Painting Jack

This is my first attempt at managing my camera on "video" setting while painting! I use this process for a dog portrait in oil, which differs considerably from the acrylic method. Jack is a Mexican Hairless belonging to my brother's neighbour in Osoyoos, B.C. He has since passed away (I can't believe this portrait was painted three years ago already!) and the owner treasures the artwork of her precious pup. This is just one reason why I love to paint as I try to capture the heart and soul of each animal. It's more than a picture.
