      I would hesitate to make that claim, although I see what you're trying to say, lol. Remember, that Twin Galaxies scandal wasn't that long ago, and all those higher-ups and judges got their comuppance. When the other shoe finally drops over at the Pokemon company, this will be used as Exhibit A against these cheating, colluding idiots.

    Nice outfit. I like it. Looking good.
    Wow. They really don't like you.
    Cheating is bad. Cheating is not okay in school, sports, etc...but apparently it's okay in Pokemon according to some people. That makes no sense. If you cheat in school you get in trouble. If you cheat in sports you get in trouble. If you cheat in Pokemon...nothing bad happens to you.
    How many times I've heard about not cheating on tests, etc. not plagiarizing, don't cheat in sports, PLAY FAIR. Yet, in VGC Pokemon that's not happening with a lot of people.

    "if you know about ivs thats bad." you can literally look at them in the games through the iv checker guy and the iv checker function in the pc in s&m and usum... sure you cant get the exact value but its pretty easy to tell, espesially if its max or nothing

    • @ElysetheEevee
      @ElysetheEevee 6 років тому +2

      Yeah, I kept thinking that as well. You can verify the NUMBER/RANGE your IV's are at and in what aspect, in-game, the guy is that fucking specific. These judges are idiotic.

    • @beach2550
      @beach2550 6 років тому

      You can even compare your stats vs the base stats of a the same Pokemon. IVs are literally visible in the game just like most other stats. Maybe she confused it with the players Secret ID, which can still be determined by someone who knows what they're doing.
      But if she's comparing sharing knowledge with "not supposed to know" then all schools and learning systems should not exist. If you have to go to a website or read a book to help find the base stats of a Pokemon, that's cheating. According to her.

But when the hacking got crazy I said whats the point in me putting in hours of work for people to make a perfect pokemon for them when you have people do it in minutes and act like its legit pokemon . Pokémon used to be the one game I could play and not doubt a lost .If I lost I lost at least I knew the other player went through the same effort I did now whats the point

      killing minions in league of legends to buy items to get a strong champion is so tedious so why can't people just cheat to get money?
      aiming to shoot people in csgo is tedious and you might even miss so why not just aimbot its a respectable tactic because it saves you from needing to play the game.

      hacking in pokemon gives you an advantage by taking all room for error out of it.
      breeding is every much a part of the game as battling, if you can't accept that then you should find another game, you're clearly too lazy and not as good as you thought you were.
      if you wanna play with perfect pokemon 100% of the time either get good or go play showdown instead.

      I watched that entire video and they say multiple times that they do not condone modifying pokemon. That video was made to let other judges be aware of what is out there and what to look out for. I think verlis is putting words in their mouths, granted I don't use twitter nor do I know who is friends with who or if there really is some cover up going on. But they do say in the video that they will disqualify players caught using pkhex. That said, I agree with Joe Merrick, I myself wanted to get into competitive vgc but I was discouraged when I saw everyone using pkhex and getting away with it. Even the regional organizer was using it and even offered to generate pokemon. The ORGANIZER was doing that. So I left. I would definitely love to see the competitive scene cleaned up from the top down because I know there are judges that do the whole *wink wink, nudge nudge, that pokemon is "legal". I just don't see that to be the case here with these judges.

    • @sbengholm
      @sbengholm 5 років тому +3

      Cookie in Bed They have to say they don’t condone modifying pokemon, but if you watch the entire thing and make a conclusion on their view of hacking, they might not condone it, but they won’t do anything about it, since they can’t prove whether some pokemon are hacked or not, even though a pokemon seems suspecious. And i think they like the community and the top tier players as is, and that’s why they attack verlis, since he is trying to change that, by not allowing the players they like into the tournaments, when they have cheated.
      It’s like, if you knew your friend cheated in an exam to get into the same college as you, which you really want to happen. But because there’s a limit on the amount of students who get access to that college, some other student had to be denied access because of your friend’s cheating.
      You know it’s not fair, but you don’t want to admit he cheated, because you like the idea of going to school with him.

    I really want to be competitive but I can't with this. Please keep pointing this out, the only way they will change when it becomes an issue. If it is deemed hacked you are banned or perm banned depending on the severity. It's easier to IV and EV breed than ever before, competitive takes time and not hacking any other game would punish cheaters.

    • @maxerickson12
      @maxerickson12 6 років тому +2

      Jacob Lewis I mean with that point specifically technically they aren’t wrong though. There is literally nothing more than a bunch of 1s and 0s in the game representing a Pokémon that is converted into a sprite/stats/abilities/moves/etc/etc. And if a Pokémon is perfectly hacked to have the appropriate combination of 1s and 0s the game has no way of differentiating between a ‘legal’ hacked Pokémon and a ‘legit’ Pokémon.
      Don’t get me wrong I personally enjoy breeding/training teams so there is that added value outside of the game, but not all people like that, so that added value of a ‘legit’ Pokémon isn’t there for them, therefore for a lot of people there is no difference between a ‘legit’ Pokémon and a ‘legally’ hacked Pokémon since within the code of the game they are literally identical if done properly

    • @nope3361
      @nope3361 6 років тому +2

      Max Erickson I’m not talking about hacking or anything, I’m saying that there are so many things that make each Pokémon different from one another. The developers want it to be like they are living things. Writing them off as just numbers goes against that idea, and isn’t something an official should be saying

    • @maxerickson12
      @maxerickson12 6 років тому +2

      Jacob Lewis I get what your saying but they are literally just 1s and 0s stored in the game. I get it takes away from the spirit of Pokémon being ‘alive’ but at the end of the day it’s a computer game. I don’t think it’s unprofessional to admit these creatures aren’t actually alive and that they are indeed just data generated by mostly random number generators which can be manipulated either by ways intended by game developers (such as breeding with an everstone to maintain nature) or otherwise (eg. RNG manipulation).
      I guess I’m just saying it’s not unprofessional to talk about things how they really are. Especially when Masters VGC participants are the primary audience.

      I would say it has to do with sponsors. In E-Sports a lot of the money they receive is from sponsors, so if they did not punish cheaters they would risk loosing a lot of profit. Pokemon does not have this so there is less of an incentive to do much about it I suppose.

    Yeah I can see a real judges be "kinda no judgemental" about a murder and focusing on the "reason behind it" rather than the act itself. Because y'know how hard is to kill someone right? So go kill someone and as long as you hide it, you're fine... it's "legal".(I know this is a bit extreme of a metaphor, but they are literally "killing" the game)

    Is there a way to report judges? I mean if enough people complain about their conduct and comments something will have to be done. It happens in MTG and Yu-Gi-Oh why not pokemon... Not calling out people breaking the law is not just bad for business but also as a representative of the company it is your duty, neglect as well as possibly a legal issue in itself for not reporting a known crime.

    One thing I find very odd about people who hack Pokémon, whether competitively or for bragging rights, is how they have no regard for intentional ways to play. I have to ask; What's the fun in hacking Pokémon? Doing so defeats the purpose, and more so, the journey of finding, hatching, and raising the perfect Pokémon, whether it be for IVs or shininess or anything inbetween. I treat every shiny Pokémon I Masuda Method for as a journey, and that makes it very fun and worth it in the end, and everytime I see the Pokémon I bred for (either for IVs or shininess) in my PC box/fighting out in the open, a sense of pride washes over me. There's just something,, magical about raising these Pokémon yourself, and especially when you use them in official, publicised tournaments, knowing you yourself put in hours of hard work into your team.
    Eh, that's just my opinion, coming from someone who has been a competitive battler since the end of the 2D era with BW2 and has had a lot of fun breeding for 6/5 IV and shiny Pokémon, no matter how tedious.

It is even stated that use of non nittindo aproved devises to edit save files is illigle. We dont need people to defend the wicked. We need to defend the good. You kill someone your gonna go to jail. You dont see seral killers being let out of prison and the people in charge just ingore it. No seral killers stay in jail or get the chair. People who do bad things get punished. Otherwise no one would fallow the rules and things fall apart.

    We can commend the skill of those who legitimately make it this far, because in a field full of hackers, it's amazing to think they can still survive. Honestly, the only way to fix this is by sort of rebooting VGC, because right now the only way for new players to rise in the ranks is by using OP hacked mons to beat the other OP hacked mons. It's a toxic field that needs to be detoxified, and regular people can get away with hacking way too easy. Like I could take some hacked mons to VGC finals, but I dunno how to breed for specific IV's or EV train pokemon. It's too easy to just win with hacks, and this needs to be fixed. So thank you Verlisify

      Follow Up: Having grown up around Pokemon, pokemon taught me how to read, my best friends are through pokemon, my best memories are pokemon memories, and for someone who represents Pokemon to say that all of that is just 1's and 0's... it's like what has a lifetime of dedication been for? Why should Pokemon matter if it's just 1's and 0's, there's nothing tangible about it. I understand your anger Verlisify, as I am equally angry. Since I was 5, all I wanted was to grow up and work at game freak and design pokemon games and enjoy something I love. I centered my entire life around learning to program games, i have textbooks for programming, I hav games on my computer that i programmed, my entire High School and college career is centerred around being an expert pregrammer. and that statement alone makes me want to just throw away that dream, after 15 years of dedication. I guess Pokemon killed Pokemon.

    I don't understand why people think hacking is OK because sometimes certain tournaments have actual prizes and you wouldn't allow doping and steroids in sports so why would you allow cheating in esports of any kind like there's no skill or strategy involved if you're just going to use a premade team made to win but you don't actually understand any of what would go into making that legitimately I could just use that team against you and win even though I'm not very good at Pokémon as long as I know types and move affects which is easy because Nowadays they literally allow you to check type effectiveness and move affects during the battle
