I might buy that for my shop!
I need that for my kitchen. I bake and decorate cakes and cookies and there is never enough counter space, so thanks! I will be buying
I love that table, you two find the best things
@@kaydefreese7586 you could even stand up and sew
I was looking at it but they don't ship it internationally
Just remember it's your door. If you want to paint it pink with purple dots on it, it's your door and we don't have to live with it. You are doing beautiful work and you should be happy with it and will never please all ten thousand people watching. Keep up the great work and we enjoy watching.
I think that pink with purple dots would be cool! 😂
@@sharoncochran8508 If anyone painted it that way and did a U-Tube video someone would moan about it. My theory is it's your place, my place and no one should be negative about the process as they don't have to live with it.
@@danielheartsill4269 You're right! There's no way I could open up my life to public scrutiny. When I lived in my own house (pre divorce), I enjoyed being creative with my decor! That was one of the perks of being an artist and a seamstress! I love painting, wallpaper and lots of color!
First step into a functioning kitchen. How patient Ashley is for running the family without a real kitchen for such a long time! I'm still holding my fingers crossed for a satisfying solution about the other cabinets.
Me too!
DIY should stand for "Do It Your way". I don't think every comment is necessarily a criticism, but the natural response to someone watching you do something differently than they would. It's fun to see your vision as it comes to fruition. The white door is cleaner looking and fits in with the decor beautifully. It will all come together. Now..get some rest.
I ‘boy spit my drink out in laughter!
“You guys have said you don’t want me painting them,... but, I’m doing it.” 🤣🤣🤣
I love how you guys stand by what you feel and are not deterred by others. Major respect!!!
Did the same when he said" I can hear everybody on the computer screaming" something to those words.😆
Connie C hahaha!!! It was so hilarious! Lol
When you started saying “ohh, ohhhhhhhh” at like 18:45 I stopped chewing (because I was eating lunch bc that’s when I watch these videos ☺️) and I started freaking out. I was like OH NO SOMETHINGS WRONG. and then Doug was like “it’s beautiful” and I was like “OH THANK GOODNESS”
HAHA :D
Yeah He got me too. I thought something went badly wrong 😂
Yup, I thought something terrible head happened. But was relieved when Doug said how beautiful it was.
Ditto
Hey Doug and Ashley, please don't dwell on all of the feedback and questions about the layout. Your house, your choices. It is all looking great and y'all should be proud. Great job!
All the best to you and your family!
Thank you :)
I'm very happy to see that gentle little lady has part of her kitchen working!
It’s your door ,your house ,your design ,go for it 👍🏻
Hey Guys! Those blue microfiber rags that you can buy at Home Depot will keep those stainless steel appliances looking good as new! I use them with just plain hot water and they clean up all the fingerprints and don’t leave streaks!
Everyone thinks it’s cute when Maverick rolls up on a reno project. Little do you all realize, it’s gonna be soon called “Toddler Renos starring Maverick”. I can’t he’s too cute for UA-cam👍🏼
If it’s something you’re not going to use often, I can see why its location makes sense. It’s out of the way and makes more room for things you want or will need to do in the rest of the kitchen without a big wall oven taking up space....plus in the end... it’s YOUR Home.
I love that oven! The blue inside is so beautiful. I use my oven all the time. I don't care for having to stand over a stove cooking. I'll sit at the kitchen table chopping up a bunch of veggies, throw it all in a casserole dish for the oven, and yes. Dinner served in 45 minutes. Is it lazy? Yes. Is it healthier? Yes. Win win.
65sheilakay I never thought of it that way. I’ll have to remember your idea. Typically I do more surface cooking.
I like the door white! I think it goes with the design! Also, Doug.. would you please do some merch that says "It will all make sense in a little bit" or something like that! It is so your statement and things truly do make sense eventually!!!
Your oven cabinet turned out great. And I think you were right to paint your door white to match the kitchen cabinets. It makes perfect sense. Now you all need to celebrate by baking some cookies 🍪🍪🍪
Wow! It all looks great!!! FYI... after louvered door is completely cured use a dryer fabric sheet to polish all the louvers..... it will keep dust from sticking to louvers..... and make maintenance so much easier in a busy household !!! 😘🙌🏼
Shouting for joy. Ashley, your smile tells a story all it's own. Yay!
Clever idea to have oven facing back door. In summer when it's hot, if you bake, you can open back door and let out most of the heat!😊👍
If you do cover the back, leave the vent area at top right open . Fresh air is pulled in there by a cooling fan to cool the electronics. I work on appliances for 22 years. GE had one that had a coffin effect. It couldn't get fresh air in to the control. We had to cut an air supply hole in the bottom of the cabinet.
Yes that true we had that oven, they sent us a new one because it was designed wrong. They are a good company. O and drill some small holes or put a small vent plate in to help it get more air, them computer controls are very pricey when they have to be replaced ugh!
Oh the joy of a wall-mounted oven! I got my first one in 2015 when we remodeled our old kitchen, and I’m almost 60 years old now. Looks great, guys, can’t wait to see your kitchen remodel continue. 🍽🥛🍯🍵🧂🧁🥧🍪🍩🍚🍤🥟☕️🍽🙋🏻♀️
You guys are the best!
The way you explain everything is so clear.
It looks beautiful. Now is time to enjoy oven food🥖🥧🍪
A longer video❤️
I’m not yelling. I think it looks good, it makes the room flow instead of a choppy mismatched “mess”. It keeps everything bright. Trust your gut. Besides you have to live with it not us.
haha, thanks!
I'm watching all of your videos (not necessarily in order) with great pleasure. Words cannot express my admiration. In 1955, I watched my father build our house (3 bedrooms, radiant heating, fireplace and all the mod cons). Your whole family is amazing. Special kudos to Ashley. Doug, you restore my faith in America.
I'm so glad you painted the door. It looks so much better painted
My hubs and I have been subscribed to your channel for several months now. We watch on our roku so we've never been able to leave a comment. But I thought it was time to log on to the PC just so we could =) We enjoy your videos. We call you "The Kids" (we are old, I'm 53 and he is 66). I'll be at work and will call home on my lunch time and he'll tell me "The Kids" have a new video out and he will wait for me to get home so we can watch together =) We both have grown kids and grandkids but you are "Our Kids" too. Love watching you guys do what you do
That's so awesome, thank you very much 😄
Funny, that's what my husband and I do too.
I wonder how many "parents" and "grandparents"you have. 😁
Lol. Had to smile to see those pizzas in the oven you've been waiting for, for 6 months. Enjoy!!
Looks good! I wonder why you didn't turn the oven to face the kitchen rather than the back door. But if that is the way you want it...either way would work.
John Beaber, I wondered the same thing! Hard to get a true perspective of the kitchen from the camera but it seems like it would be more functional facing into the kitchen rather than towards the back door. 🤷🏻♀️
You had me going there for a minute. When you slid the oven in the second time and said," Ooo,Ooo" I thought something was wrong. I glad everything worked out so well.
That oven is a thing of beauty!! Great job!!! Love that you take the time to fix it right instead of half assing the job!
Don’t know what I would do without an oven. I make homemade biscuits and cornbread. I know you can’t wait until you have full kitchen.
Congratulations on a successful conclusion to the epic oven saga!
I like that you coordinated the interior of the oven with the exterior door color! LOL
haha :)
The procurment and installation had all the drama of child birth. Well done Team DIYfferent. And the cliffhanging design elements to be explained in an upcoming video. You two are ready for the 'BIG screen'. Now get your rest and return for the future exciting installments!!!! Is there an award in the suspence category of UA-cam Excellence?
I like the pride you take in your work and it shows. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Congratulations on getting part of your kitchen functioning again! I think painting the door white was a good call for the space 😉
Bedrooms, shower, washer, oven...reno heaven! And on top of that...glorious pizza!!
Ha! I’m only :24 seconds into the video and MAVERICK!!! Love how he is so interested in everything dad does!!!❤️❤️❤️
Totally was about to comment about the awkward location. Can’t wait to hear the reasoning... at risk of sounding annoying I’d love to know when you explain everything why you didn’t turn it to face the kitchen since it would be in the same spot and kinda look more cohesive with the kitchen. Great video & can’t wait for another! Don’t forget to tell folks to subscribe! I know you both are so humble but dang! You deserve to self promote a little! Some people just simply forget to subscribe! I wasn’t for many months while watching. :)
The layout will probably get weirder before it makes sense, haha. We'll do our best to explain why later on :)
Your channel has become my favorite to watch and immediately watch when theres a new upload. I love your guys' attitude on things and life.I love how detailed you are and the pride you take in your work. I love how you explain everything and all your tips from your own trial and errors are a great help.
Awesome. Thank you for that, it means a lot to us.
Painting the door white was deff a good idea :)
I have lined the bottom of my oven with heavy duty aluminum foil to catch spills for easy cleanup. Your job was very top-notch as always. You really have the potential for a business of your own. Blessings 🙏 on your family and hi to Belle and Maverick from Mimi. Ashley, you can see the light at the end and are blossoming like a Spring flower. Will be so happy when you can all go out and enjoy the sunshine 🌞 and God's beautiful world. I saw my first Robin yesterday - nest-making time again. Yeaaaaaa!!!
I love the door painted white. I'm glad you did it. 👍👍
Why did you put your oven so far away from the rest of the kitchen appliances? Seem lost way over in back entryway?
Cult 45 ... watch the entire video
Collette Landwer I did. They made it a mystery at end. Thanks
I think it’s just fine where it’s at. The kitchen is coming together quite nicely. Can’t wait to see the finished product. 🤗🤗
Doug, you’re so meticulous with everything you do, quite impressive! I love that you let Maverick help you when he asks. You and Ashley have a very rich life...❤️
As long as Ashley is happy with the layout that's what matters. What may seem odd to one cook, may be perfectly functional for someone else. An advantage of being back by the door, you can crack the door to get air flow if it heats up the kitchen to much (or if you are broiling and it gets smokey).
Wow! That is one beautiful oven! Those pizzas looked pretty good too! I love my convection oven, I use it for everything. Very well done. The big guy and I learned the hard way, do it right the first time, because it will drive you nuts every time you walk by a project thinking, ' shoot! we gotta fix that oven cabinet'. Every time we said ' let's call it good' because we were so tired, we had to fix it later anyway, so it's best to deal with stuff when it happens. Smart thinkin'! ;)
PIZZA!!! WOuld have been my first choice too!! Great Job!!
I was a nervous wreck 😬 by the time you got that oven put in! So glad you took the time to do it right 😊
As far as painting your door, it is your house, you can paint anything any color you choose! Love the new oven and the fact that you made it fit right!
Im so glad that you showed the problems that people can face with these
The required dimensions cant be compromised or it will fail - I know -it took me 4 hours to do a 1 hour job
I love how detailed you are! This is so satisfying! Thank you for the video! You made my Friday! I’ll probably watch this video again! 👍🏼✝️❤️
Jesus IsGod Me too, if nothing else, just to see Maverick at work.
haha, that's great. Thanks!
I love your oven! So pretty. Glad you took the time to fix it correctly. It would have drove you crazy if you hadn't (it would me anyway). I also love the door painted white. It looks so clean and bright. Great job guys! Also, loved Maverick's big smile when he helped Doug. Such a sweet boy.❤
At first I was surprised by the location of the oven in the kitchen, but if you only use it once a week, or less, a back corner is the perfect spot. Kitchens can get so crowded with shelves, microwaves, ovens, giant refrigerators, and then the windows get small and the room feels small, claustrophobic. Putting one major appliance to the side helps keep things open.

Hi fam,
That oven in the cabinet looks great, as always you did it perfectly and well thought out.
Yes, you are right, I don't understand the position and why the oven faces the backdoor, but that is not my kitchen and maybe I'll get it after everything is done.
And I'm sure: if you change your mind on the way to the finish, you will make everything look like it never has been DIYfferent.
My kitchen is a little shoe box and I planned and measured for weeks. Nearly everybody said: that is what you want? Oh nooo...
But I love it as it is and now nearly everybody loves it too.
Cheers pizza! 🍕🍕🍕
Awesome guys, so happy for you. A little tip, make yourself a foil tray, and place it at the bottom of your oven. Inexpensive, and keeps the bottom of your oven clean.
Actually, you're right...the white door looks better. I forgot you painted that wall tan and was thinking it was the brown paper that would be painted white. The oven looks really snazzy; love the blue interior and sliding shelf. It makes sense that you would put it over there if you don't bake that much. Besides, you have that great adjustable rolling table so if you need to carry anything over to the other side of the kitchen (like a turkey) you can always use that. I would do that as well, in order to keep the maximum counter space.
Hi Doug & Ashley,I must say you were RIGHT,the door looks awesome painted!! Love it!!Have a great day!!👍🏻😊👏🏻
You guys are my favorite UA-camr. I greatly enjoy watching your videos and I learn alot from them
Thanks!
Happy to see you succeed with at least one cabinet! Hope the rest go better than the first ones! Best of luck!
YESSSSS! VICTORY! Y’all are amazing! It doesn’t matter where the oven is. If it works for you then that’s all that matters!
True, you just have to do what works best for you and your home. Thanks!
Looks great! The pantry door being painted white will look really nice with the whole unit. Pizza, a fitting first bake in the oven.
Hey guys..love you videos. I just watched the Oven video. I was going to buy an LG oven a few years ago as I loved the blue color inside but there were a lot of complaints about the oven glass window shattering in self cleaning mode so beware. Also, you may notice that there is no heating element in the bottom of new ovens any longer. The element is built in on the underside of the floor of the oven interior. BEWARE: never ever place aluminum foil or any metal trays directly on the floor of the oven (in order to keep it clean for example) as it will fuse to the bottom of the oven and ruin it. Just a couple of things I wanted to let you know about to avoid any tragedies... Thanks for all of the videos.
Thanks for the tips. Glad you enjoy our videos
Its your door, do whatever you like. We love you guys regardless👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
haha, thanks :)
Your work ethic blows me away. What an amazing end to a very difficult story. You really toughed it out and stayed on top. Great job! Your kids have some incredible parents!👍💖
Yay pizza!! So glad you could finally get your oven in. Thanks for sharing.
Nice oven. My Mom and Dad had a wall oven when I was growing up. I am happy that things are finally coming together for you both with the cabinet and oven.
I swear...I was not one of the ones screaming "NOOOOOO" when you painted the door. It needed to be white. Good job! And Happy Friday!❤
haha, Thanks!
That looks great. Bet Ashley LOVES having an oven again! Love seeing your right hand little man in action!!
Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!!!!!! So wonderful for you guys. Meals are endless now. Bake up a big dinner for us to see. Good time to stay home and bake. Stay away from people..... 'Lil Mav learning something new everyday. Hugs to all. Granny from OHIO
So happy that you have that cabinet headache behind you! Hope the rest goes without a hiccup. I like that you painted the door white😃 I know you enjoyed those pizzas! Stay healthy! Wash your hands! Blessings!💐
Yea, the pizzas were amazing especially not having them for so long! Thanks!
Doug, I'm not in the don't paint the door camp. I can understand the reasoning behind painting it. 😉😁
And thank goodness for an oven. I really hope it makes your life a lot easier. ❤
I really admire the way you go the extra step to make sure something is right! Looks great too!
Hahah, instead of disappearimg, you two *dematerialized* at the end and came back as pizzas! Brilliant! 😄 [Edit to add that this job looks wonderful. I am always so pleased and proud when I see you guys going the extra mile to make things truly right.]
LOL!
SUPER JOB!! That is such a neat oven! And painting the door white was the correct choice! Great Job as Usual !!!
This was such a satisfying video. With all you have been through with this oven/cabinet install, it’s great to see it complete. You never lose patience. Great work.
You did a great job with that, Doug! I can relate to any nay-sayers over painting the wood. 😎 I like the white paint on the door of course!
haha, thanks :) Now we have a wood door in the hall and a white door in the kitchen so everyone can be happy!
Ive been here a long time n i know not to question your madness Doug...lol...you always have a great ending..🤗
I never miss a video of yours, so I kinda know how you think. I know your kitchen is gonna look perfect I mean how often does anyone use the oven, pizza yesssss. But a cook top stove "everyday" I like your thinking and I love you guys.
Thanks!
That was very smart to pull that stove back out and redo it look how perfect it came out great job guys. Blessings
Nice. What a beautiful oven. Proud of you for wearing your hearing and lung protection. But I was yelling at you because you forgot your eye protection. 😊 Ashley looks so happy. Now go to bed! Job well done.
Looks wicked good.. you will love the convection oven! Now, get some sleep.. haha!
Thanks!
WOW! What a beautiful oven, great job!
You have to design your kitchen that best fits your family. I think it looks so nice. I love that pullout shelf in the oven. Excited to see more of the kitchen remodel.
Yayyyyyyy!! You NOW have your oven in place. Great job. 🍽🍵
Really beautiful and this is a house not a double wide. I think cutting the back is is wise and it allows the vents to work. Diann
The door looks great. I'm glad you are going to explain why the oven is in the entry way. That's just strange to me. I wouldn't want to carry a hot dish from the oven to the table, but sounds like you have a plan.
You have to carry the dish no matter where it is though ;) We have a plan.. don't know if it's a good one, but we have a plan, haha.
Great job. I smell cookies. Belle can bake to her heart's content.
I think that white door off the kitchen, being so near the blue entrance door is a smart choice. You just can't beat white for kitchens and bathrooms imo... it looks so clean and sanitary! :) Things are coming together beautifully... excellent job as always you guys :)
Beautiful wall oven! I do like your work table.
I like the work table too. Definitely will be a future purchase for me.
Aw it looks gorgeous and the pantry door is really nice painted white xx
So happy you finally have an oven! Growing up, our oven broke and we didn't have one for over a year, so I know how frustrating it is not to be able to bake anything! Makes you really appreciate something simple like a tray of roasted vege! Love how the blue interior of the oven matches the blue door!
Great idea to paint the door white....looks really nice.
Thanks!
I actually do see why it is there but not the direction it faces. Of course, I don't have the perspective of the distance from the wall to the back door, light switch, pantry door. But that table would help to load and unload the oven just by rolling it over. I am content to wait and see the layout when you get there. Haven't really questioned ya'll so far!
Love the white on the door. Are you painting the hall door now too? lol II love the oven just wondered why it didnt face into the kitchen...I will wait til video explaining the layout! You always have things figured out better than us keyboard critics!! On to baking!!!
No, the hallway door is staying the way it is. :)
Oven cabinet looks awesome. Love your attention to detail.
Okay I don't want this to sound negative and this is my own thought, if you would have turned the front of the oven towards the kitchen instead of towards the back door, I think it would be more accessible from the counter work area and closer to the the refrigerator and everything else that goes on in the kitchen. Butwhat works for me or someone else may not work for you you have your own way of traveling through your kitchen. Overall it's a beautiful job and I'm so glad you guys finally can cook in your oven. God bless you all!
Just a note in passing. I love your videos. I love all that I'm learning from you. Most of all, I love your family! I truly wish I lived closer so that I could lend myself to your work in any way you could use me. You are such a positive force. Thank you for sharing yourselves so freely. That is so generous of you!
Thank you so much.
Totally agree with painting the utility door white. Yay, your oven's in! Its Cool looking too. Great job as always.💞👍carrie
Looks great! Congrats on one more step towards having a real kitchen!
