Hey Chod, if you haven’t already check out the song “Jane” by Jefferson Starship, it’s a banger! 🎺🥁🧨💣
Is that Mickey Thomas ( Fooled Around And Fell In Love ) on lead vocal?
@@TheGreatGig73 sure is!
JEFFERSON STARSHIP, "MIRACLES", My opinion this is the most romantic song ever. Marty Balin sultry lead vocals. Of course the sexy, breathy backup vocals of the Iconic Grace Slick.
You guys slept on the part when he sings "I had a taste of the real world, when I went down on you"
And "dancing inside you" 😁
Or when your body ripples like a river when he touches her and plucks her body like a string. I spent like the first 35 years of my life hearing this song and being absolutely clueless to the lyrics.
This is one of the sexiest damn all-time songs ever!
A masterpiece. I suggest you listen to "Count on Me" from Jefferson Starship, also written and sung by Marty Balin.
1 of my all-time favorite song, remember getting it as a Christmas gift, guess on Christmas in 1975 ! Octopus.
Great song. "Runaway" too
Jesse Barish wrote Count on me, as well as Hearts and Lydia
Background vocals, including Grace Slick's, were spot on.
Two hauntingly beautiful timeless songs by Marty Balin can be found on Jefferson Airplane's 'Surrealistic Pillow" LP, "Today'' and ''Coming Back To Me''.
@Gary Cottam Gary, is this your suggestion? Should we tell Chod what the lyrics mean. I think Dee would have a hot flash.😊
I've been telling you Chod. To unleash the full power of the Jefferson Starship you must launch these songs.
JANE
FIND YOUR WAY BACK
& STRANGER. I hope you watch the official video for STRANGER to see the full crew in twin guitar action. Worth a listen. Just get on board and Enjoy
Marty Balin (the lead singer on this track) has a beautiful solo track called "Hearts".
My favorite song of theirs. 💖
This song is a vibe for sure. In bed. Getting groovy. Let’s just put it that way. 😂 Listen again! 💕👌🏼
One of my all time favorite songs. Thanks! 👍❤🤙
This song is from their nr 1 album Red Octopus... one of those albums you
can listen from first notes of the first song to the last song, a masterpiece.
Sexually perverze song. Thank God I didn't know until I was older what he was singing about. Dirtiest Love song ever...incredible as well.
Still Rock This weekly...
Was a junior in highschool when this came out! Was a bit bewildered about a few lines of the song! Yeah, now I know! Love the artists and all of their music up to starship! Favorites are Sara (my ring tone!)and Jane! You 2 are to cute! Love your smiles!
This song almost never made it to the radio airwaves because of it's lyrical content! JS at their very best
You should hear it again reading the lyrics, it is one of the sexyest rock songs out there. Regards adn do Jane for a totally different vibe.
So they had 3 incarnations of this band
Jefferson Airplane- 60's Psychedelic era
Jefferson Starship- 70's- 80's Soft Rock/Rock
Starship- 80's Rock 80's
Each had fantastic vocalist in each incarnation. Give these songs "Count on Me, With Your Love" a try.
Not to mention Hot Tuna.
Yes indeed.. 👍🏼
@@bobmessier5215 the best of them all!
Great song. Came out when I was in 9th grade. I remember my biology teacher and classmates talking about it, and I had no idea what they were talking about.
Check out Caroline from the previous album Dragon Fly.
The "Starship" edition of this band included Airplane members Paul Kantner (vocals/guitar/writing), Grace Slick (vocals), and Marty Balin (vocals, hand percussion). The original lead player and the bassist (Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady) left to form Hot Tuna. Anyway, the first 1970's Starship album "Blows Against the Empire" was mostly written by Kantner and still had a lot of that rebellious, revolutionary lyrical content and the music still leaned a bit toward late Airplane's sound but maybe a bit less commercial. 2nd 70's Starship was called Dragonfly and had one fairly big hit called Ride The Tiger which is a rocker. There were a few other good tracks on that record, too. This is the 3rd Starship record, called "Red Octopus" and it has good rockers and great ballads on it. This is a Marty Balin song, he's singing and he wrote it. Grace Slick has a terrific vocal performance on "Ai Garimasu" and on "Fast Buck Freddie." Kantner contributes some slightly progressive rockers with "I Want to See Another World" and the instrumental "Sandalphon." Marty rocks out on "Sweeter Than Honey" to close the album. Red Octopus as a whole is very much worth a listen and is IMO the best Starship album including the 80's work.
You left "Caroline" off the list for memorable hits off "Dragon Fly", everyone seems to have forgotten it and Marty didn't disappoint with that one either.
@@betseyr.9081 And I left out St. Charles Place or whatever that title was...
@@Alewifes_Husband "St. Charles" was released on their "Spitfire" album and certainly is one of their very best efforts as well.
@@robbiddlecombe8392 I stand corrected! I'd never heard if Sun Fighter, and my older sister did not have a copy so it's a gap in my education 😉
Check out, "Coming Back to Me" by Jefferson Airplane, it's the same lead vocalist, Marty Balin...
'Pretty please, with sugar on it'. That's the line where I saw Che (sp?) start to seriously melt into the groove. This song is my favorite by this band (whichever lineup or name you choose), and there are so many subtleties in it you can listen over and over (also a very romantic song). I always pictured them all in a room full of cushions and incense and just a tangle of arms, legs, and other body parts while they recorded it. 😉
MUST HEAR Classics,, Jefferson Starship "With Your Love",, "Runaway",, "Ride The Tiger",, "Play On Love" & "Count On Me"
My first girlfriend, memories, our song. I’ll have to say, you left out the meaning of the lyrics, the poetry of love making.
Pretty intimate & intense love song. Listen to the words closely. First time I ever realized it I was shocked. And impressed.😜
The video of Jefferson Starship's "Stranger" is fantastic.
"I got a taste of the real world...when I went down on you" 😜 4:20
If you like this song you've got to check out "Count on me" beautiful song 🎵
I love how nobody here's the dirty parts like "I had a taste of the real world when I went down on you", "you ripple like a river when I pluck your body like a string", "When I start dancing inside you". I don't feel so bad that I didn't pick up on those phrases when I was a young teen and it came out, I think we missed it because we were lost in the tune and melody.
They could rock out Chod especially in their early years when they were known as The Jefferson Airplane. As the years went on and personnel changed so did their sound, just like many other groups.
Listen to Jefferson Starship songs titled " Fast Buck Freddie" and "Play on Love" . Lead vocal by Grace Slick.
I saw them perform this live, what a show.
I remember AM Radio stations would blank out or otherwise muddle the line 'I had a taste of the real world, when I went down on you girl!' nowadays most stations play it and no seems to notice the line at all....lol
Big hit, if you want something a bit more rockin', try Sweeter Than Honey off this same album. Jefferson Starship can bring the rock at times as well.
I love to listen to my old favorites and see a younger generation/race and what their thoughts are on our music. It's fascinating to me to see what a black person thinks about this music. I'm so glad people off all types do these reaction videos. We're all more connected than we think :) Blessings.
Marty Balin at his Best off of the Red Octopus album ..
Love this entire album. I listened to it over and over back in the day! Grace Slick's background vocals are so sultry!
@@babylonsister118 .. I think if I ever played this song on my Original vinyl .. This song would pop and crack with some deep grooves Big Time from me playing it so much !!! 😁.. You are so right with Grace Slicks vocals ..
@@xtrmfc 😁
You need to play count on me and runaway you will really like them.
It also help if you read the lyrics, It's music & lyrics will make you feel what the person is feeling, It's about making love to a woman your madly in love with. ( I had a taste of the real world, When I went down on you love) (I pickup your vibes you know you open my eyes and dreams)
They missed the whole point of the song. Didn't hear the lyrics at all. Worst reaction.
I love this song. The sexual innuendos ❤RIP Marty
They have a variety of styles and their best one just may be St.Charles. Try reacting to that one and it will surprise you!
I'll try it. This was very pretty.
Agreed on St Charles. Great harmonies on that one along with some great instrumentation
My favorite under the radar hybrid power ballad.... 1976 man 10 years before heavy metal surfaced
Should listen/react to: "Jane" and "Nothings gonna stop us now"
Chod you said it, "Vibe". When this hits you, you know it. When a song hits that Vibe, it just feels so good. Try "Ah Leah" by Donny Iris, it will hit you on the 1st 4 notes.
Not cheatin'... Sharing the Love! 😏😁
Best song its not close "JANE" find the live video !!!!
Miracles
When groups are down the great ones rise to the top because they have it
Love this song ever since it came out!
Great pick, great reaction!
Check out Marty's vocals on "Wooden Ships" from the Airplane days. Grace is awesome too!
I got to see them in Lincoln, NE in the summer of 1978. $20 festival seating.
Jane!!!!!
Could you do pointer sisters " i'm so excited" live 2002. Joe Jackson, :you cant get what you want" live ( vevo)
When Released This MUST HEAR Classic Was So Beautiful,, MANY Would Get Married To It (Including My Own Sister) Chicago "Colour My World"..TRUST ME On This One!!
listen to the song White Rabbit
One of their best.
Please listen to…..Count on Me
great song
Anyone who has been in love or lost a love can relate to this song
Marty Balin wrote the sexiest song ever here. What a great singer and songwriter.
Oh, it’s definitely a “vibe”…😉. Hope y’all catch it!!!
I liked them more in Airplane era.
the name is plural. Miracles.
Pure sensuality!
This is music.....
If you're going to make sweet, sweet love to your woman, you can't go wrong playing this or Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe, by Barry White.
and how they got by with the line. I got a taste of the real world, when I went down on you...
Love this song immensely. Marty Balin was a singer. RIP, God bless! Chod you need to check out JANE, by them with the great Mickey Thomas on lead. It's 🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE
Good Day Chod, and wife :) Jefferson Starship put out two good albums consecutively - Red Octopus and then the stellar Spitfire. This was Balin, Kantner and Slick at their very best song writing. From Red octopus - Fast Buck Freddie and Miracles. From Spitfire - the first five songs are classic Starship - and deserve more credit than they get. With Your Love was the hit from Spitfire.
One last note: Spitfire has the most incredible album cover. My personal favorite. That woman on the dragon is AWESOME!!!
Thanks for hitting Jefferson Starship.
Ken
What an amazing recording
You obviously have not gotten far into the history of hits from this band (Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship & Starship are all band names they released under), they have plenty of bangers to choose from, here's a few to get you started (and it is just a few), "Somebody to Love", "White Rabbit", "Volunteers", "I Want To See Another World" and "Find Your Way Back"
Him: "They have this vibe"
Her: "Their hair looks soft"
lol
Men v women priorities.
Also, you should (if you don't already) have a separate screen showing you the lyrics of the songs you react to. Sometimes it really matters.
All of which means you are almost rady for Starship's "Love Lovely Love" and if the first 30 seconds of arrangement don't get you to a new plateau, I'll be very surprised.
With Your Love is such a great song...gee I love every song I ever heard from them, they are AMAZING!!
Jefferson Starship
Jane
You got to go deeper into their catalogue...St. Charles, love to good, stranger, some of this is live...this is commercial work.
Lyrically shocking for the seventies.... whoa!!!!
No not subtle, some yes. Try their Jefferson Airplane album "Worst of Jefferson Airplane", Songs from that album, "White Rabbit", "Plastic Fantastic Lover", "Blues from an Airplane"", "Its No Secret", "Today", "Lather", "Somebody to Love", "Embryonic Journey", "Martha", "Crown of Creation", "Volunteers", "Chushingura", "We Can Be Together", "Good Shepherd', and "The Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil" , :"Embryonic Journey" and "Chushingura" are instrumentals and because you are a musician you may dig them.
One of their best. Try St. Charles and Runaway.
Wooden ships .... oh so haunting I felt like I was on board feeling the waves hit the bow.
With Your Love…Miracles part 2
One of the prettiest songs...
Check out the song Find your way back!
Thats the fastest talking guy I have ever heard in my life. I needed subtitles.
The song is NOT titled Miracle
Jane........ Jane........ Jane......... No regrets.
One of the sexiest songs ever written: feel like swirling and dancing whenever you walk in with me (whenever, whenever you walk with me)
You ripple like the river when I touch you (let me touch you)
Then I pluck your body like a string (show you what I mean)
Then I start dancing inside you (oh baby, a love song)
Definitely not a “lounge” group
I always love your reactions!
One of the best, sexiest love songs ever.
They were also hardcore rock.
Awesome song and awesome album,
Hey Chod & Dee! Happy New Year! Hope 2023 has great things in store for you, much love from SETX. I think you'll enjoy Winds Of Change & Find Your Way Back, both are excellent. Fun fact, the singer Mickey Thomas sang the Elvin Bishop hit Fooled Around And Fell In Love ☮️ ✌️ ❤️🎵🎼🎶🎸🇱🇷
Great start for this year.
Classic 70's !!!!!
😁👍
familiar stranger. proves they are still a rock band during this era
Sometimes the old songs and bands had a time and a place. If you were there, then you'd appreciate them more for the environment they rose to fame in. Then there are other songs and bands that are timeless.
The guy who sang this song, and the female singing backup were not on the album you were listening to. It had a completely different lead singer. This older version of the band is where the true classics are. Count on Me, Runaway, Fast Buck Freddie, Ride the Tiger, Love Too Good.... White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane is in my top ten all-time greatest songs.
