That's a insufficient statement! Especially when African & Greek Martial martial arts predates Kalaripayuttu.

@@Dragonflyjones67 there existed many fighting techniques and self defense using weapons. But as an art which is well structured, dynamic, ancient this is a real martial art. That's why kalari is the mother. 🙏

  • @vedicved5602

Every person who's watching this demonstration, as a Kalari practitioner🙏 I would like to explain you that,
This is clearly not a proper demonstration of Kalaripayattu's hand to hand combat!😞😞😕😕
Here both practioners are only throwing each other, jumping and apply locks very slowly with very few and impractical strikes... 😅😅😅
Most Probably, they aren't trained enough to apply the techniques, as it's the last thing to learn in Kalaripayattu(Kalari training can even take your entire life span). Or, they just don't wanna show this stuff to everyone.💔💔
In Kalari, the last stage is Verumkai(Unarmed combat)
    It includes:
Mainly open hand strikes from different different angles + Different types of Punches + Kicks from different directions + Slips + Long Blocks + Short blocks + 64 types of throws in grappling + counter of the throws + 18 types of locks and their variations + Unlocking the locks + Elbow Strikes + Knee Strikes + Marma hitting(and most deadly).
Verumkai is putted above all combat stages of Kalari, Koltgari (fighting with wooden weapons) and Angathari (fighting with metal weapons), for a reason🔥...

Just remember, it was taught to our ancestors by Lord Parshuram(6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu) himself,
And it gave birth to East Asian Martial Arts like Kung Fu (Directly by Bodhidharman), and Karate, Muay Thai etc (Indirectly).
This art was the reason for such glorious and bravery of the Southern empires, like Cholas, Pandyas, and Cheras🔥🔥🔥
