swedish tree they had to take "creative liberties" with the planes...Look at the other Tier 4, just another run of the mill Mustang...Love the vids...
cheers mate, for the extra info! o7
The only "difference" between the two is that the A-2's fire faster. And you can tell because the burst mass/s is higher.
Mr. Jengar it's quite nice to have your videos coming out constantly again. Hope that everything's going pretty good with your family and your job as well.
ty sir! all is fairly well mate!
According to wiki "Aircraft had better avionics and was armed with a Swedish 20 mm gun" no Idea if WT has the cannon change.Keep up the good work!
A1 had the akan m/41(copy of HS404) & the A2 had akan m/45
o7
It does have the swedish 20mm in game. Has a slightly higher burst mass on the stat card. Wouldn’t say that justifies the doubled repair cost, but thats just me.
7:00 that Yak 9T needs some credit for some consistently good long range aim
Yeah he was pretty unlucky.
I finally got the j21 a1 and I already love it 💙💙
Yeah this thing eats damage a whole lot, definitely a must buy
yeah agreed!
In my dictionary shenanigans means "Jengar".
hehe, cheers mate!
J21A-2 had better avionics and was armed with a akan m/45 20mm cannon.
cheers mate!
Akan m45 fired 20x110 ammo, and was essentially a Bofors copy of the HS404, not a long-recoil classic Bofors weapon like the army's 20x145 m40.
@@dphalanx7465 the m45 is NOT a hispano copy
@@einar8019 It shoots the Hispano 20X110 round. Im curious--how do they differ? Are the actions different (gas vs recoil)?
@@dphalanx7465 I dont know the specific differences but its not a copy and its clear if you look at picrures of the 20mm m45 and a hs 404. There were licence produced hispanos and they were called m41(hs404), m47(mk5)
I love these planes!
please make a video on the t18b-1 also. i loved your video on the b18b and i know that you're gonna go nuts over the t18b-1
I don't understand how the J26 takes talisman precedence over the J21A's for some people. On paper the J21's seem pretty average in terms of manoeuvrability, but I find it amazingly easy to position myself on enemies that are trying to avoid my dives, and the accuracy and power of the guns make it so easy to rack up kills. At lower speeds and altitudes I find it quite capable of turning, snagging a kill, and taking a few hits (unless you're up against a higher energy BF109 or Japanese planes). First plane I've ever used that I average at least 2 to 3 kills a game, seemingly with ease, and I suck at this game.
yeah, agreed, this plane is great!
I haven’t flown the a-2 much, so I don’t know the differences, but the a-3 has a higher rip speed but seems to compress way more. Also the a-3 has a later variant of the guns and they don’t seem to kill as quickly as the a-1’s. Also if u want to be able to use WEP, put prop pitch to 75% and radiators 40-50.
As other mentioned the J21A-2 & A3’s both have the 20mm M/45 cannon while the A-1 has the earlier M/41(which I feel hits harder for some reason). Also the A-2 & A-3’s both have a slightly higher rip speed than the A-1.
Jengar can you do the j26 I love that to see on the video
The J21s are what I fly out when I need a confidence boost after getting smashed flying other nations.
Dont get smashed flying other nations ;)
Jengar lol, I do my best, but every now and then I have one of those days where my Hispanos feel like they’re spitting blanks. I don’t have that problem with the Swedish guns, just send more bullets and everything dies.
Hey Jengar, I noticed that your wondering about the difference between the A-1 and A-2. The biggest difference I found was inside the cockpit. The gun-sight is centered and clear in the A-2, rather than the clunky slightly off-center gun-sight in the A-1. In arcade and realistic it doesn't make a difference, but in simulator difficulty it might make a noticeable difference.
Ah good point, yeah in sb that will be a huge advantage! :)
i love how i get paired against/with those in my 3.0 J22
:)
The A-2's 20mm has 720 rpm, the A-1's is 630rpm. So the A-2 has slightly better firepower.
Overheating is an understatement. With open radiators on the coldest map in game you still overheat on wep, I think this is th eonly plane that can do that
I've found that you have prop pitch at around 77% and you can close radiators to around even 30% so that you can inf. WEP but your speed is significantly slower forcing you to fighting lower alts.
@@mortum_potato6124 75% works for me, wit 93% on other planes like this
Hey Jengar since you gave me advice to use the mouse and keyboard in arcade my scores have really improved considerably. I am having a lot my fun now. Thank you so much. I will try thr Joystick in sim later as i progress
Good stuff mate! Glad to hear it :)
Quick bit of research tells me that the difference is in the flaps and slightly in the engine and oil cooling system compared to the A-1 version
Okay, engine stats are the same though ingame. But of course that could be wrong ;)
@@jengar6258 Well, presumably it only affected the cooling rather than performance.
The only downside is the spaded repair cost of 20k SL for a similar performing fighter at only 1/3 BR tick down at half the repair cost. I'd like it if the cost go down to 13k.
fair enough
The sights are very different - both are nice - but the first one has the aiming sight hanging from the top of window which, sometimes obscure visibilty but also makes high deflection shots much easier.
you're playing sim then i take it?
@@jengar6258 yep exclusively. Just thought I should mention it... But like to watch your vids - many things are useful in sim aswell, although matches and fights are very different.
I think Sweden is my new favorite nation to fly. I think im going to talisman the a1 or a2 instead of getting a premium
You have more fun in the J21 chasing planes than being chased. If you're being chased you're sorta screwed. Most planes will out turn you and are faster than you.
Bin gerade dabei die Schweden zu erforschen. Freu mich schon auf das Flugzeug.
sehr gut!
@@jengar6258 you can speak German? I only once heard u say "angreifen"
I'm grinding sweden and I just got done completing tier 3 and researching tier 4 but I don't see any difference in the j21a's
the br's have changed over time.
Yeah sure it has double the repair cost, but this thing is great at farmong silver Lions. Just fly Realistic Battles and don't die. 3.9 Silver Lions multi does the rest. Just had a game with 4 Kills, giving me 93000 Silver Lions (without any boosters activated)
yeah, agreed!
7:08 Poor guy got a hit with 37mm right on the elevator and nothing. Got Gaijined lol.
hehe, it happens.
My only problem is trying to get to this plane from the J11.
I’ve barely won any fights against this plane the pilots flying it always know what they are doing and if I were to pilot this plane the whole team would acknowledge that and expected to carry the team but admittedly I’m not the best pilot I prefer cas planes so jengar can you help me I need to learn combat manuvers
I never see anyone climb in these. They always try to turn fight at low to mid altitude. What a shame.
absolutely!
I prefer the a1 because its 6k repair and i think the a2 is like 15k i think
Yeah true, and the rewards are better too!
I wonder... How would one bail properly out of this aircraft?
difficult, there's no need for that.
repair costs are a bit high tho
Not too bad in my opinion. this plane is an sl machine!
a2 gets a slightly faster firing 20mm
This plane is pretty much a1 at a higher br
Nothing pretty much changed right
This is something that can demonstrate my theory: Pay to win nations are biased. This plane is highly undertiered, as it happens with America and their Airacobras sitting at 3.0 while performing like a 5.0 aircraft. They out climb, out dive and outclass anything else. The Airacomet is also a very powerful jet that sits at 5.0 making it very hard for 109 G2 to fight against and in my only experience yaks are the only ones who can correctly club it as these have better roll rate and are a lot faster than 109s (laughing in yak 9u's 690 kmh maximum speed, that thing is the Soviet K4)
'Pay to win nations'? I find the Airacobra to be a very average plane, sure it's fast at low alt and can climb quite well(compared to 190's and other American props), they can only really turn with much heavier planes and 109 F-4s/G-2s, all of which outclass it in other areas. The guns are very unreliable except against bombers, since the 37mm has high spread, low velocity and inconsistent damage output. The airacomet is indeed borderline overpowered, but it has trash acceleration and in a G-2 you can just bully it in the vertical. Yaks are typically not faster than 109s, if they are ever faster it's at low altitude, above that their engines are horrifically bad and 109's can easily outdive Yaks(also not falling prey to the same levels of control stiffening). I get the impression you're into 109s, their bread and butter is to climb high, if someone gets higher run away to teammates. Once you're higher than all enemies, BnZ fighters(but don't follow them into a long dive since you'll equalise your energy states) and attempt to energy trap them with hammerheads etc. As long as you stay disciplined, and aren't stock in an uptier, 109s are one of the closest things the game has to an easy mode. Don't blame your failiures on 'pay to win bias' even if it does exist, there is always room for improvement, check out some channels like AdamTheEnginerd and Green Fury.
@@oliverhill9986 @Oliver Hill "p39 very average"? Learn to play buddy. The P400 IS an average plane. Do you know how much Americans tend to be downtiered? When I fight on Yak9u I'm constantly seeing F-82 spam but when I'm on K-4 or Yak 3p I barely see them no matter what server am I playing on. Yaks are typically faster than 109s in straight lines at low altitude, but heeyy a 3 ton g2 trop has only 1400 horsepower with WEP and a yak 9u weighs 2 tonnes and has 300 more horsepower with WEP and far better MER but gets shitted on the vertical by the G2, why? because altitude performance is modeled in Russians but not in 109s who should barely fly. 109s are easy because their weaknesses aren't modeled. When Hitler forgave combat with Russians below 3km was because Russians spiraled 109s from Bruno to Karl. The late Yakovlev planes (Yak 9u, 9ut, 9p and yak 3p) were designed with a full metal airframe to be able to dive til 760kmh safely, and the yak 3 family had clipped wings to roll better and compress a lot less and improve overall maneuverability at high speed, but Gajoob just copied the yak 1 wooden model to every single yak, and yak 3 and 3p compressing like a fuck past 400kmh.
America has jet like propellers sitting at 6.3 while Britain has to get conformed with Griffon Spitfire line sitting above 6.3 and still get outclassed by the planes they're matched against when they're stock. The P47d25 sitting at 4.3 flies like a rocket feather above 6k and doesn't compress at all, and can reach 720kmh easily. The Mikoyan 225 sits at 5.7 reaching the same speed but it's awful to fly because it doesn't fit the meta and it's only optimal speed is 420kmh IAS which isn't the appropriate knowing what 5.0-6.7 matches are about. It is actually not my problem if America players start going down to missile AAA and shit and get outplayed by any nation. Gaijin buffed 50 cals damage output and frag reception, their vehicles are undertiered, they have plenty of premiums and like Germany and Japanese, high altitude fighters don't suffer at low altitude and low altitude fighters don't suffer at high altitude. Also Hispano cannons have never been bad through all my 4 change logs I have been (began with WT recently updated to Northern Wind), they hit really hard, and the people just cry because the HEF SAPI isn't modeled correctly, but because Russian bias xaxa four shvak cannons firing 15 rps need to empty the already low ammunition load to down a zero. Go watch videos of Il2 Sturmovik and see LaGG3 shitting on G-4 109s whose performance in war thunder would be on par with a spaded G10. And no, I'm not a 109 pilot, I'm a yak and 109 pilot
@@kingghidorah8106 The F-82 is pretty undertiered indeed, but it's more an example of Gaijin balancing planes with repair cost instead of BR. I don't entirely get what you mean about 'altitude performance' not being modelled for 109's, and why would that affect vertical manoeuvres? The only thing I can think of is that the DB 600 series engines had a variable supercharger that would allow them to maintain a fairly consistent power output throughout typical combat altitudes, whilst most Soviet fighters either had no supercharger or had one geared towards low altitude flying. The reason why the 109 G2 can often effectively energy trap a Yak 9U is that it's higher mass results in it decelerating more slowly compared to the Yak(Newton's second law). I haven't got up to the Yak 3 in the Soviet tree yet so I can't make judgements as to whether the compression is accurate, but the shortening of wingtips tends to only decrease compression when it come to rolling, not pitch.
I wouldn't really describe the 6.3 American props like the P-51H and Bearcat as being like jets, their main advantage is their high thrust at low speeds(medium speeds to a lesser extent), whilst jets provide notably better thrust at higher speeds whilst providing worse thrust at lower speeds. From my experience flying Griffon spits they're slightly more competitive than Griffons but I'd still take a Mk 22 or 24 over the American alternative. The P-47D doesn't magically become a rocket at 6000m, it only starts to gain comparable acceleration to 109's(with the 109 being at the same alt). With it having relatively decent acceleration, and excellent energy retention, it can get up to a high speed and effectively keep it up when making BnZ manoeuvres. Granted, at 7000+m the 5.0 P-47N is capable of dogfighting an initially higher energy state 109K-4(from my experience flying the P-47N). However, the Jug certainly isn't immune to compression, but none of it's control surfaces completely lock up in a dive such as the rudder like in other USAF planes. It's generally quite easy to avoid a diving attack from one(at least in a fighter) thanks to it's widespread armament and low responsiveness. I don't know too much about the I-225 but I can agree with you that it seems below par compared contemporaries, which is a shame. The .50 cals are very strong but I don't think it's to the extent of 'bias', the 20mm minengeschoss round IMO is the only aircraft munition that seems to be grossly overperforming relative to pilot accounts. The issue with Hispanos isn't necessarily the underperformance and rare lack of functionality of HEFI and HEF SAPI rounds, but instead the atrocious stock performance. Hispano Mk II's are like shotguns whilst stock, with a quarter of the rounds you fire virtually dealing no damage(practice shells). Hispano Mk Vs are the same but with even more spread; they also continue seeing usage up until 8.7 with the Venom where stock Hispanos are objectively the worst stock guns at the tier. Strangely enough American AN/M2s perform much better in game, even though they are essentially the same gun but IRL the British Hispano was seen as being more reliable; this is the only thing IMO that really suggests an American bias, besides the F-82. You have a point that they hit hard, but from my experience I can accomplish the damage of four spaded Hispano Mk IIs with a single MG 151 using the stock belt. Their balancing factor is a simple trajectory. I agree with you that ShVaKs are one of the worst cannons in the game, you don't need to use 120 rounds(common soviet rpg count) to down a Zero if you get a single hit on the pilot or a fuel tank- an engine hit should cripple the plane, and wing/elevator damage should do the same if you hit 1-4 shots. The ammo load is often worse for Hispanos, with the B type winged spitfires and the Whirlwind featuring 60 RPG(the Spitfire VB and Whirlind are at 3.7). Sorry that this has gotten quite long, I just like balance discussions.
